I'm desperate to get involved on a project but have no space, trying to remedy that with a house, but imagine that might chomp up some of DI. Nothing amazing just a track toy would be ace. I'm going to Florida later this year, I'd hate to find an old muscle car and have to ship it back to the UK

Remote "out of sync" - [SOLVED] How to reprogram it.
Stutopia replied to Stutopia's topic in 350Z Technical
Cheers Neilp. If anyone stumbles upon this thread looking for the same thing, I found four threads, some different processes and only one thread reports anyone actually successfully executing a re-programme http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/15223-re-programming-the-key-fobs/ http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/80350-how-to-reprogramme-key-fob-uk-models/ http://www.350z-uk.com/index.php?showtopic=46866 Winner: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/15186-how-do-you-program-the-key-fob-to-the-car/ Bit now as I don't want to brick my functioning remote, or erase its place from the stored 4. Given it might take a few stabs, I'll wait until Sat AM so I've got 2 clear days to nail it then update this thread. -
10K to buy 2 seats, what would you have?

It was a toss up between that and the TVR for me, but I preferred the interior of the TVR, inasmuch as it has one -
So whilst The Shark went in to have an intermittent speaker cut out investigated, I also asked the electronics chap to check out my second key, specifically the remote part. The key's remote central locking has not been working for a while (replaced battery), and my primary key is fully functional. Anyway, after having a look at it he advised that the remote is still emitting a signal when you push the buttons, it's just not the one the car is expecting. Something like... When you lock/unlock via remote, to prevent some enterprising thief from picking up your "signal" and then playing it back to your car and unlocking it, they rotate through (presumably a fixed) cycle of "handshakes". Therefore, only the remote and the car know what the next handshake is going to be. Apparently my second key has "forgotten" which handshake the car is expecting and the car refuses to play ball. Now the questions: 1) does this all sound plausibly non-BS? 2) do I have any alternative than a trip to the stealer to get this resolved? 3) anyone else battled with this? As always, thanks for any help.

Where's the Transit van on this list? I'm sure I read on here they're faster than a 350 off the mark -
Great vids Dan It looks like a ton of fun Spa and the MR2 looks a great choice for a track toy. Once I get the house sorted I simply must get involved in a little track toy action myself. Kudos for owning up to the oil too

What is the best foam to use with the Karcher , I've used the Halffraud own brand and its not that good. I use valet pro snow foam with my karcher, smells awesome, but what foam gun are you using? The karcher one I had was rubbs, if you're using that, it might not be the foam letting you down Will. http://www.theultima...-snow-foam.aspx Its the one that came with the Karcher 2,, got a plastic bowel under it. I think bowel is the right word, cos they're fairly s*** mine is accumulating dust and waiting for me to wash the downstairs house windows. I was much happier when I switched to the PA lance, nice brass fittings and user serviceable. http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pa-foam-lance-cat2.html

Not done much, I can show , for a while so I couldn't resist posting up, even though it's a boring mod. I got some good price sound deadening to try and help the speakers out inside the car. You can see I've expertly followed the precise contours of the boot mat I have enough left over to do another boot mat size amount, so if anyone wants it, drop me a PM. No charge, except the post (which will be a few quid as it's quite a size).

Oooh that's a beautiful Zed Jimmy

Get a Cayman! IMHO it's major selling point is that it ISN'T a 911, so Porsche aren't handicapped by being forced to have the engine somewhere miles back, beyond the rear axle. Either way, they'll all be pretty awesome!

I like that deep down tone. Perfect. -
They look ace.

Weird isn't it? In the work car park I get comments like, "How much of a wedge must you be on?" from people driving 2 year old, 5 series Beamers Pop 2 seats out and people think you're a millionaire.

http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/82015-wales-2014-raffle-prizes-tickets/ How have I not seen this, great idea I just hope I can do it correctly

I watched it and I was really disappointed it wasn't about the engineering, I thought there be loads of detail on how they actually make it, not the garish interiors they dream up for people with more money than brains. I'm not down on wealthy people doing whatever they want with their cash, but some of the stuff they have is awful. Case in point, the Rolls Royce picnic hamper. It costs £20k and RR said most people never ever use it, it's just to "complete" the experience. It's just excess weight, get it out! Anyway, the most startling thing I personally felt was how having a truck load of money seems to inversely affect your ability to see when something, or some component, is just plain ugly because of its badge and/or price tag.
-
Er, didn't they say China is like one of RR top 3 markets in the show? Communism works, just not for everyone

Mine doesn't move around when it's seated correctly, but it does really "clip in" as such. PS - Sorry for slightly off topic, but whilst you're in there, can you confirm if your ashtray light stays on all the time? Mine does and not sure if it's supposed to.

Ah, yes. It's my fault. How silly of me.

I don't get it, one half drops a nut, the other half is one nut in credit. No? -

Unlucky mate. Grit your teeth and bank this one, then keep it filed for some inevitable, future misdemeanour. So at least you've got a, "Remember when you..." get out of jail free card in your pocket. -

This may very well be the best looking Zed on here. -
