  1. along, sounds like you're pleased with it
  2. The only reason I know to drop them before a battery change is to stop you doing damage should you close the doors - there'll be no auto-drop/raise for the glass with no juice. If it currently doesn't drop at all (not even a little?) then you're already running the risk of glass colliding with the door frame each time you close it. I'd just leave the doors open whilst your swapping it over and then be super careful closing them the first time after the swap. I'd probably do the window reset afterward too just beacuse it's dead easy and takes two ticks.
  3. Love your car Andy, looks the dogs doo dars! Yeah it certainly does. What are those skirts? FIT
  4. Cool wasn't meant to be a compliment Dan, That would be sick Grandad
  5. This has at least one quasi-traditional radio station, like Radio 1 but even more cool and thankfully no rejects from T4 as yet. Then there's the bit that plays stuff based on stuff you tell it you like. Then there's the juke box element, where you can just search for and play any song you like on demand (there's probably a few artists that aren't signed up, if you're a Prince fan, you might disapointed). Give it a whirl, it's free for now.
  6. How come nothing has been painted GREEN yet FFS?
  7. When a mummy horse and a daddy horse love each other very much, they could make a free baby horse. ICE can't do that, therefore is worse and there is no use case which can be put forward that disproves that ICE is a step forward from horses. Should we even have moved from ox power to horses at all Who ever fancies a bowl of horsetail soup...
  8. That is a bit spesh, great vid If you could get one for a sensible monthly payment, I could be tempted to turn sandal wearer 120 miles a day is way more than the average daily car commute, I wouldn't fancy a European Road Trip much though
  9. Had a quick spin up to the Lakes to see relatives, couldn't resist a quick snap on Birker Fell. Wish I'd taken the proper camera, it was glorious up there.
  10. Been using it across my pad, phone and mac so far, no issues. I'm not a spotify premiumer so I thought I'd soak up the 3 months free and see what this subsrciption model is like. It's mainly because I keep hearing myself say, "there's not being anything good since the 90s" so I wanted someone else to do the legwork and point me at new music. I'm more interested in the radio side than the juke box. Beats One is so increbibly cool I actually thought I was listening to a parody of an incredibly cool radio station, felt like playing GTA The DJs from LA when I was "plugged in" and "holding tight" were unintenionally hilarious, it felt like an episode of Nathan Barley. Anyway, that aside, enjoying it in places so far, but I'm not yet sure if they'll get my tenner in 3 months time.
  11. Bringing one back from the dead is ace but we need pics
  12. No worries fellas, I've got some pretty slick tech at my finger tips
  13. Not a terrible choice as a replacement, hope you're as happy with the porker.
  14. A GREAT accountant is one of the very best things on which you can spend money, I know this because I got a GREAT VALUE acountant, so I've had to be much more hands on than I initially wanted to be. On the plus side, I've learnt alot. On the down side I've had more contact from HMRC than I would like. This might be a bit soon for your anticipated size of operation but well worth thinking about. Getting on the Flat Rate VAT scheme was one of the best things I've done. For my sector, that means I charge VAT at 20% (like everyone else) but I pay VAT back at a Flat Rate of 14.5%, this is obviously favourable. Also, when I enrolled you got a 1% discount in the first year, so paid it back at 13.5% - making it even more attractive. Having that coming in, even if you are under the mandatory VAT turnover threshold is very useful for cash flow, as you get the cash in upfront on top of your invoice. Do remember to put some away for the quarterly bill though and don't ever miss paying that bill, of all of them it's highly important! I'd also see what trade bodies might apply to your sector, as they often can get you good deals on services (a lot like being on here) and free advice from experienced people. I pay something like £260 a year for mine and I get legal support and access to cheaper tax specialists etc etc. I wish I'd done it sooner, as I paid nearly 4 times that for something like 6 hours specialist advice I needed becuase of what I've said in the first paragraph
  15. Belkin cup holder mount FTW, it goes everywhere you do and doesn't have to be stuck to anything. http://www.belkin.com/uk/p/P-F8J168/ 60% of the time, it works everytime.
  16. Whilst everyone is at everyone, what's with the multiple full stops after most of your posts? Lifted from Wikipedia... Ellipsis (plural ellipses; from the Ancient Greek: ἔλλειψις, élleipsis, "omission" or "falling short") is a series of dots that usually indicates an intentional omission of a word, sentence, or whole section from a text without altering its original meaning.[1] Depending on their context and placement in a sentence, ellipses can also indicate an unfinished thought, a leading statement, a slight pause, a mysterious, echoing voice, or a nervous or awkward silence. Aposiopesis is the use of an ellipsis to trail off into silence—for example: "But I thought he was . . ." When placed at the beginning or end of a sentence, the ellipsis can also inspire a feeling of melancholy or longing.
  17. As a keen drunk, I'm extremely happy
  18. We should have more quizzes, maybe multiple guess with radio buttons. Winner gets a boner and to feel special. Loser gets belittled, perhaps in some sort of stocks with their pants down?
  19. I'm intrigued, what makes you think that a combination of new technology and all the extensive R&D that goes with that will mean that the resulting product will become cheaper in the mid-term? Currently the Leaf is virtually double the price of the Micra, how will ploughing a lot of money into developing an EV that can still only do circa half the range of the comparable ICE bring down the price of said EV? Or do you suppose that the price of the increasingly reduntant ICE car will double as a result of selling in fewer numbers? The depreciation and high purchase price is only an issue if you plant to actually own the thing, I'm not convinced that most people own thier cars outright, I don't have the stats but from the look of my car park at work and talking to colleagues, most are paying some sort of monthly payment. So if you can pay the same per month as you can for and ICE vehicle, but have virtually no fuel bills and no road tax (are they cheap to insure?), does it matter that it's not yours? Also, you get a new one every few years, which with the pace of change is perfect for the EV model of ownership as a second car, which let's face it is the only way you'd have one. You'd need a proper car as well.
  20. When I did my reverse cam I seem to remember there being a rubber hole in the boot into the bumper recess. It'd a PITA to keep taking in and out, but if you could fit it there perma and just connect when needed it might be good for exhaust racket and also minimal wind as it's behind the bumper. I'll see if I can find a pic. Shamelessly lifted from here. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/56481-kenwood-ddx-4028bt-rear-cam-install-–-superguide/
