  1. Great work, these are so gorgeous, add in the Martin tribute and its really magic build. Looks like this would be much easier with a hoist mate
  2. It's not just Col's that's good, there's them Aussie ones with the V8s in that they slap Vauxhall badges on. That said, I'd sooner have a Fiesta ST, Scirrocco, one of the sporty Seats, Skoda VRS, Toyabaru, Honda, Kia, Hyundai...
  3. This is some world class whataboutery. Impressive.
  4. Careful. Agreeing with the daily fail is not just a disciplinary matter, it means you're dangerously close to disconnecting from reality.
  5. Great effort saving one, that's a gold star right away.
  6. It's not a proper lockdown unless there's a Zed Shed update. And also jelly!
  7. I have been looking for an excuse to try out the new mic for my DSLR... I do have a channel, but it's more a tool for sharing stuff with you lot than an actual attempt to court viewers! https://www.youtube.com/user/sasontheroad/videos
  8. Just in case anyone was wondering what she sounds like.
  9. Thanks all for zee warm welcome. Spent most the time scared TBH
  10. I am coming up fast on 4 years with the BRZ, which was about the same time I got itchy feet in the Zed. This time I decided to break from tradition and went for something without a Z in the name, also something not from Japan. I know, I was surprised too... Please give a warm welcome to Heinz, The Baron, Krauss von Espy (we might come up with a shorter name in due course) from Stuttgart. A 2014 Cayman GTS with PDK; and a couple of other choice (if I do say so myself) options - Porsche Torque Vectoring and the Sports chassis. Naturally, being the GTS, they throw in the Sports Exhaust and Chrono Pack for "free". Arriving just yesterday (I even reversed it off the transporter, that was no fun) I've only had a chance to do a few hours behind the wheel, but I can tell already that we are going to get on famously. The weather was grim, so I hope some moody ones make it look a bit less grey. Aside from the fact it's about 5 times more car than I have the talent to exploit, it's the city driving enjoyment that has surprised me the most, so far. The PDK is a dream in town, pootling about, at low revs, with the occasional throttle squeeze to work into traffic. Even with the 20mm drop and the 20 inch rims, the ride is night and day from the BRZ. The level of refinement indoors, it's a different ball game too - but then, it should be. The only low point is the paint is not great, a number of chips and a bigger number of swirls need attention. Back to the positives, I have had a chance for some more spirited enjoyment, wow, it moves! I thought it was fast in regular but Sport and Sport Plus are just mental. And the noise OOOOOOHHHHH THE NOISE! Hope you don't mind me pic whoring too much - as you can probably tell, I'm rather excited.
  11. I don't fully trust mine with payments (I know tin foil hat) and it's also on the wrong wrist for drive thru!
  12. It's handy if you already have your phone out, or are sat on your wallet (drive thru!)
  13. Had some belters in so far - still need more though please gang.
  14. Irrespective of his politics, he could equally be screeching left wing rubbish, instead of right. He's a sociopath and an example of what happens, however clever/stupid/poor/rich you are, if you go your whole life being told that you are better than everyone else, correct (in the face of overwhelming evidence) and never corrected for inappropriate behaviour. It could be his diminished empathy is a genetic condition or a social one - either way, the effect is much the same. Sadly this could be any one of us, if we were treated that way for 70 years.
  15. Not entirely true, his team have found a sex offender and an eye/ear witness (who immediately recanted his story), they're both kinds of evidence.
  16. As I understand it, and I'm not an engineer, the run flats have significantly stiffer sidewalls to cope with having no air. On cars where the suspension was not designed to run such a stiff sidewall, this will have an impact on feel/tramlining etc. I wouldn't go as far as Attak and say the car manufacturer knows best - in terms of brand - when nearly 20 years have passed since the tyres were originally specced for the Z (were they Bridgestone RE040s from the factory?) but when it comes to the manufacturer choosing non-run flat v run flat, I would personally stick with that decision (whichever brand you go for). As above, I changed from the Bridgestone RE040s that my car came with from the PO, to Michelin MPSS and immediately noticed an elimination of tramlining and also significant improvements in both wet and dry handling. Obviously that's not really an option these days, but I'd be looking at the next nearest alternative if I was still in a Zed.
  17. Did you change tyre at the same time? When I refurbed my alloys I was amazed at the tramlining disappearing, then I realised it was the switch from Bridgestone to Michelin that was the root cause
  18. Sorry Steve, only just seen this. No idea sadly.
  19. Ain’t that the truth. I’ve taken matters into my own judgement, I feel genuinely sorry for people who do what you’re supposed to and trust the official advice, without question.
  20. Weird thing is, it mainly coincided with the genius that is eat out to help out and both schools and universities being open, all of which were avoidable.
  21. Saddest I’ve ever been for someone I don’t know. So many great movies. Just a cast iron legend.
