Gave her a bit of a going over today; snow, TBW, PBs white diamond and a splash of PBs liquid natty's blue - all because the sun was staying in bed. But, just as I finished, she popped out and I couldn't resist a little run out. Should've taken the proper camera, but not bad for t'iPhone n t'iPhoto.

+1 on poorboys for ease of use, cost and also final finish. Not a fan of their quick detailer, but that's by the by on this one.

Unlucky mate, what kind of chickenshit ***** does that? I'd or GDUK-JAP-PARTS see if any breakers in.

As per RT's warning I'm the person who hasn't driven an S2000, but loves his Zed. However, I won't flame as described above as I've read enough posts to know he's even handed. And I don't know that much, but... ... I was thinking about an S2000 when I bought the Zed, I preferred then, and do now, the look of the Zed - I know this isn't a massive thing, but it counts. When I drive past S2000s I don't feel any envy, maybe some curiosity. I fully intended to test drive a S2000 but I fell in love with the first Zed I drove and bought it. As for how that impulsive decision went? I think the comfortable, laid back, GT drive I have in the Zed to work, with the option of spirited drive when I get the itch - is ace. It's two beasts, controlled by one foot. But don't do what I did, defo drive them both and see what suits your moods. I think everyone will agree they're both strong cars.

that's a very nice Zed, wheels are fit.

Bizz's LS3 6.2l V8 350Z Drift Car Project - IT CAN DRIFT!! :)

Jesus that looks terrifying. Good skills. Took me all morning to fit and route a wire! Love this thread. -
I'm no mechanic but I'm sure I've seen something on here about remembering to put the sump plug back before you start to fill her up

Not sure TBH, once the HFCs go on and the money is around I'll make some calls to the places before I commit the funds. I imagine they keep records... It certainly feels fast

Not every step with Zeditis is a step forward, thanks go to a little bit of steel on some plant pots for this undesired "mod". An embarrasing trip back to the bodyshop to get her fixed but not to bad at £65 Looks like I need a cam up front as well...

Little update for today. Finally got the reverse cam working as intended, not especially complex job but still took two goes. The kind of job that requires patience (especially jamming the headunit and centre console back in - grrrrrr) which I am not blessed with. Couple of thanks to dish out, firstly to AFTERSHOX for this guide: http://www.350z-uk.c...l-–-superguide/ It was indispensable for ripping out the trim and routing wires I strongly urge anyone thinking of doing this mod to read this first. It might not all apply, but a lot will. Thanks also to BulletMagnet for some tech support when this was not looking so good for me, and also SMD - is he even still around here these days? Probably on some Saga Jaaaag owners holiday - for answering a few questions before I got going and giving me some pointers and the confidence to give it a whirl. Pics below, just cos I love 'em. Pretty the cam, just pokes out the plate bulb space - much less prominent than the pic suggests. The output up in the bridge, fully auto-switching now - thanks BM. Well pleased with this little mod, especially since the rear wiper delete and return of the rain. One of the more practical mods and all for about £30.

Cracked this today. Thanks for the comments, especially yours BM. I'll post up a couple of pics on my build thread,

I had trouble too, orange peel city, even after lacquer. So I gave up, rubbed it down with about 1500 grit wet and dry and used whatever liquid polish I could find in the shed, came out great Cheers for the tip. I actual picked up plastic primer & filler, leveller and rubbing compound in rattle cans today. Going to have another run at them. I'll bare your polish experience in mind. Ta.

Easy to get off (I'm not mechanically gifted) first few steps of this guide for driver's then onto step 9 for passenger's. http://liljerk.morpheus.net/350Z/front_speakers/ I'm actually finding getting a spot on painted finish quite tricky, but I'm persevering. RT sent me this when I asked about painting. http://www.ehow.com/how_2062197_spray-paint-like-pro.html

Look great and I don't think the price is too high. If you called out an emergency plumber he'd want £75 just to arrive, this job is way more important

There is a difference between a pipe that's been designed like that, and another pipe designed to be tubular but hammered into another shape. I imagine they did a bit of fluid dynamics work before they got the sledge out.

What do you think of ISO 7.0 Update for your iPhone.
Stutopia replied to WhackyWill's topic in Off Topic Discussion
If you're getting battery issues, use the swipe up for quick settings and switch off your wifi and BT if you're not using them. Hunting for wifi all day really eats power. In settings switch off Background App Refresh, switch off auto brightness (seems to churn battery) and again use quick settings if you need to adjust - I find the mid point works nicely. Plus the normal stuff, switch off button click noises, set the screen auto off to a short time, disable fetch new data for email (or switch the frequency down to hourly). -

I've had it on my phone for a while now and it's a leap forward in usability, the palette is a big jump but I've come to like it. I don't mind a pastel shade or two. Put it on my ipad yesterday, as I'd not bothered with the betas on there, feels like the screen is 10% bigger. Reminders and calendar and mail are much improved, as is safari. Very pleased. I'm a little curious what the release version is going to do for battery life... -
Seen some recent excitement on here about the bilt hamber clay, got one but not had chance to use yet with the weather sucking balls. Just tried the poorboys white diamond glaze a few weeks ago, really liked it, they do an equivalent black hole glaze for dark cars (mine's GM). Also got the poorboys liquid nattys blue after reading good stuff on here, but again not got any on her yet. Not dabbled too much in waxes and polishes (except the Meg's 3 stage which didn't really get me excited), just been using the stuff in Waxybox so far. I'm still a learner in this area. Of all the stuff I've been experimenting with so far, my favourite product is the angelwax QED. It's well priced, goes on like a dream and leaves a great (IMHO) finish, I can do the whole car in a few minutes. Great for finishing off the sneaky mid-week in between wash & dry, for a shiny finish for practically no effort. http://www.angelwax.co.uk/?wpsc-product=qed Have fun on your mega order, nothing better than getting a big box of fresh detailing goodies to play with - except actually driving the Zed of course.

It's quite a personal thing but so far I've used: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk and http://www.angelwax.co.uk for my favourite (so far) quick exterior detailer. I've picked up some stuff off amazon too. Ultimatefinish give you a little discount when you buy stuff and occasionally do some reasonable promotions. Shipping can be sluggish though. Enjoy!

I love snowing, espuma smells so nice I don't even care how good it is and it's so much fun spraying it around. It confuses the hell out of the natives round my parts. What's not to like?

Strong list, take some pics!

They look quite good! How long u had them for and how many times you had them off and on? Couple of months, been off once, seem fine. I think the masking tape trick is the key.

I got one of these as I thought it was a bit more fun than a straight code reader. Works over wi-fi rather than BT, the link can drop to my iphone after about 5-10 mins from time to time, but works plenty long enough to view fault codes. However, not had a real chance to test it in anger as I've not had any fault codes yet. http://iobd2.co.uk/
