  1. I did a road trip round California and Nevada last Summer, with an awesome rag top Camaro for company. Not the most refined, but certainly the most fun car I'd ever driven, I think it was heavily responsible for my decision to buy a Zed. This year I can't rustle up enough support to do another road trip in the States (I was planning Houston to Key West but it'll probably have to wait) so I got all inspired by reading Dan's Euro Jaunt diary and in particular, the bits about mountains. I've got relatives in France, I want to see the Millau Bridge, I've always wanted to drive Monaco and I've never been to Italy or Switzerland either, let alone seen an alp. So I dreamed up this route, with some pretty heavy influence from here http://www.ultimated...roads/index.php I've managed to work in 7 of their top 10 in my route, plus the aforementioned Monaco (who doesn't want to drive Monaco???) and some bits of northern Italy (I've heard Florence is quite nice) and of course the famous Stelvio Pass. Below are the particularly fun parts of the drive. Map 1 Map 2 Map 3 Map 4 Map 5 Map 6 Map 7 Anyway, what I'm after is experience from anyone who know these parts of the world and can give me tips and advice on things to see and do along the way, maybe even places to stay. I got loads of great tips on my Scotland Road Trip thread, so I'm hoping for more of the same. I'm thinking just short of a couple of weeks should be enough, so there is some slack in this plan. PS - Don't tell my Zed but I'm also considering flying into Geneva and renting a vehicle there, if I can find something fun enough. Preferably German with a big unit. probably going to take her once I figure out the costs of flights and rental. Any and all comments appreciated. Ta.
  2. Took me a bit longer than 10 minutes this aft, on account of me not removing the wiper first. I'm an idiot. Other than that didn't even break any trim clips, well pleased! The weight removal has been a real win on further aiding the boot pop too
  3. Rear wiper delete has been getting some exposure so thought I'd give it a go. Thanks to Mack for the guide, made it look simple enough for me to do. Required clean pair of Captain Brave pants for yanking the boot trim off, but other than that, simples. Oh, take the actual wiper off first BTW... Shifted the boot weight too, boot pops higher than ever now. Well pleased with the results all round, rear end looks well http://www.350z-uk.c...removal-delete/ Just need a GM grommet now instead of the black.
  4. Please report back it's easy! I'm tempted to try it.
  5. BM, I'd not thought about this with all the chat I've read on coil overs and lowering springs, so I'm very intrigued.. Is it really that good a mod for a nearly stock car you'd get it done very early on the Zed list?
  6. You mean the whole assembly, or the wiper blade? If it's the wiper delete, try this: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71353-350z-wiper-removal-delete/ I've not done it so count vouch for it, but it looks comprehensive.
  7. Very nice job. Looks I've got quite a few scratches on my side windows from the seals, from the work you have had done, do you think a tint might hide them a bit? I'm loathe to buy new side windows from Nissan.
  8. Done. GL, not an easy challenge, I used to watch loads of people doing the sca fell leg of the 3 peaks yacht race as a kid, always looked tough.
  9. I just assume they'll repeatedly press the remote and look for a Nissan with flashing indicators. Should I not have written my PIN on the back either?
  10. Only seen it with Barclays, but worth an ask. I found it really tricky to find one of my photos I liked enough and would fit on somehow. The colour looked weird with the massive blue Barclays bit that you can't change, if they'd just let you make it plain white text, it'd be better. That's why I went black and white, otherwise all my photos looked weird!
  11. Aren't you curious to ask where they think you should be parking? I'd NEED to know which space they consider is appropriate for parking, and their selection criteria.
  12. Anyone got anything exotic in the boot interior light? A funky colour or something?
  13. Surely we all have? Comparison sites get quotes from 100's of underwriters, surely some say no. My mate's an insurance broker, he said exactly the same as this. Also, when I worked in finance we kept records up to 7 years, nothing like 20.
  14. Whatever you do, when you call sky, tell them virgin have offered you a ridiculous deal to stay and see if they'll do anything more for you. Even if they say no, nothing lost. I'm paying £80 a month for a couple of HD boxes and the full package. It's only really worth it for a decent sky premiere every now and then, the footie and sky Atlantic - but I'd never leave!
  15. My old card was starting to fall to bits, so I went to re-order and gave the new personalised card a go. You'll never guess what I got put on it..... It's a bit blurry where I've quickly hidden the good stuff! So much better than boring old blue! Shame about the the chip getting in the way.
  16. I had a huge battery drain day 1, no problem today, but it is beta after all. I've narrowed it down to either Music being on all day, The Guardian, or playing candycrush on the head. If you want out, just put it into Recovery mode, plug into iTunes, restore to factory, restore to the backup you took before you upgraded to 7. Recovery mode instructions here: http://osxdaily.com/2011/01/08/iphone-recovery-mode/ I've done this as I forgot to register my phone as a developer device, before install! It works
  17. Do it! Get some of those wicked chrome badges... ... for your walking stick
  18. Gimme a chance! Nothing compares to The Mavis.
  19. Slightly off topic but.... Kirk v Kirk got me thinking about how I always wanted to be able to do a great Kirk impression, which got me thinking who does a good kirk? Obviously Kevin Pollack. But then that got me thinking, I've not seen Pollack's Walken for a while.... Probably my all time favourite impression.
  20. It's cool. The new guy's pretty good, but proper Spock steals the show. I couldn't help but feel a little Shatner cameo at the end wouldn't have hurt! Good find.
  21. I wasn't a big fan of two tone before, but... I think this has turned me round. Very nice job. Looks mint mate, you must be well pleased.
