Little update in case anyone finds themself looking for as case as well. I plumped for a Belkin Ultimate Keyobard Case: http://www.belkin.com/uk/p/P-F5L151/ I know this is an expensive option but I am made up with it. The tiny little keyboard is excellent, with scrabble tile keys with good travel and feedback. The function keys are handy too (play/pause/volume/skip/home) and the apple command key for copying/pasting, combined with being able to easily select text with the cursor keys. The three viewing angles for landscape mode are spot on, if not infinitely flexible. You can also lay it flat over the keyboard, which switches it off and puts it into the more traditional screen keyboard mode. It's perhaps a bit flimsier than I would have liked, this is not going to defend against a drop from 5 foot on concrete, but then it's not meant for that. Protects front and back from scratches and makes the little iPad a real option for everyday office stuff, with it's ultra-portability and outrageous battery life. Downsides: it doesn't auto sleep when you close it, which is rubbs, but the power button isn't hard to press. The keyboard isn't backlit, but that's not an issue if you are a fluid typer. One irritation is it seems to disable auto-correct when you type, which is a shame as the onscreen keyboard is very capable at redeeming mis-strokes. All in all I would recommend it if you use your iPad for more than just FB and web browsing, if you don't, it'd be overkill.

To think how quickly and easily this can be done now. It's not even a challenge anymore The internet also killed taping songs off the Top 40 and trying desperately to get as much as possible before the Radio 1 drone opened his big mouth 79p off iTunes now - simples. Before the lock, couple of tunes. I'd literally never heard anything like the Prodigy before, and nothing since. http://youtu.be/2h_7EU8FdwQ

Now that is a chooooon.

I remember switching off predictive text at first, it was too freaky

I used to decorate my room with flyers from a load of those, but I was far too young to be at a rave, not to mention there weren't many in the Lakes where I grew up I had tapes from Fantazia: The Big Bang, Rezerection, with acts like DJ Slipmatt, Ultrasonic, Rat Pack, The Time Frequency, Alern 8, Utah Saints...

I remember typing lines of instructions trying to get it to draw a circle. Some sort of REPEAT that worked through 360 different moves. Took minutes to draw. That thing couldn't even run the calculator app on my iPhone these days

My y pipe was only just touching the w brace and it made a right racket at certain revs. You couldn't really tell underneath it as it felt solid, but taking it off revealed tell tale missing paint, so it had to be modded very slightly with a hammer and repainted. Sorted.

Paperboy? Those graphics remind me of California Games on the Atari Lynx.

Jet..... My god she was hot. Didn't another Gladiater (called Hunter maybe?) knock about with her? Lucky git. Last time I saw a picture of her she still looked good. I'm sure there was a rumour about Hunter and Ulrika ka ka ka, but not Jet. Hunter was a massive cheesed!ck. Sorry if Hunter is anyone's mate

I remember being really chuffed when I finally got a video recorder with "auto tracking". Also... That was the first thing I actually saved up and bought for myself. Speedball 2 is probably the greatest game ever, but Desert Strike wasn't far behind.
-
You've actually met Jet? For real? That is the single greatest thing that could ever happen to anyone ever. You're my hero.Undefeated on Hang Tough and just abvout the fastest on The Wall too. Beauty, brawn and brains. Amazing.

Still rocking curtains and an undercut?

I recently ordered this a fun gift for a mate's birthday. It has the double bonus of being both massively Partridge (if you're a fan, you'll know) and also (like most lads that age) we were huge Jet fans back in the day. She stirred something in my adolescent self that I didn't fully understand at the time Back then there was no internet to order stuff like this (imagine no internet young 'uns ). Anyway I was so excited when it arrived, I just had to share it. If it hadn't felt too creepy ordering two, I'd have got one for myslef Isn't the internet brilliant? I may now try and find some Spliffy jeans, a Global Hypercolour tee, a Naf Naf bomber jacket and some Kickers with white socks to complete the trip down memory lane, then rock out to some SL2 - On A Ragga Tip Do you have a guilty 90s pleasure to share with the group? Photos would be epic...

Just cruising up Hornby Rd, then turning right on Park Road. Looked good, I do like the JDM rear end... Rubbs pic, maximum zoom and then cropped

Interesting that you got good cleaning at 4%. This foam and I may yet get on.

Nice even handed write up, hard to imagine I wouldn't get ridiculously carried away having a shot in one. Sounds like all kinds of fun. CC is surely a must? It's hard enough keeping the Zed speed legal with it's lazy power.

My GM '07 HR Fast Road Build Thread (Update 11/01/15 New Exhaust)

I want to meet the girl who orders that from Ann Summers -
Nice work, the final rain snap especially. Seat looks sweet too. Not a Zed obviously, but it goes to show that looking after your paint on any motor can make it look a bit special.

Some really nice mods going on here, like the plastidip work and the touch up of the cubby button. Oh and the enourmous twiglet you recieved in the post -
I remember Oslo being pretty quiet but I'm sure it was more built up than this? Camera on the later model iphones is really impressive for on the fly photograhy.

Let us know how it goes, always looking for something new.

I've been using Valet Pro Advanced Neutral Snow Foam for a while now (largely because I bought 5 litres of the stuff ) and it seems to do a nice job of making a foam and removing some, but not all, of the soilage I get - mainly bird sh*t round here on the coast and brake dust. I saw a fairly impressive youtube vid of the 50cal Ambush Super Foam the other day, so I thought I'd order a bottle and see what it's like. Anyway, here's what THEY say... "It has a built in wax and dewatering aid to further help the rinsing of the product from the vehicle. It works extremely efficiently on the removal of break dust and road film on wheels thus potentially rendering the need to use a secondary alloy wheel cleaner unnecessary. We recommend using a starting dilution of 2-3 inches into a 1lt wash bottle, topped up with ideally deionised water that’s attached to the foaming lance. The air intake and pressure should be set to the maximum settings available. The product is also enhanced with a rich Bubblegum smell and for the real enthusiasts, we will be offering options to have the foam coloured, in due course." http://www.50caldeta...uperfoam/4mbu5h At £15 for half a litre it doesn't compare favourably on price to Valet Pro at twice the price for 10 times the amount. I used it at about 20% dilution, which is the upper end of their 10-20 recommendation - with waxes and stuff I think less is more, but with foam and shampoos I tend to think more is more! This consumed a fairly sizeable amount of the bottle Ordinariliy I'd also chuck an inch of some Megs Hyperwash in the lance as well, but for a change I did what I was told - almost - I used tap water rather than de-ionised. Enough chat, here's some pics. I arranged for an open minded local bird to do a rather watery "deposit" on the car for me in the week. And a legion of crack suicide bugs happily decorated my front end too. The foam itself goes on nice and thick The bottle says it can be left for up to 30 mins to dwell. I don't know what kind of conditions it has to be outside for that to occur, but for me, it's simply unbelievable. This is after 5 minutes. The paint was bone dry before application. It wouldn't have made it to my usual 10 minutes dwell, as the weather today was simply too warm, I could see streaks thinking about forming after about 7 minutes, so I gave the whole car a light spritz of water just to keep the surface wet. I must add that it was too warm for this today, but I only had today to wash her, so tough So after a pressure wash at a reasonable distance, not one inch from the paint or anything crazy. The bird's deposit was no more. And the bugs were yesterday's news. Obviously I've processed the plate images to remove my numbers, but I promise I didn't use iPhoto to remove the bugs - the foam did that. Jerry's Final Thought I like how thick this stuff goes on, it's almost a shaving foam special. I like how much grime it shifted after a short dwell. I noticed that the wheels (door forgot pics) were nicely softened up by it and the brake dust came off nice n easy with a pressure wash pass (closer than I would go on paint though). They are sealed with Rim Wax, so they're pretty easy to clean normally. I liked the smell not sure about it being bubble gum as claimed, smelt more like menthol - it's not a product that smells so good you want to drink/eat it I also liked that it seemed to leave the previous layers of protection on, judging from the water behaviour during the two bucket wash I went on to do. I didn't like the price, bearing in mind the quantity and suggested dilution. I'm going to use half as much next time and see if the foam is still decent and the clean too. If it is, then it may become my foam of choice. Couple of whoring pics at the end, just cos I'm like that. Just the foam, TBW with AMMO foam paint cleanser and then a Red Mist QD. Regular maintenance job.

Education is the key................. or is it?
Stutopia replied to StevoD's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Some of the subjects and topics I studied in education seemed, on the face of it, pointless. Differentiation being a particularly sore point for me (I still don't get it ). However, I do believe though that it's not always the subject matter that's important. Analysing stuff like Shakespeare or Dickens or some event in history can be tedious, because of this it was years after school before I got interested in subjects I now like (such as learning a foreign language - hated French, love Spanish). However, what I see now is those boring lessons gave me the tools to analyse and reflect on what was both being said overtly and also what was being implied. I personally didn't realise this until much time had passed since finishing school. Of course, not everyone thrives in class, nor should they. It doesn't make you thick or worth less than someone else, I watch in awe as my tech works on my Zed, doing little jobs in second gear where I'd be sweating cobs in shear terror . I'm more suited to operating a spreadsheet than a spanner. One isn't better than the other, it's just different. All that said, I think actively discouraging people from gathering some education is irresponsible. For example: if you're one of the people cut out to be a entrepreneur, then how does having an education PREVENT you from becoming an entrepreneur? -
I want to settle down with it and have baby Nismos. Until just now, I've always been a, "don't understand buying a brand new car, instant depreciation when you drive off, etc etc" if this comes with a sensible monthly payment, I may just break my own rules.
