  1. I've never been a fan of gauges. Here are my thoughts: I'm not sure you need gauges with the Stillen SC. It is a pretty well sorted kit. Remember that there is a linear relationship between boost and engine speed, so it is not like there's the issue of boost control from a wayward turbo. Check your levels, change your oil on time, and drive with mechanical sympathy (don't thrash it till its hot) and you'll be fine. There's an oil temp gauge already. The rest is distraction/navel gazing that's as bad as using your phone/satnav whilst driving. Let me qualify that: 1) With that said I did also wonder the same things and get an OBDII monitor and various apps to look at the data, which is mostly crap. You need a CONSULT-III to get into the real detail or some other scan tool. 2) I trust my tuners and listen to my car, so if something is up I will talk to them. Am I wrong? It's my opinion but I'm all ears to learn more if you disagree!
  2. Nipped outside with the phone — here's the engine bay as it presently stands. Seems rather dusty on return from the body shop!
  3. I'd love to, but I'll have a fair way to travel (according to Google): 4,273 mi Distance from Shelsley Walsh to Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh
  4. Here's one from when Norris was working on the car: I'll go take another in a moment
  5. Nic you must see my car. I'll let you have a little go This car makes me smile every time I drive it, and quite frankly when you put your foot down and get an almighty continuous shove in the back from the acceleration you giggle like a fool, then wonder where the straight bits went and/or swear the air blue when you see what the speedo says. I've put 12k on my car since the Stillen kit was installed and apart from my well-documented affair with the ECU failing (probably due to me letting water in) it has been flawless. I spend a bit more on servicing, but not a lot more. Fuel consumption is similar. You can take a copy of my service intervals sheet for the Stillen car here, as a Google Spreadsheet. Useful to estimate running costs. http://370zgt.tumblr.com/post/96962886646/a-simple-schedule-to-keep-track-of-the-maintenance I don't regret a penny of this. In fact I also went down the rabbit hole of thoughts about what to do with cars when I had my 350z. Do I get an Atom/Caterham/etc. for fun and a diesel shed for commuting. I figured I drive so much for my job that I wanted to be in a car that was fast, fun and good at long-distances. A proper GT car. Adding the Supercharger was my way of saying to myself "stop bloody well changing your car, Winsor" — the appeal of something newer or faster or having two practical seats and all that malarkey is a law of diminishing returns. A GT-R is £70k, but is it double the fun? Ho hum...
  6. I've done the OS part. Font seems a bit smaller on the map. Hoping it fixed some of the bugs. Will try the maps part another time.
  7. Is this still available? Since I'm having work done on the car it might be a good time (though my wallet disagrees).
  8. I didn't have the wheels painted, rather they colour matched them for the bits I had coloured in In other words, the lip, the diffuser, the grey stripes and the wheels are all quite a close match in colour.
  9. Loving what I've seen so far.
  10. That's the thing about talking to Torqen. Shopping happened.
  11. Damn. Might have also added ARB and end links to the list.
  12. dajw: 2012 '62 GT Edition 370z. Stillen Supercharger (Vortech V3), 9lb pulley, test pipes on stock exhaust: 488bhp, 360 lb/ft.* * Booked in at H-Dev in March for Ark Grip + Berk HFCs and a total re-tune. Will update numbers then.
  13. That's cool — my tyre project is in another post. Here — I want to know more about going to 18" with a little more tyre: section & rolling circumference. But also want to know about whether they will fit, whether they will stress the power steering, whether a bigger difference in rolling circumference between the fronts and rears will play havoc with the traction control etc.. Many many questions! Presumably your wheels are also wider? Going from 275 to 305 surely would require a wider rim.
  14. Nic if the road is not ideal then pretty much guarantee I'll spin up one wheel. Can break traction in gear 1-4. You can work around it in driving style but this = slower. The diff means quicker sprints and a huge difference in cornering, when you can get back on the gas.
  15. Right then. Speaking with Adrian and Taras, and owning my second Zed has led to the inevitable. Zeditis. Upgradeitis. Man logic. The shopping list includes: A full re-tune by H-Dev. Waiting to hear back on my request to have it booked in. Jez is well-recommended, and I work only a few minutes away from his shop. ARK GRiP True Dual Exhaust System Burnt Tip Berk Technology Metallic Substrate High Flow Cat Quaife QDF10L ATB LSD A bunch of stuff necessary to have the diff installed, kindly offered for sale by Adrian: 2- Nissan OEM Differential Side Carrier Bearings; 2- Nissan OEM Differential Side Oil Seals; 1- Nissan OEM Inner ""Back"" Pinion Gear Bearing; 1- Nissan OEM Outer ""Front"" Pinion Gear Bearing; 1- Nissan OEM Pinion Oil Seal; 1- Nissan OEM Crush Spacer; 1- Permatex Liquid Gasket Some diff oil Might as well change the plugs and K&Ns whilst I'm at it. Some elbow grease Result I'm hoping for: noise, MOT pass, driveabilityawesomeness that will hold the power.
  16. My wife loves your wheels Adrian :-O We have alloy envy.
  17. Ding dong! Reggie is back And oh look at that stablemate! Sex on wheels!
  18. I'm a neophile — must have the latest burning edge of everything. 2014/15 or nowt for me.
  19. I was at the recording for this episode. Have to say the Porsche is the best looking of the three too - it is gorgeous!
  20. Lovely blue 240z has popped up on eBay US, in California. It was just featured on a 'future classics' post by The Smoking Tire. Looking good to me! http://www.ebay.com/itm/161610502296 …If anyone's got the import bug I'd vote for that one over the butt-ugly one at the top of the post
  21. You are a lucky man, then. Last I heard I should have it back this week. Have asked for a price on the Ark exhaust. :-O
