  1. Get a card, you need one for Zeditis anyway, plus a well serviced card is a boost to your credit rating - so really, you're just doing it as good financial sense
  2. Looks top, '70s are getting more attractive with each passing day.
  3. Given that we're a single model club, the meets are likely to have similar looking cars at them, with the odd Jaaaag or GTR thrown in for diversity
  4. If you can't persuade your money back (it's a pretty dirty thing to do if it was sold knowingly as a ticking bomb) then get it to a specialist, the bill might not be that big. Good luck, feel for you bud.
  5. Dan sold it to him Check the tyres, if they're mixed all round it's defo bought from Dan
  6. There's at least one fully rally decaled up classic scooby round my way. I'm always disappointed when I look inside and it's all OEM, resplendent with back seats, no roll cage and regular seat belts. I say do it, but go balls deep FTW!
  7. Elegant solution, I've got one sitting in the boot cos I couldn't figure out where to mount it up front. I'm shamlessly going to copy this
  8. Well if the Zed doesn't have MPSS he will surely just spin out & die. *Dramatization ~ may not actually be true* Don't say that, I'm taking mine off this week
  9. I park nose up, same thing, slightly smaller puddle.
  10. Wheels look great, it's a very nicely put together Zed
  11. Yeah, I see what you're saying but I think judging a qualification by its origin not its content is one of the great barriers to social mobility. To me a set of three A stars from non selective school is worth the same as those same grades from a selective school. There are only a finite nunber of places available at "red brick" establishments, if these all go to the "best" people, that assumes there is only the exact same number of "best" people as there are spaces. Which is a daft assumption
  12. Not controversial, it's just branding IMO. I went to a university that used to be a polytechnic and studied Business and Technology. I feel that's more vocational than academic, but to all intents and purposes it's the same studying I would have done if it was a poly as if it was a uni. It took the same number of years as a degree and I worked hard, in stints, to get it. The only reason I believe they should all be under the brand of "university" is that it cuts down some of the two tier bull**** that some people have about assuming a university qualification is "better" than a vocational one, purely and simply because of the name of the institution and not the amount of study work put I achieving it.
  13. Two particularly valuable things stood out to me about my time studying for a degree: 1) it involved a mandatory 1 year placement, so I learned invaluable real workplace things that you don't get from studying (timekeeping, behaving in a professional environment, thinking on my feet, how to engage colleagues at different levels in an organisation, etc). 2) that there's loads more I learned at uni that's nothing to do with studying, such as how to live away from home and run a household/pay bills on time/etc. Also coming from a fairly limited diversity, white, working class part of the country, I got to meet people from different ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds - which broadened my horizons immeasurably. My best and closest mates are still the ones I met at uni in 1999. All in, I think Univerity is a great opportunity for anyone, whether you chose to do something academic or vocational. If it was free (as it should be in a developed and civilised country) I think you miss out on something if you don't go. However, I totally recognise that some don't want it, even if it didn't cost a penny, and go on and do really well - so it's far from a must have, more a good to have if you want to do it. Then there's the more recent element of "I'd go if it didn't cost £30k", which is totally wrong, education should be free. Living in the real world, no one should be barred from education because they're not rich, but there is a tough choice to make. I'd rather pay a few quid more tax and no poorer kid misses out on uni due to not having the means, than save the tax money, but it's not everyone's point of view. Would I encrourge my fictional children to go? Absolutely. Would I go mental if they chose a vocation instead? No, by the time you get to that age you've got to make your own choices.
  14. Check out the member builds, there's inspirational stuff in there. Not all of it will dent your plastic (though most of it will )
  15. Adidas store has got 15 % off for first timers too, plus 25% if you buy 4 items.

  17. No worries. I've no doubt there are better units out there (also with 2 channels, 1 for a rear facing cam) but it's good value at the price. Make sure you read up on dashcamtalk about the battery discharge protection, you don't want to drain it.
  18. Great work on the dash, it's better than the one in my Zed Fancy coming round and refurbing mine
  19. Check out this thread I started on the Innovv, I think they have a slighlty newer model now but the one I bought is inexpensive, decent quality and simple to set up and use. It's not hard wired up in my Zed as I intended to use it only for captruing track fun and road trips. It's just been 3000 miles around the southern US with me and never gives me any grief. I am now tempted to get a power magic so it's perma on and I can use the parking mode. The case gets warm, but it's not overheated as yet. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/84566-innovv-c1-dash-cam-review/ I like it because it has the features (1080p, decent low light quality, g-sensor) but it doesn't have GPS so there's less chance of it incriminating you if you happen to be near the speed limit when someone pulls out of that junction... Check out https://dashcamtalk.com for some reviews of loads of cams There's a battery protector here too with good English translation which "prevents terror against your vehicle" http://lukashd.com/eng/product_info/power_lock_4.html
  20. If you want to go full detailing geek, watch some AMMO vids, I think they're perfectly pitched for most people. There's one or two in there about glass care. http://www.ammonyc.com/videos/ The FIRST place to start is here, basic wash. http://www.ammonyc.com/detailing/basic-car-wash/ Then some tips on what not to do http://www.ammonyc.com/detailing/top-10-detailing-mistakes/
  21. Interesting as the idea is, I'd resist the urge to top up your washer fluid with wax. If you want good run off from your glass, there's RainX at the budget end. Some people hate it but I found it did it's job so long as you keep the glass clean and top it up. Make sure the glass is properly clean first (maybe pick up some specific glass cleaner) and you have a number of microfibre towels handy as it can be a pain to buff off and you don't want streaks. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/221300324152?limghlpsr=true&hlpv=2&ops=true&viphx=1&hlpht=true&lpid=108&chn=ps&device=t&adtype=pla&crdt=0&ff3=1&ff11=ICEP3.0.0-L&ff12=67&ff13=80&ff14=108 At the other end of the spectrum there's better, longer term products like g techniq. Which are a different league in quality but take some time and effort to apply correctly - the biggest rule being less is more http://www.theultimatefinish.co.uk/gtechniq/clearvision-screen-kit.aspx Whilst you're at it. If you want the paint to have nice water run off, with minimal effort, the easiest product I've found for this is EcoTouch Quick Wax. It's cheap and a doddle to use. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eco-Touch-Quick-Wax-500ml/dp/B00705RQRI/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1402239175&sr=8-2&keywords=eco+touch+quick+wax With detailing stuff, everyone has their own favourites, people will recommend loads of expensive and inexpensive products. Generally speaking, none of them are "right" or "wrong" just what you prefer. There are some rules that are definitive, two buckets being one of them. Also never put anything on the paint that's touched your wheels (cloths, towels, mitts, etc). Lastley, welcome to the party!
  22. I've got a bit of a boner for sonax products at the mintue, the BSD and wheel cleaner are current favs. Good to see another one of thier products getting a run out. I'll add this to my things to try list, thanks for sharing. Looks well after the rain. Anything that can cope with the sand/dust that gets in the rain round here is a god send.
  23. I know you used this a couple of pages back, Glacier Wax Pure 001 shampoo, and noted the outrageous price. Well today I got round to using my waxybox sample and I REALLY like this shampoo, the persistance of the suds and level of lubrication just pushed this onto my A-Rated list (we'll see how my wallet fells about it long term ) Went to order some and found they're bundling up with a couple of other products at £25 http://www.glacierwax.co.uk/car-care/wash/pure-001-500-ml-car-shampoo-2/
