What the hell is wrong with people? Even if the beer is being given away free, show a bit of restraint FFS.

I had no idea they were so well known! Maybe it's an age thing? I grew up with Diablo and Countach on the wall. Looked sweet though, I'd love to bring a car back from the edge to show room. One day I'll get that dry state mustang.
-
I bet they're a barrel load of fun Will. The rear tyres were insane, I think they're wider than they are tall! 500 BHP through tiny wheels, the torque must be outrageous.

So I went to see a man about a special Zed job today whilst I was there, I saw this. I was so excited to share it, even though its not exactly Zed related. Sorry for rubs photo. Never even heard of one before but it was amazeballz. The owner was there fortunately so he gave me some background on it's history and him buying it in bits and putting it back together, it's got a dirty great mid-mounted V8 (500bhp claimed at the wheel) in the boot which actually encroaches into the cabin, past where your elbow rest would be in a regular car!!! It was ridiculously low and had a real GT40 vibe going on. It wasn't in showroom condition (hence being in the shop) but it was incredible looking thing and the custom exhaust which just came straight off the being in the boot (couldn't see any cats or silencer) must sound like the end of the world. http://en.wikipedia...._Tomaso_Pantera

Do you still have your red gaiter? I'm going to be looking to get one ... Think so, I'll look when I get home. If it's there you can have it.

It wasn't until I went to the States that I realised how awful some service can be here. TBF, there's plenty of great uk based companies, but so many places get it so wrong it's untrue, most of the time the costs of providing excellent service over crap is a few quid or simply a little bit of effort. Always over deliver.
-
The gaiter is now black, but the Z is still red Just bear in mind that it will reflect off your rear windscreen so choose your scheme wisely.
-
Love to see pics once you're done! Mine is pretty scratched up too, might paint it to give it a tidy up if its an easy enough job! Like this? Just leaving the Z stock actually looks pretty cool. Can't decide if I like that more than the red I switched too.

I'll look into that mapsourse. After reading this thread I downloaded the garmin basecamp software, for adding proper google maps style routes to the sat nav with POIs and waypoints. I've made a great circuit of Paris I intend to run in the dead of night when the streets are empty. I think it could be great fun with zero traffic at 3am or some such. Basecamp is literally the most clunky thing ever and I can't seem to download the detailed maps, so it has to pull them off the SatNav via USB (you can imagine how quick that is ). Going to read the instructions next might make it a bit slicker. Also tried TYRE from tyre.co.uk which seems to use google maps, so it's a lot slicker than basecamp but it doesn't work on OSX so have to run dirty windowz on my beautiful iMac. I feel unclean...

I think 75-80 psi is too much, surprised they haven't broken free already

The real questions are: Do aftermarket bits weigh more and negatively impact power to weight ratio? Even if they weigh less, do they impact weight distribution and balance negatively? Do they impact airflow, air pressure or turbulence and increase drag at all? Or negatively impact any intended air flow efficiencies nissan intentionally designed in? I fear we may never know I just buy shiny things and loud things

How do you find it in comparison to the MX5 Dan, both in terms of sheer grunt and agility?
-
I quite like that.

With the right wheels and a BGW that could really be something...

IIRC from GCSE physics, heat can transfer by conduction, convection and radiation. So when the car is moving I'd expect heat soak to be reduced for conduction and convection, but not eliminated. Also as radiation heat travels through a vacuum (sun's heat to earth) the heat 'reflectivity', as well as the specific heat capacity, of the materials must also be a factor in heat soak, whilst in motion. It's been a while since I did GCSE physics, so that could be wildly apocryphal Edit: typos, sorry for sub GCSE English skills

I'm using ferodo ds2500 pads, they seem good to me from cold and under spirited conditions. Loads of options though that are sexier than OEM, check out cougarstore, Tarmac, Clark's and h-dev just for a starter , I'm sure there's more too. If you're doing pads and discs I think braided lines and updated fluid at the same time would make sense. Have fun, you're going to have loads to choose from.

There's a selection of codes in this thread that my O2 sensors have thrown. If your up in Aberdeen you must be spoilt for choice, seems like everyone up there has a zed But seriously I bet the great team at Clark Motorsport can help you. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/77029-help-recurrence-of-o2-sensor-eml-with-new-codes/

That sounds really useful. A few times I've planned routes on google maps and wanted to 'drop them' into my satnav. I end up needing a list of postcodes or gps coordinates if I want to plan a special route.

I'd say microfibre pads would be too aggressive myself, but if your technique is good this can be compensated for. Is there any reason why you'd want to go for microfibre over foam pads? No special reason, just curious, seen them used a few times on detailing videos and that.

It looks like Some sort of Garmin. Possibly the Garmin 2598 LMT-D http://www.johnlewis...d=c&tmcampid=73 It has the Lifetime maps, bluetooth, 5" etc just what i require also if i can plan routes via dripping in coordinates then that's just great. Thanks all for your advise. That's not the exact one I meant but it looks to be similar or an upgrade. As per one of the comments above, strongly advise you to play with a real one in a shop before ordering online. See if you like the UI and the touchscreen etc. (same for any gadget really)

Got a garmin nuvi something in piano black. Looks smart, gets you there, decent sized screen, can add celebrity voices It has all Europe maps, speed cam stuff for fixed and known mobile hotspots (watch this in France) and I get updates for life. Touch screen is resistive not capacitive so can be a bit clunky. UI is fine but nothing to jizz off about, I think it has Bluetooth but I'm not sure what that's for. I picked Garmin simply because they've been at it for years at sea. It sometimes gets a bit confused but it's never got me lost or driven into a river or other such Daily Mail tale of woe. It was awesome in Switzerland as I could dump coordinates into it for the tops of the passes, but I'm sure other devices may do that too. Would recommend as 4 star of 5.

That's a good price. Where is that and how long are you Camaro-less?

If the swirls bug you, but you can't splash out on a DA right now, get some soft hand pads and a decent glaze, it'll hide the swirls (a bit), then bang some wax on top (again this will help hide them too). It won't correct, it'll minimise. Obviously when you're just putting 'make up' on it doesn't make for a natural beauty, but it can make something look a lot better.

Anyone tried the megs microfibre pads? They look decent but worried they might be a bit aggressive for the soft paint?
