Ah! Well I didn't know I wanted it yet So far, £8 of underlay from the local carpet shop, and ten minutes of cutting and fitting. I believe in prototyping before going straight in at the deep end, so for that outlay (underlay?) I can drive about for a bit and give it a good listen. Seems ok so far: 'scuse the mess. I made a bit of a hash of the plastics in my boot with my mountain bike.

After reading this I had a go. Bought some chunky rubber underlay and cut it to match the shape of the flimsy boot carpet. Result: less tyre roar, and I can still hear the exhaust. Seems to have improved the cabin noise a bit. Photos soon.

I read a thread earlier on "Polishing your plenum" and thought to myself "that's an excellent euphemism". He's in the bathroom polishing his plenum. You'll see that I did not polish any pipes on mine (it is dustier than usual — I guess when it had the most recent work done it got a bit dusty.)

I should add that the QDF10L is designed for the 350z AT. I bought this lot from Octet to make it all work on my 370z 7AT, just in case anyone decides to do the same. Adrian (Octet) linked me to an article on here for the 350z application. This confused me so I rang Quaife and spoke with an engineer. It was at that point that I realised the diff itself doesn't know if it is in a 350 or a 370! Anyway the oil is fine, I'm told!

Well hello! Look what was in the postman's sack this morning I shall report back once it is on! Shipped direct from Quaife, and of course oils from Opie.

Did someone say flames? Mine runs rich at the moment and pops on overrun. If there is such a thing on a 7AT.

Ps. you can chase, but you'll never catch me Actually my priorities for the car are to get a reliable fun street/country roads weapon. Emphasis on reliable. I don't drive like a fool, so I'm not worried about the car in its present state. I may replace the plugs soon tho. Adrian what's the price on that Frozenboost cooler, and how does it fit in with the Stillen top mounted A/W intercooler? D.

488 bhp @ wheels. Kit was shipped direct from Stillen to Norris last year together with 9lb pulley and some decats. Now't special. I like the sound of some of these upgrades as the car does heat-soak in hot weather and stop-start traffic. Let's see what Jez @ Horsham will do with the car in a week!
