Fix the front end, it’ll do fine.

Apologies I didn’t check all 14 pages before making a light hearted comment. When you say “story” is that an actual story, one of the myriad conjecture pieces or fantasy render 253?

Crikey I hope not. I'm browsing a lot of Pork on autotrader these days and they seem to think white is an upgrade over black

Why would it have such a high front end? It's still going to be a boxer with a low COG. I don't get these fantasy renders...

Tarmac spec Stage rally car - fresh build
Stutopia replied to Moynesey's topic in Member Build Projects
Love a build, in for the follow. -
It's not about weight or power, it's about ride. If you take a comfy GT, make it less refined. It's a sports.

Because GT v Sports, I miss GT.

Love what you’ve done, but that mass of exposed cables needs an enclosure!

I think we all did fine mate, whether you've got 6.3L or 1.6L, 1730kg or 920kg there's plenty of fun driving to be had across north Wales without upsetting the locals, plod or the robots. I don't know where you'd drive that racecar at ten tenths Col, but I hope there's a big run off! Defo need some time over the grip limit in a safe space.

I think this is sold, HJ was in first with a PM and I'll respect the dibs if it drops out.

Free for a noob detailer, my Meguair's DA polisher and starter goodies. Comes with case, assorted backing plates and various pads, enough to do some correction. Also included a wet sanding pad and a glass polishing pad too. All used but in first class order. All you need to do is cover the cost of postage, get some polishing juices and you are away.

You better go at the back of the convoy in case the blu tac fails...

There's always going to be some brand snobbery and reverse snobbery. Hell, even car type snobbery exists (people get upset when hot hatches cross a certain £ threshold), but it seems we're in an age now where loads of new (or not previously considered interesting) brands can chuck out an I-30 N or a Kia Stinger.

Hi Lenny, post up a thread of your own in this section and maybe do a post in introductions too - along!

Roughly where are talking for collection?

I've not done the tips for ages and I detest working away with my fingers when I can get a machine to do things for me, so I gave these a try. There's about a million different ways to buy these cheap things, here's the one I went for - here The yellow one is notably more coarse, the other two there's not much in it. I wasn't expecting much other than to reduce the first stage of cleaning up the worst of the carbon and a little spot of corrosion. Used the cones in conjunction with the metal twins (and my drill), heavy polish on the yellow cone (get the sling off before you go near the car), then a few whirls around the inside and outside, about 5 mins effort including occasional wipe downs and inspections. I was quite please after one pass (I did deal with some heavier soiling with 0000 wire wool briefly). Finished up with the blue (not sure if that or orange is supposed to be polish) with the sealant, followed by a wipe down and the last of some C5 Wheel Armour I had knocking about. As you can see they are not anywhere near a mirror finish, but they are exhaust tips after all and these have seen about 50,000 miles. If you had the car up in the air and wanted to give the back boxes + the resonator a good clean, these little guys would be invaluable. At £12, they're about 24 times what they must cost to make, but still cheap enough. They will be good for another few uses and compared to most detailing costs, I can't fault them. Got shot of that spot of rust too.
