Agree I had a diesel Disco and it was great car 7 seats all the kit .

The gearbox on the E53 X5 are supposed to be sealed for life this is the problem. You can change the transmission fluid and filter if you go to a specialist, highly recommend it.

The RAC man who pulled my Zed out of the river said don't bother with the X-trail, riddled with engine issues. Sounds pricey? Hmmmmm I'll have a browse see what it looks like. Wow, those numbers don't match what Parkers/Autotrader believe the MPG should be, but then again it's all about how it's driven. To be fair though, my petrol is paid for by work, so I've not got a great hangup on things like MPG. I like the idea of schmoozing along in the X5 with a bit of luxury, sat back driving over dead animals. A lot of that was spent in London traffic, I actually got it down to 10 MPG a few times.

The only cure is an understanding Bank Manager.

I had an X5 before the Zed, no real problems with the V8 well proven lump. Tyres are expensive and it will do around town 12 MPG and on a run about 22 MPG max from a petrol, diesel are a bit better but not much as the 3 liter is a bit under powered.

Apparently Red Bull have yet to discover where Mark left the Tasmanian Devil in their HQ ! The problem is it's bred over the winter and has worked its way into every V6 power plant that Renault have delivered to them! Still, the mark of a four time World Champion is to be able to go into the first race with little development time and even less confidence in reliability maybe! Perhaps Helmut sees getting an alternative power plant as the possible solution ?

Totally agree, it annoys the sh*T out of me as well, followed a Merc down the M1 recently every time it came to a bridge which said speed camera it stood on the brakes down to 60 in the fast lane then would speed up to again wouldn't go a mile over 70 without braking. Or car going down a hill brake, speed up, brake, sped up..!!

I think Williams have done a Sponsorship deal with Martini, its Martini that will announce it after this weeks test as they want the cars in Italy for the launch, that's what I have been told anyway, but who knows.
