When I got mine I thought it was normal to just sort of splash out on the front blades, then I read a thread on here about changing the non-return valve. They're about 3 quid on ebay, so I figured nothing to lose. I now have a strong healthy jet which soaks passersby. Have a search for it, might help.

CSI Blackpool (Season 2): What's this mod in my Zed?
Stutopia replied to Stutopia's topic in Performance
Ha, I paid for that! It wasn't a freebie like the plenum spacer and the Cosworth filter. I just didn't know the big blue wire, with the plastic bit, on the battery was for it. I just assumed it picked up a live from the same place as the old bose amp. The hertz components in the front and hertz co-axials and the sub in the "rear" weren't free either. All in? Don't ask. -
Forget Christmas Day - Zed Day is now born 14th May!

Dampers from here I think, just check they match up to your Zed. I didn't use the webstore front, just PM'd as I like to ask about stuff. http://www.b2autodesigns.com/product_info.php?products_id=5129 Charles @ b2 was really friendly and helpful with my questions. Just bare in mind import duty if you've not dabbled abroad. They look really easy to keep clean too! Seriously though, very happy. Nuts from Tarmac here. Went for black closed type, again, check for your needs mate. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/61199-muteki-super-tuner-wheel-nuts-offer/ Chris was also very friendly and helpful with my questions. -

So I got home from work to find all my Christmases had come at once! I ordered a few bits and bobs over the last few weeks, then they all came together. Postman must have been screwin' De-boxed. Motordyne spacer, tanabe strut, mishimoto magnetic sump plug, shiny bonnet dampers (thanks to b2 autodesigns for these) The other day I caught a glimpse of BBKs nuts and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them since. Muteki nuts (thanks Tarmac!) Some Edd style gloves to protect my silky soft skin. Last week some other stuff landed, but not in a single mega-haul like this. Thanks Steve @ Redline for the Zunsport Grille, black, no eye. I'm just hoping for some good weather at the weekend so I can get all greased up! PS - The eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed a couple of golf balls and a Bridgestone box. I wanted to try some new balls as I'm not that pleased with mine. When I ordered them they did free personalisation. I'm thinking this will increase my ball speed 10% at least! Gonna get some forum logo ones next time! -
CSI Blackpool (Season 2): What's this mod in my Zed?

Confirmed. Here she is: Didn't dare touch the vast array of dials and buttons on the amp! How big is the "space saver" wheel BTW! -
Holidays don't have to be on the beach! I spent two weeks trying to see everything in Peru and it's a big place. I never stopped moving, loved every minute, came back shattered - but in a good way!

Music. Not headphones, don't just put it on in the background, turn everything else off, open a bottle of your preferred drink, turn the lights down or off, really listen to it properly. Pick out the different sounds and instruments, hear for bits you've never heard before. You'll surprise yourself. It won't work with rubbish pop, cos there's not enough nuance to hold your attention and it's usually incredibly repetitive. Anything with a bit of soul to it should chill you right out. It's basically free to do as well.

Who's got cash for a Zed and a Mrs?

CSI Blackpool (Season 2): What's this mod in my Zed?
Stutopia replied to Stutopia's topic in Performance
Ha! The sales fella was quick to point out I've got a scorpion cat back when I went to see her. Like me though, he obviously didn't spend too much time poking around in the bay! -
Nice car, great colour too, it's the second fastest colour after GM.

Still hoping there's a mines cf lip hidden in there somewhere I'd be totally at sea if it wasn't for this place. Since I picked her up in Feb I've learnt all sorts of stuff, it's been an amazing experience so far and I still haven't actually met another forum member yet! Though I did wave at a Zed the other day and got one back, I felt like I was in the best secret society ever! -
CSI Blackpool (Season 2): What's this mod in my Zed?
Stutopia replied to Stutopia's topic in Performance
Hidden away, in the boot, under the mat, next to the spare, buried under some sort of styrofoam, there be blue cables, loads of 'em. But most importantly, one great big thick one! Not the best shots as it's pitch black outside and blowing a hurricane, just stuck my phone in and pressed click a few times. I'll investigate properly tomorrow after work when I can actually take the impeding stuff out without it blowing off down the street, but I can sleep easy tonight. Thanks again. -

I'll find it to be certain but the amp is working all round (as my lower back will attest) and she had the stock Bose setup before so I think it's case closed. Ta everyone. -
CSI Blackpool (Season 2): What's this mod in my Zed?
Stutopia replied to Stutopia's topic in Performance
Sweet, hopefully the other end goes into my aftermarket amp! Explains why it's the cleanest thing in the bay and I'd not noticed it when I first went in there, pre-installation. Installer never mentioned it when he showed me my new bits. Thanks everyone, this place is the best. -

Got a new mystery bit I'm hoping someone can please identify. I made a rare venture into the engine bay to replace some missing clips around the brake and battery cubbys. Inside the battery cubby there's this very clean and very new looking blue wire with a clear plastic bit in it. Any ideas? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. -
I'm still learning so I do as instructed by the product, especially ones I don't know. Some say panel then wipe, some to cloth then wipe, others say can do either. I'm sure one of the experienced detail heads will be along shortly to advise!

I saw this little guy this morning, don't know anything about her, but from the thread it certainly appears well looked after. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71162-2003-gun-metal-grey-gt-uk-6750/

Me too. Love this stuff after Waxybox switched me on to it. I give her a very light pressure wash first to shift any sizeable surface contaminets, quick dry, bang this on. Simples. http://www.angelwax.co.uk/?wpsc-product=qed

It'd be a good start, still waiting on their first decent one... What about Iron Man? Avengers Assemble? X-Men first class? Thor? TBF I liked Iron Man, the rest did nothing for me especially Avengers Assemble. Gang of invincible people had to stop some baddie, there's no jeopardy with an undefeatable line up like that, they couldn't lose, took away from the drama of it for me. I enjoyed the opening sequence with SJ...

I don't understand why the tyres are mandated. If it's one of these cost cutting measures, just introduce an overall budget cap and send the teams off. I preferred the good old days when they bought tyres from the supplier they wanted, refuelled when they wanted, then all the manufacturers in the chain (tyres, engine, chasis, etc) are trying to push the limits of performance - which is the whole point of F1. This half-hearted, "you must use this bit and you can't develop your own, change this every 4 races" is totally against the spirit of innovation in F1 IMHO. Yes there must be regs like engine size and aero rules. If you want close individual racing, give everyone the same car. If you want a proper team sport, let them run with a budget. Also the overtake buttons that have been installed, it's practically impossible to defend a position. They should only work when the cars are OVER a second apart, bringing them closer together to race, not to allow drivers to simply breeze past when they've already caught up. I'm not a Red Bull fan, but it seems the whole rule book is designed to slow them down, which is a fundamentally rubbish way to run a sport.

I'm in denial. E-friends are just as valid as real ones.

When I was a youth, we went karting most weekends and got friendly with the marshals after a while. Usually when it rained on the outdoor track they closed it down, but as they knew we weren't bellends they'd let us go out. They were only little twin engine beasts but in Scottish rain, with slick, cold tyres, I learned for the first time that the wet makes a big difference! Had twice as much fun at half the speed. It was quite a good lesson as my driving instructor at 17 never really talked about it in all the hours of learning. The wet still cares me though, not cos of the Zed or it's tyres, but because I see so many people not make a single allowance in their driving style, whether it's bone dry A road or standing water on the motorway with 50 foot visibility!
