    Golf R32

Not that slow. The R32 gets a 3.2-litre V6 that produces 250bhp, making it the flagship of the Golf range. It's an engine that's found in many other Volkswagen Group cars including the Passat and Audi TT, A3 and A4. Although its performance figures are strong and acceleration is effortless - 0-62mph in 6.5 seconds and a top speed of 155mph - it's only half a second quicker than the cheaper 200bhp 2.0T GTI. Where it does show its strength is its effortless acceleration from 50mph upwards, which makes overtaking - even in otherwise tight situations - a breeze. Buyers can choose between a six-speed manual or a DSG semi-automatic gearbox. The DSG provides lightning quick gearchanges. It uses two clutches - one is in gear, the other has the next gear pre-selected. It takes 0.03 of a second to change gear - that's faster than the blink of an eye.

They're NA man. I was just generalising Golf's (Sorry not just R32's) As my old 1.8T was all the above ^^ Untill the Turbo went at 166k Miles was it still under warranty i like the r32 but it's just not as fast as it should be out of the box, small hatchback with a big engine, my corrado vr6 felt quicker She's heavy, especially with the 4WD When not a lot of cars were moving in the snow, my v6 4motion was handling it no problem.
  7. A bit of up to date F1 news.. FOTA, the once unified and powerful alliance of Formula One teams, has collapsed. It emerged recently that, with top teams Red Bull and Ferrari already departed, membership fees were going unpaid and the exit of FOTA chiefs Martin Whitmarsh and Eric Boullier could drive the final nails in the coffin. The Telegraph reported that there were disputes about the group's purpose, years on from the volatile Max Mosley era and breakaway series threats. Now, on Friday, FOTA was formally disbanded. Secretary general Oliver Weingarten confirmed the news, saying the "changing political and commercial landscape" had caused the decision. "The teams will probably think they can exist and fight their own corner but there will be something when they will realise they will be stronger in numbers," he lamented in an interview with the Associated Press. "There is a crisis around the corner -- whether on the track, with the impact of the new regulations, whether on the governance side, or on the commercial side," Weingarten warned. Formula One's next challenge will be putting together a full grid for the opening races of 2014. As teams grapple with the technological revolution of the all-new V6 era amid severely tight testing restrictions, it emerged after the recent Bahrain test that many 2014 cars - notably the Red Bull of reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel - might struggle simply to qualify for Grands Prix. Indeed, according to F1's 107 per cent qualifying rule, only 14 of the sport's 22 cars would have been quick enough to race had Nico Rosberg's best time in Bahrain last week actually been an official pole lap. "There can be exceptions (to the rule), this is true as we have seen in past seasons," former F1 team owner and boss Gian Carlo Minardi told his website. "But you must at least have done a time in practice within the 107 per cent. The reality today is that cars are struggling just to do a handful of laps consecutively," said the Italian. The most stark problems are being suffered by Red Bull and Renault; the title-winning combination in the last four years of the now-historic V8 era. "We are working day and night," Red Bull's Dr Helmut Marko said in the German press this week. "We stand with Renault to solve the problems." Former F1 driver Mika Salo tipped Renault to work it out. "I believe an organisation of the size of Renault - a car and engine manufacturer - to sort this problem out very quickly," he told the Finnish broadcaster MTV3. Red Bull designer Adrian Newey, however, must also take the blame, according to former technical director and now F1 media analyst Gary Anderson. "They (Red Bull) haven't left any room for manoeuvre," he is quoted by the Telegraph, accusing Red Bull of being too extreme with the design of the troubled RB10. But if the might of big-spending world champions Red Bull can ultimately emerge from the crisis, what of a similarly Renault-powered backmarker like Caterham? Team driver Kamui Kobayashi is openly troubled. "We are not able to race," the Japanese is quoted by Spain's El Confidencial. "But if we were, I think we should use a GP2 car, as we would be faster. "At this point, if we were to race ... I don't think this is Formula One," he added.

  15. And the numbers it produces are truly extraordinary. As in sub seven minutes around the Nürburgring, 0-60mph in 2.5sec (in Weissach specification), 0-186mph in 19.9sec (again in Weissach spec), hit a top speed of 214mph and average between 25-30mpg when tootling about in the real world.

  22. Wish they would make their minds up. This is from today..!! Michael Schumacher has 'blinked' and is 'responding to instructions' - reports French newspaper says Formula One champion blinks during the “first stage†of brain tests Sunday 02 March 2014 Doctors say Michael Schumacher would have died straight away if he had not been wearing a helmet when he had his skiing accident. Formula One legend Michael Schumacher is “responding to instructions†as medics gradually bring him out of his coma, according to reports. It has also been alleged that the seven-time world champion has blinked during brain tests. Citing “very reliable sourcesâ€, L’Equipe newspaper said Schumacher has undergone a number of neurological tests since Monday and he has responded “positivelyâ€. Schumacher, 45, was plunged into an artificial coma after suffering traumatic brain injury in his near-fatal skiing accident on December 29 in the French resort of Meribel. Shutting down function can give the brain time to heal. The sports daily revealed on Wednesday that medics had started the process to end his coma by gradually reducing the dosage of powerful anesthetic drugs being administered.
