  1. Sadly my trip is on hold for the moment, but watching this with interest. Driving the Zed 1500 miles to get to Norway might not be the best idea! I was tempted to take the Zed, but I just didn't want to stick 3k on her just getting to and from the start of a road trip. If I'm doing that it best be somewhere warm where I can enjoy her, like down to Monaco or Italy. I've got no real idea what the Scando roads will be like inland (where I believe you can still ski this time of year), away from the milder coast the average temps can be low, so I planned on a Range Rover Sport rental, as I've never driven an RR and thought it might be fun and vaguely practical. Sadly that's gone to balls now as they all have only limited mileage (max 1800-2000km) then it's something mental like 40-90p per KM after that and I can see us doing over 3000km in total. A few lads have dropped out, so the bills are going to be considerable if I'm not careful. Probably end up with 5 series / E class / A6 which will be rubbish in the cold but at least it's someone elses!
  2. How much for that? The discs are £215 a pair and the pads just short of £190 all round. You can check out all the Clark's goodies and prices at http://clarkmotorsport.co.uk but always worth dropping the guys a PM to see if they are running any promos on new products. The pads are probably a bit OTT for my needs, but I've found them to be great on a couple of track days and just normal spirited use (also run HEL lines and RBF 600 fluid). They've got good bite from cold, which gives you confidence first thing in the morning. I was tempted to go cheaper on the pads this time, but in the end I thought I'd kick myself if I changed to save a few quid and maybe then didn't like them as much. The stopping performance has been superb so I am really looking forward to trying them with the new discs.
  3. Sexy, even taken them to bed a stu ! Only flat surface that wouldn't collapse under the weight
  4. I've been to Oslo before, so I'm braced for the prices, not much change out of £8 for a pint Might catch a moose early on and just put it on the roof of the Volvo, should last for snacks for a the fortnight Arctic Circle is a good shout, I'd like to get up that far and see the Atlantic road along the way.
  5. This lot just arrived today Worth it just for the Haribo Thanks Ewen
  6. Me and a couple of mates are heading for a 2 week road trip round Denmark / Norway / Sweden, I'm just securing my Volvo rental (as I refuse to take the zed all that way, just to put snow socks on her) and doing a route. Has anyone got any tips on: • things to see and do? • places to see (beyond the capitals!)? • roads to drive? • the cheapest way to get drunk in Scandinavia? • how to look manly in a sauna full of 7ft vikings? Really want to do some sort of karting or driving experience on snow, so any tips there would be amaze ballz! Thanks. Stu
  7. Christ, I was fuming about a 2cm dent, at least you caught the swine. I'd go via my insurer but failing that you want the cash up front for the bodywork, based on a cast iron quote from the bodyshop. Good luck bud!
  8. Not used them, so please don't set me alight, but that seems insanely good value for 'top end'. Direct from the MTEC website they are the most inexpensive pad offering to combine with the MTEC discs. http://www.mtecbrakes.com/brake-discs/nissan/350z-coupe-03-10/350z-coupe-3-5-v6-10-03-01-10.html
  9. That's a sensational price for pads and discs all round!
  10. It would seem unlikely but as its a thirty second check I thought I'd throw it out there
  11. If you do open the door, check the door close rubber nipple, mine got unseated and it couldn't tell the door was open. It's dead easy to see once you open the door and eyeball the door catch area (on the body not on the door!). When you push it in and out with the door open the window should pop up and down like when you're closing/opening it. I had the whole door to pieces at least once before I checked this
  12. Brilliant! I don't want to see any more mods or repairs that don't involve lathing something!
  13. Rubbish, I took out and put back two seats in less time than that today and I'm a mechanical re tard.
  14. Brilliant! Rubber pants on order...
  15. Excuse my geogrpahy if I'm wrong, but you've got Horsham Developments and Abbey Motorsport nearby, so you're spoilt for choice. I've not used either myself but from what appears on here, they're both extremely well regarded. Be rude not to do some mods and get a remap whilst your there
  16. TBH I find that once they've been out the packet for a few days, they all seem to go a bit weak. I generously drenched the under seat area with Hubri Fresh whilst it was out, which is probably my favourite air freshener. Though the Nanolex one in the WB branded box is currently doing a tremendous job battling some fairly noxious smells in my bathroom
  17. WHERE'S THE GODDAM VIDEO???
  18. I've been wanting to do this for ages but was scared by the thought of taking an airbag to the face however, I was Inspired by Granville's hoovering, I set about taking the seats out, mainly to clean under them, but also to clean the sides of the seat which are up against the tunnel and the tunnel itself. Whilst it's important to leave your doors open when the battery is disconnected, it's even more important to save your levels and crossover settings!! All the guides said it was just a matter of four bolts, but it's the dam cable ties under the seat that they don't tell you about that are actually the PITA. After some swearing and delicate use of a scalpel, 10 years of muck revealed NowI can sleep at night now, knowing there's nothing untoward lurking down there! Certainly none of the horror stories to hear about chicken nuggets like in ilogikal1's Zed Actually really pleased with the ease of cleaning and results on the carpet. The seats wee a doddle too, much easier to clean on the deck and managed to really shift some filth off the lower parts you just can't reach in the car. Forgot the pics though . Nothing fancy used on them, just a foam applicator and some Auto Glym Leather Cleaner - didn't do a balm/feed stage. Lessons Learned Today 1. Get the power seats in the right position before disconnecting the battery. 2. Take the headrest off before trying to lift the seat out. 3. The seats are heavy, if you want to save Zed weight get rid of them and replace with something in marble. 4. Don't hoover first, then stand in the car to clean the interior trim 5. Take a photo of your subwoofer setting as well as the others...
  19. Penny pinching aside, why not use Bathe+ everytime? I really like to get layers of protection down and keep topping them up.
  20. What I like about doing the interior jobs is that once you get it up to a good standard, it only takes a few minutes to keep it spotless inside. The outside is a never ending job I might pop my seats out tomorrow as I've never been able to really get them as clean as I want down the sides.
  21. Happiest looking Zed I've seen on here. Great bumper smile!
  22. Is this a real post, or ironic? If it's the latter If it's the former. Holy shitballz!!!!!! I can't imagine what it must be like to work UNDER PRESSURE, it's only people with first hand experience of TV that have ever worked UNDER PRESSURE, no other job comes with spending time UNDER PRESSURE, it's a carte blanche to behave how you want if you work UNDER PRESSURE for at least some point in your career. I imagine being UNDER PRESSURE is the worst when you're alreayd a multi-millionaire and already able to pay for the rest of your life many times over if you got the sack tomorrow. These stupid lazy proles who's bank balance might cover the next 3 months if they got sacked from thier 9-5 jobs, have no idea what it's like to be UNDER PRESSURE. I'm getting angry just THINKING about the PRESSURE of being a Top Gear presenter, imagine how difficult it must be to actually be one. Is there somewhere we can donate to help? Maybe a support group for TV presented survivors? Totaly f***ing joke of an excuse for behaving like a cast iron ****.
  23. Gutted for you mate, that's shitty behaviour. Hopefully, once you sort these, it'll be a good car in the long term. Good luck getting it resolved.
  24. A good snow foam should (in this order): Be fun to use. Be thick like shaving foam. Smell nice. Not leave a mess on the drive. Upset neighbours on windy days. Stop you installing defects in the paint.
