  1. I can't compare Nic, yours is measured differently isn't it? If you can report the temps at the MAF then we can compare.
  2. Yes. It used to be ambient. Now it's gone up to 30 with that Mishimoto oil cooler right next to it. Bah!
  3. I think the frozenboost answer might involve getting creative with brackets, as Adrian suggested. I'm not flipping my crash bar. Either that or sell the thing and find a different sized cooler.
  4. I'm (as usual) not sure it is that simple. Nissan use a draw through MAF configuration on our cars (and on the GT-R if I'm not mistaken) for a good reason I guess. Perhaps that might be cost. I would like to understand more about this to be able to separate actual measured engine behaviour from falling back to the status quo every time. It is in my nature to question everything and get observations done to validate assumptions.
  5. Dunno how accurate the OBDII reader is but it roughly corresponds with what the car is telling me via the MFD 86 is a usual temp for the coolant now.
  6. Sounds promising. Front (left to right as you look at the car) Power steering Mishimoto Dual air filters on the y pipe Behind that: Stock radiator. As my car has an oil/coolant HX I have noticed that with the mishimoto oil cooler and the thermostat at 85 degrees that the oil only gets to 85 degrees unless I give the car something of a workout. With the coolant/oil HX I have noticed that the coolant is also a notch lower than it used to be without the oil cooler.
  7. I have a small fan that runs permanently sandwiched on to the stillen HX. A little 6.5" thing. I figured that at street speeds I would rather get the benefit of forced cooling. At high speed the fan would get in the way of the rad doing its utmost. Anyway, it all seems to work quite well. That said, I want to install a way of measuring the intercooler efficiency. Ecutek alone isn't the solution Nic. Nice bit of kit but your chappy at Lichfield delivered a whole bunch of changes to optimise your car. I can't go down that route as have the auto.
  8. Not marvellous pics but it is there. These are what I sent to Nic to help him figure out where it should go.
  9. I do have the shroud thingy. Want pics?
  10. I'll ask him about this also. I bet Nick would be interested too. What do you make of the shield between the hot oil cooler and air intake as per swiss370z did? Looks sensible.
  11. Yes absolutely. I'd describe it as a nervousness to it. Its fine if you are going or not going, but just keeping up with traffic with light throttle has this nervy feeling to it. I wonder what causes this?
  12. Mini update: I'm taking the car back in to Horsham for a few adjustments to the tune: The torque falls off a wall below 4k, where the car feels gutless (this is all relative). It manifests itself as a lack of urge when you drop down to overtake until the revs climb. What would have been one cog on the old map is two on this map. Gearbox fine tuning, plus fluid level check at the appropriate temps. (It makes a strange noise now and then, and doesn't always shift promptly). Mini issues: its a never ending list of tweaks coming up: Rattle from ARBs somewhere. That's what it sounds like anyhow. A knocking/rattle at low speeds when the car rolls over a bump Fix a little bottle round the stillen coolant bottle overflow pipe. Don't want that dripping down into the wheel well. Move the ambient air temp sensor to a better place (i.e. not right behind the oil cooler). Project ideas: Either sell the Frozenboost type 101 air-water intercooler or figure out how to fit the bloody thing without damaging the crash bar. Make a divider to separate the oil and steering radiators from the air intakes like this thing that swiss370z did on the US forum Play then win the lottery and buy a Ferrari 488 GTB That thing looks amazing. ps. I figured out a way to normalise the data between dynos so that I could see whether the torque difference was significant (as a trend, rather than an absolute comparison). It looks like this:
  13. After much shopping with Torqen this is what an Ark GRiP system looks like under the car. Also red Eibach ARBs. Green-ness from the grass underneath the car!

    Kazz LSD

Interesting — nice that its a direct fit. Personally I prefer the way Quaife do things, even though it took a while for me to get to the bottom of fitting the Quaife on my auto with LSD. The Quaifes are direct fit for every other combo (350zs and 370z manuals). I wonder whether it'd be easy to compare them? With Quaife by the way there is zero maintenance. The torque is always continuously adjusted to go to the wheel with the most grip, hence the 'automatic torque biasing' idea (that is, they don't transition quickly to a lockup state). It is purely mechanical (geared) so there is zero maintenance, and they are quiet.
  15. Put some pennies aside for the Art pipes — you won't regret it.
  16. That's cos it is expensive You up for a meet down at sidmouth? Check out the south west meets section ..... Bah! Not as spendy as Adrian's Titanium system IMHO those Motordyne ART pipes transformed the system, honestly it sounds amazing with them on. Sidmouth? Definitely. June is looking a bit busy already but July onwards should be okay.
  17. Nic you need to hear my exhaust — It sounds so good! Motordyne ART pipes, Ark GRiP system. No rasp, great sound, just a bit of stainless 'zing'. Sounds expensive
  18. Just another little note - thanks to Adrian for replacing the SPL endlinks with the correct part in good time, no fuss just everything sorted. Perfect.
  19. Cool. Let me know. I'm mostly around now, no more India trips for a while.
  20. About 10k. 39k on the clock now, was installed at 28.5k miles a year ago.
  21. Hopefully these will be legible. Not bad numbers. 469 hp, about 345 tq. Estimate 394 hp at wheels. I guess the upgraded torque converter etc in the tranny are more effort to turn.
  22. I had rasp with the decat and oem exhaust. I had intrusive volume in the cabin as the 'temporary fit' of the ark was touching the diff jack point and vibrating. Now that the exhaust is on the right way up, and the motordyne pipes are on, I'd say it's a good sound. Like Shirley Bassey gargling with a single malt into a festival sound system. It's a touch loud, but no worries about the tone. There's some hiss from it, as to be expected with a system like this.
