  1. Seems good to me, less than I pay and with less excess. Dealio.
  2. Anyone tried the Gyeon Tyre "Protecterant"? Put it on last week, had a spirited drive in the rain and it's vanished.
  3. If I hadn't already taken the plunge id be after one of these, they look decent and the ability to live view via your phone is handy when you're setting it up. Parking mode is great too and seems to be a must with the number of rents, scrapes and dings people are posting.
  4. With black wheels on a black zed I'd do for a polished/coloured lip. Otherwise you'll just have invisible wheels IMO.
  5. Excellent, thanks for the tips on those. Do they feel nice and secure? Must admit it's gonna feel weird sticking a decent gadget on a pole and dangling out a moving car or boat! Nice bit of lateral thinking on the telescopic paint roller
  6. The DCS store is fantastic, thanks for the tip Dan (not that my credit card will thank you ) you can do £150 in there in the blink of an eye I've got an old case, but it's storing an old camera - can't bear to chuck away something that works. I'm gonna need a suitcase just for toys at this rate...
  7. Sweet, two birds with one stone. What do you store it in?
  8. Got my GoPro for Florida road trip next month so now I need to spend the same again on accessories What I am after is suggestions for any/all of the following: - A big pole (ooo err) to stick it on. This must be telescopic and solid, I don't want to be fishing my unit out of a 'gator infested swamp. Or getting too close to Gentle Ben. - A proper suction mount. As as above, must REALLY stick on to stuff like airboats, Camaros or highly polished skulls. - A polarising filter that stays on and cuts glare and gives nice blue skies. - Anyone bought the battery extender? Any better than just buying a few spare batteries? - A shortish "grip" to hold it steady, but close to my face so I can see what I'm shooting. - A rugged carry case. - Anything else you have got/used that you find invaluable. If you could put a link in too, I'd get all moist. Thanks.
  9. You're right, it was time for a change.
  10. God only knows, non-petrolheads aren't easy to understand
  11. If you could grab a Win 7 disc off a mate, you could install it on VirtualBox/Parallels WITHOUT using their licence key, this would give you 30 days of access before it demanded you pay for it. Edie - scratch that, you don't even need to borrow a disc to run a 90 day trial http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-8-1-enterprise
  12. The scooby is out for reasons unknown, possibly snobbishness. The Focus is low on the list, really just on there as I fancy a test drive. If I was a betting man I'd say Mazda or Seat at this stage... Thanks all for your comments, no progress on this as my mate's sunning himself in Budapest.
  13. Nah den dee 'ows dar? along mate, get some pics up of the beast.
  14. I was just about to pull the trigger on the GoPro site but they're about £90 cheaper at Currys, so I'll go old skool and visit an actual shop tomorrow. Feel like a caveman...
  15. Just about to pull the trigger on GoPro but I see loads of footage with pronounced barrel distortion. I know you can deal with it in post production, but can you avoid it by some setting when you actually shoot?
  16. Due to an unplanned modification to my spat, via an unfriendly gate post, I thought I'd turn my hand to painting. It needs a proper respray so I figured I had something to practice on before I have a go at some of the larger stone chips. The two foot inspection just about passed Then just a little snap from the work car park because she looked so nice nestled in there..
  17. Which one is it? The link shows me three cars? None at £5k
  18. Love to read the insurance claim if there was any damage. "I was driving along, slowed down for an elephant, then it just scratched its nuts on the offside wing. There's some tusk damage too."
  19. Only just seen this, feel your pain mate. My Pioneer install by a pro was good, slight issue with the balance being the wrong way round, but they sorted that. After I fitted a reverse cam I ran the cabling past the my new amp (in the OEM space) and along the passenger door trim and round the footwell to the HU. Suffered from alternator whine immediately. After some trim removal and taping wires as far apart from each other as possible and earthing to a bolt somewhere else in the boot it just went away. If it's not the earth, which it probably is, it could be cross talk from another wire if the wiring has been done too or even behind the HU. Wish I'd known to try earthing it somewhere else to begin with, no one thing seemed to cure mine, just persistent tinkering. I'm hoping it doesn't come back in the winter when she sits at a higher RPM idle, once I'm going the exhaust hides a multitude of squeaks, whines and rattles. As for getting the centre console back in snuggly, mine was a real PITA this weekend when I changed the iPhone cabling. There's a bird's nest back there and it just wouldn't cram in. In the end I cable tied some of the bigger lumps out the way behind the plastic bits which are behind the HU (wish I'd taken a pic now) and shoved some boxes off to the side, just fitted back in after that. I'm loathe to take it out ever again!
  20. Stick a link to the build in your signature. Might just be me but I tend to click on them there, rather than browse the builds sub-forum. Keep going mate, one day you'll get to page 6 like me!!!!
  21. Just caught up on this one, after your subtle hint in the compression test thread. Cool build love the '70 rear bumper. Skillz doing that all yourself.
  22. I saw this in the "paper" to day and had to share it, just buffing out some scratches on the bonnet with an er... elephant Got any animal v car pics you want to share
