  8. along Michael, don't worry about your English, you've already shown you can use 'too' and 'to' correctly, so you're way ahead of us natives Great looking Zed, love the wheels
  9. So the lesson for the kids here is that punching is okay, as long as they punch you back? After that, get some eye gouging going lad, it teaches the oppo to respect you. Bloodgate anyone? Regular heroes these guys, whiter than white, cos their sentence starts with, "What-ho Sir!" and they don't use foul language. Anyone remember the England cricket team being p!ssed for a month after winning the Ashes for he first time in ages? The press are all fun and frolics and "look good old freddie drunk at number 10, what a guy!". I'm sure they'd be the same if it was Wayne and Co. FWIW - I don't think football is wonderful but I think it gets the kind of spotlight attention that no other sport does abd. I don't think sportsmen (or actors or pop stars for that matter) are supposed to be role models. Role models should be closer to home, people with which you can have two way communication.
  10. Jeeeez that looks sweet. Great colour, great Zed.

  12. Updated the firmware on my AVH-X2500BT and swapped out the iPhone 4 cabling for iPhone 5 - I hope they don;t change it for 6 Absolute bird's nest back there. Getting it to pieces is easy, but back together is no fun... ...espcially when you've got this length of cables to fit in there and a stupid big box - thanks Pioneer! Got there in the end. Today I've learnt: never take the console to bits without a telescopic magnet with a light on the end, always have a truck load of cable ties handy, don't assume the "pro" installation you paid for will be that tidy and don't start the job when the weather is iffy as you'll spend an hour or two in the car with the windows up sweating like a good 'un whilst it hammers down outside
  13. If rugby is being held up as an ideal, because they don't swear, it's worth looking these role models fighting each other on rugby pitches. Swing for someone in rugby and you get a sin bin, do it on a football pitch and it's a minimum 5 game ban for violent conduct. It's easy to see what you want when getting stuck in to footballers.
  14. It might be given in sport, but I don't understand why that means it doesn't count? That aside, no other sport has the breadth of reach and penetration into society that football clubs have. The Premier League and Football League covers 92 clubs, and that's just the UK. Which other sport comes close to that? Which other sports operate in nearly every country in the world, in some of the poorest parts of the world? Cricket? Rugby? Tennis? Golf? Athletics? Cycling? The only one I can think that comes close to being as ingrained in community, is boxing. I agree about the lunatics abusing disabled fans and idiots making monkey noises, it's shameful and needs to be punished much more severely and not by financial measures, but ones that pressure these fans into behaving or not going to games, but this isn't "the norm" in a football stadium, this is a very specific group of idiots.
  15. Whilst football is very far from ideally governed, there's virtually no media attention devoted to the great community work clubs do; players visiting local hospitals and childrens homes, handing out presents at christmas, giving kits and boots away to clubs abroad, summer schools, education facilities (not just for young players), access youngsters can get to players and the club on match day experiences and giveaways, free tickets for fans with disabilities and their carers. It's easy to forget the postive impact many clubs right down the football pyramid have on local communities - not to mention the sense of belonging which comes with having a local club, in what are often tough areas. It's easy to get caught up in the "Suarez bites again", "Rooney wants more money", "Balotelli is a bellend" side of football but that's only the most sensational side of the game which attracts the column inches. People like to beat up on footballers because they're extremely well paid (at the top levels) and generally not very bright. No one bats an eyelid and wheels out the role model outrage when rubbish actor X makes Y millions from appearing in Z rubbish toy advert movies - then goes on to have stretches in rehab, or drink driving bans, or sentences for assaults, or joins a cult. Football isn't perfect by any stretch, but is one place where nearly anyone can make it, all you need is a ball and two feet. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/manchester-citys-gareth-barry-gives-866940
  16. I liked Switzerland a lot. Only had a couple of days, but chuck in Monaco, Modena, Milan, Stelvio and then you got a real trip happening. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/76678-switzerland-road-trip-with-audi-a3-cabrio-tfsi/ Have a look here too. http://www.ultimatedrives.net/top-10-roads/index.php I think I'd like to do Scandinavia next...
  17. You can get puks for next to nowt on Amazon. Read the reviews, all they say is, "no idea if these are good for hockey, but I use them to jack my car up!" http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/cr/B0073UQTMI/ref=mw_dp_cr
  18. I shifted 4kg in a month (started 82.5kg) almost by accident, by simply going for a brisk walk every other day, 5km / 45 mins. I actually started it to sort out an intermittent bad back, but happily shifted some timber too. Now I've seen that work for both my back and my belly, I'm trying to make it a daily thing and be really quite disciplined through the week about not eating rubbish, then have an amnesty at the weekend if I'm out with mates for a drink and the inevitable kebab/pizza. I want to enjoy the finer things from time to time When you look at a day, 45mins is nothing to put to one side and when it's nice and sunny, it's good to go for a wander with some tunes on, zone out, relax, soak up some rays and look less pale . Doesn't cost a penny if you already have comfortable footwear. I think winter will be the test for me...
  19. Before I bought the Zed I rented from Enterprise for about a year, usually in 30-day lumps. The branch I used was good and their up front prices look good, but they do like to take your pants down on insurance. £700 excess unless you pay £12 ish waiver which cuts it down to £100. That's saving you £600 for a claim, so as a long term renter I baulked at the £12 per day as I figured that over any decent length of time, if I managed to not crash/be crashed into more regularly than once every 50 days the £12 wasn't worth it to reduce the excess. Conversely, if I rent one now for a long weekend, I pay the £12 per day, because it's not worth the ball ache and it's only a few days. A colleague had a tyre go pop on his, he dutifully rang the number and they sorted it but took the whole £700 excess and then refunded him £600 about a month later. He could have gone a got a ditchfinder put on himself for next to nowt. I rented last weekend and there was a chap in there who had his rental's windscreen cracked by something off the back of a lorry and they took his entire £700 for the new windscreen By and large, I got a great service and the chance to try loads of different motors. Over the year, I didn't need to claim so I saved roughly £60 a week not getting the excess reduction. Like any point of sale, strap on insurance, it's a pure profit generator so they sh!t you up with numbers like £700!!!!!
  20. Red_Nic generally speaking, it's easy to get caught up in the 'do this' and 'do that' but don't worry too much at first, once you've done it a couple of times you'll get a feel for the products and you'll quickly pick up your own ideas. If you're applying by hand you can't really do anything too wrong, so get stuck in and see what suits you're technique and the conditions you have for detailing. You'll learn fast.
  21. Why would do this, just when I've got a house deposit sorted!!!! Beautiful jaaaaag
