Never trust anything mate just because it comes out of a box and is new. Always go with gut feeling and if the original diagnoses was a sensor and it did not cure the problem then assume that replacement sensor is duff. Stick with the original diagnoses and quite often sensors etc are best bought as oem, unless you know a reliable source that can vouch for replacement ones. Glad you got it back on the road

Its all about the center line through the wheel in relation to the geometry of the top and bottom ball joints. A correct offset wider wheel will retain this geometry where as spacers will not as its moves the center line of the wheel further out. Many people will not notice if the affect is detrimental much in the way that a noisy exhaust makes the car seem faster. Most of the feel good factor is in your head because you know it looks better.

The clutch is hydraulic mate so sounds like an issue with the master or slave. You need to inspect and see which one is leaking

Sorry my concern over the pins was if they came loose in the piston and then contacted the bore. Not as the only cause for scoring just as an additional. Try driving around for a couple of weeks in a normal family hatch and then see if the zed feels quick

Pins in the pistons to stop the rings rotating like a two stroke..... that`s interesting. Wonder if they have anything to do with the scoring of the bores ?.. just a thought.

The plastic key is a wallet key ( self explanatory ) but your right the cheapest way to get a second key. If your normal key stops working you can start the car with the plastic one and then turn it off and restart with your normal key before the immobilizer cuts in. I only know this as i bought one of them for my sons beemer as it was the cheapest way to diagnose his non starting issue which was down to the key packing up. Then the cheapest place i could get a replacement key was actually from BMW. Bear that in mind if you ever need one.
