  1. If the pump is being driven harder than usual, premature wear/failure might be a longer term issue. I switched in a shiny one and it made a nasty whine. I tried varying fluid levels, tried leaving the lid a few screws short of tight to let air move in and out. In the end I gave up and went back to stock with a lick of paint on it. Is it baffled? I can't remember if the OEM one has a bit in the bottom to stop it cavitating.
  2. What about a 240/280 mix up? http://qclassiccars.be/EN/stock/detail.aspx#!211
  3. That's an incident report if I ever I saw one. Buy a lottery ticket!
  4. Actually given as a reason for many a divorce within the UK! If you've got time to get married in the first place, you're not taking your management career seriously enough
  5. Football Manager stole my life.
  6. Knowing Matt it'll be from PB http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/what-does-polishing-do.html# Scroll down to the bottom and it's there.
  7. Oh my, it's such a beauty, you must be delighted - fantastic work
  8. Glad you got it sorted(ish). If you do go in for round 2, I struggled to get mine back in due to wires being bunched up behind the HU. Ended up cable tying a lot of them deeper in/to the side, behind the recess and out of the way (after much swearing and trying to just jam the HU in)
  9. That's well TRON, do it OP!
  10. On my GM, I find it hard to spot finer defects (which is great in so many ways) but every time I pulled up at a petrol station at night, they popped right out of the paint under the lights. If you're not sure you're making a difference perhaps a light might be helpful? Not one of the mental £600 super lights, but I picked this up to help find them and check progress http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00F9ZH4O6 I'd love to have a properly lit indoor space.. This less expensive option was recommended too, http://www.amazon.co.uk/SecurityIng®-Zoomable-Adjustable-Flashlight-Waterproof/dp/B00BJESR3S/ref=sr_1_6?s=diy&ie=UTF8&qid=1405028064&sr=1-6&keywords=zoomable+torch but it appears to be out of stock
  11. WELCOME ALONG
  12. Fixed for you. Vista was a disaster. Win 8 wasn't perfect. Win 7 and 8.1 are as good as you could ever want in a domestic environment, and I can't see 10 being anything other than a nice improvement on what is already an awesome OS. There's a revolutionary new feature called a "Start" menu. God knows what it'll do...
  13. Speaking of Test Approaches. I was just reading some Agile bullshit in the office and it included this, which made me smile. "I don't test my code often, but when I do, I do it in production."
  14. If you look hard enough there's generally a release note somewhere on the web, with details. I've yet to see a Windowz Known Error Log. Perhaps they're too long...
  15. I've seen a few posts where people have used the soapy water from the wash as clay lube. Even some where they use fairy liquid instead of shampoo, (don't tell anyone I used the F word) which sort of makes sense if you're stripping right back to naked paint, but I'd be tempted to fill a new soapy wash bucket (with shampoo not FL), and use that. Either way, should be cheaper than QD or a dedicated clay lube like DJ Born Slippy - though it is relatively cheap, so it's not a big deal if you clay about once a year like me.
  16. Cali! So jealous, can you get to an In-N-Out and ship me a burger? You'll have a full set of V8 furniture before long
  17. If you're tempted to pull the trigger, make sure you clone the hard drive first, so you can always go back.
  18. I've had the "technical preview" on a VM for a while. Much better than Windows 8. I'm guessing the live version will be a further improvement. It's nearly caught up with Macintosh System 7. You haven't missed 9, it's been Windows "Nein!" since 1985
  19. Obivously it's BS but If the nuts were too tight, why not call you and state there's a risk of damage? Then at least you could decide.
  20. I'd not noticed streaking, maybe because it's GM, which is a forgiving colour. I'll keep an eye out next time. Don't know if you've got a pressure washer but Gyeon WetCoat is epic if you do, for sheer laziness alone. As Dan rightly says open ended hose or even a watering can (no sprinkler!) is a winner. Is your water particularly hard?
  21. I'm not exactly a huge fan of waxes myself. Once you get through your current lot (which should be fairly quickly at those rates!) perhaps see if you get on with DJ Red Mist Tropical. It's a piece of **** to use and takes next to no time in comparison to waxing, treat yourself to some decent microfibres to make your life easy. The results won't be as good as doing it properly, but I'd wager you'll be happy to reach for it after every wash as it's a doddle to apply. http://www.i4detailing.co.uk/shop/dodo-juice-red-mist-tropical-spray-detailer.html I'll pop my flame retardant suit on now, for being a wax philistine
  22. I could be wrong, but from what I've read on here, after the battery is disconnected for a while the ECU is reset. It sorts itself over a short period after you start driving again. I don't believe it's related to your driving style. If you're going for an uprev the throttle response is usually sharpened up on the new map, and you'll have that all the time.
  23. Stunner, even in estate form. Worth getting up for work half an hour early for a quick loosener!
