  1. Oh definitely! I want to see that stillen bumper. Good cooling apparently.
  2. I spoke to Jez about this actually. Sounds wise. Also about he frozenboost, and actually that my heat issues only started when I got the oil cooler! That thing is a huge heat pump straight into the inlet.
  3. https://vimeo.com/133484090 I reset the ECU with the pedal dance, and the pending codes went. The stored ones are still there. What it does seem to have done is bring the AFR back to normal ish. That pulley I zoomed in on is the one that wobbles a bit. Here's what I measured as AFR when I thought that I could smell a lot of unburned fuel... Eek!
  4. Bah! Reggie's thrown some codes and running ridiculously rich. O2 sensors banks 1 and 2 low voltage P0131 and P0151. The AFR was reading between 10-11, and no power to speak of. Popped the hood and checked for boost leaks, nothing I can see immediately wrong but one of the pulley idlers is rattling and can be wobbled by hand. I've reset the ECU and will investigate further when the engine has cooled sufficiently. Car to Jez for a look tomorrow. This depresses me. Time to sell up and get a diesel estate with no mods. :-/
  5. Mine was hot today. An hour of A-road driving, 5 mins in the petrol station heat soaking whilst I filled up, local roads with 15 mins of traffic. When I got home I popped the hood and measured the temp of the charge coolant. 53 degrees! How's that going to cool anything? No wonder the car was not letting me have any power!
  6. Hey Kharmon! No worries we are a friendly lot here. The A272 is fantastic! We have some great roads round our way.
  7. Hooray!! How did you do it? Will you share some pics & how to? I'd love to get mine fitted!
  8. Hello and welcome! I may be called a heretic for this, but I miss my Rex. Not in a way that I'd replace my 370z or the 350z I had after it (both are better cars) but there is something really special about the RX8. Mine was a 40th Anniversary 2008 with the Bilsteins and posh wheels. I occasionally have dark thoughts about picking up a PZ model as a bit of a toy as my 'z is all a bit crazy in comparison. Anyhow, you'll love the 'z whichever you get. In my experience it is just so much more than the RX8 in many ways (though this does also include weight, it is less 'chuckable'). Welcome
  9. I will! Was all a bit last minute yesterday.
  10. On the subject of a meet, I found out there's a performance car meet at West Meon Hut. It was on last night and is apparently a regular thing. I saw one 350z there, and plenty of all the usual names in big power cars, plus some exotica. Lots of burnouts and donuts, and friendly natured fun. A few chav-wagons about with peeling wraps and an epic Peugeot 106 with colour changing lights underneath!
  11. I had straight through decat pipes on my 370z, and it was loud. The motordyne art pipes are a lot quieter than regular decats (on my car at least).
  12. Well I'm usually around most evenings, and I'm not away much over the coming weekends so pretty flexible here.
  13. I have a midnight blue 370 based in Frensham. We will have to have a Farnham Meet. Good idea! There's a nice looking 350z blue just round the corner from me on Burnt Hill Rd too.
  14. You wrote "Give us a" I wondered what happens next
  15. Stillen did tell me there is no need, but I do think it might be a good idea…
  16. The catch can, doesn't this affect metered air or is that only for PCV? There's a detailed thread on here about Positive Crankcase Ventilation (which I still want to do, despite Stillen saying it isn't necessary).
  17. Give us a… … … …nticipation?
  18. Haha Adrian and yes, it is time to drive!
  19. Whilst I'm at it, that diff is amazing. I have not once had a wheel spin up when it is supposed to be reeling in the horizon. Power down perfectly! In the wet, the Quaife is predictable. I fully intend to practise sliding about a bit once the tyres are a bit more worn out! Gave the car a wash and took a few photos, because who wouldn't want to go for a drive in that gorgeous car?
  20. Reggie's back on top form after a little visit to Horsham Developments for a few small tweaks this week. First up, more power! More torque at low rpm The tune was a bit conservative below 3500 rpm, (i.e. it fell off a cliff) so Jez has brought this up at the lower end. This has improved the 'day to day' drivability (I say day to day, as I don't drive everywhere at 5k rpm!). It is about +25ft.lbs at 2000rpm (about +10%), and around +50ft.lbs at 1500rpm (+20%) according to Jez. Gearbox tune After a few weeks living with the car I decided that the line pressures just needed upping across the board. We went out for a few test runs on the local roads with Jez monitoring the shifting via UpRev and upped the pressures in the middle of the torque map. This has sharpened things up nicely, matching the experience that Adrian (Octet) described when he had the box (it shifts like stock but holds the power). We also replaced the fluid just to be absolutely sure that it was all correct and proper, probably not necessary, but I like to remove the nagging doubts about the 'proper procedure'. Moved the ambient air temp sensor Because who wants the aircon at full power most of the time? The oil cooler dumped its heat right beside the AIT sensor, so the HVAC system thought it was 30 degrees outside when in reality it was only 18 degrees. Stiff nips no more. Hooray! Fixed a rattle on the exhaust Just a loose bolt, all sorted now. Still has that zingy hiss under deceleration though. Apparently just a thing with 350z and 370z with free flowing exhausts.
  21. I've seen the red Nismo in Farnham a couple of times. Flashed both times, never responded. Bah!
  22. Too early for me. Im usually there between 9-6.
  23. actually i had a very low tank and have aftermarket air intake! May be its time to clean it ! I think he may mean too much fuel injected into the cylinders (running rich) as you can't have too much in the tank!
