  1. I like the MInes one a lot.....unfortunately my wife likes my money more.....so no chance of managing 400+ quid on a splitter.
  2. To be fair....its not that bad. You should see the wifes jeep??
  3. http:// Likes eating, eating and eating. Occasionally sleeps but wakes up to....eat. Dislikes everything......except eating. Photo is actually one where he is happy !!!!

    Good deal?

Don't know wheels but have used wheel mania many moons ago and they were fine to deal with.
  5. same as rtbiscuit...my car is a hobby....and every new one I get I say i'm goin to keep standard? Never happens. Luckily have some pennies to spend now and again....but mortgage, kids, hols etc come first. And you never get back what you spend....but doesn't stop us. Point in view: Bought a Evo8 for 8k. Did brakes, carbon, turbo, remaps, exhaust, springs, wheels etc etc......3k+. Sold it one year later for ??? Yep 8K. Enjoy the car as is, when funds become available then spend. Try and resist debt....TRY!! although I'm probably the worst adviser on modding cars (see above)
  6. Its on the "to do" list when I get home....
  7. some more pics?? also what was involved in fitting it ?? cutting etc??
  8. mines ones are nice. although I am tempted to try the cupra r one. Bit of a pain to fit by all accounts but understated...
  9. whip the wheel off - have a look in the arch - and see where its touching. If inner lip, roll them (or if just touching) you can CAREFULLY grind a little bit off. Did I mention CAREFULLY. Mind and touch up the paint as it will rust.
  10. sounds like you need new springs.....or a diet??
  11. Yep ...reversing and walls. I was five miles away but it was my fault ???? I was rushing her !!! Wasn't even in the same town.
  12. And it'll be your fault that she curbed the alloy...."shouldn't have bought nice wheels if you didn't want them scraped?" Cant win.
  13. Yep...the problem is its very hard to judge unless its case by case.....which is, lets face it, impossible. BUT and I can guess that my local bars / pubs make most of there day time profits from unemployed people, and not just one or two pints a day. These are regulars. Now there was a time when I would have loved to sit in a pub all day (to old now)....but don't think I could honestly afford it. These "pillars of our society" may well be on this and that goverment help, but at the end of the day, if your not working then your "office hours / tax payers cash" shouldn't be put towards your local drinking establishment. Note - can substitute alcohol for drugs depending on your local area. Yes there are many many who need a helping hand, but stop the f**kers who are simply taking the ****, and there might be more to help out elsewhere.
  14. Uprev does away with limiters. The throttle controller only speeds up/down time taken (rate) for signal to reach throttle body....doesn't do away with limiters. (I THINK!!! )
  15. But surely bringing in more people isn't the answer to filling jobs that out doleys dont want.......and I have no beef with immigrants who do work and do the jobs that others deem below them.
  16. Small percentage that are really taking the ****. Invalidity - mother not working, (but still managing to get around), four kids. SO needs a big house. Only prob is there aren't many in our area. SO goverment put them up in a five bed private home....at 1700 quid a month rent !!!! And only two kids actually stay with her...go figure. And don't get me started on the husband. Yes he works....but should have some some balls to stop sponging off the goverment. And did I mention they both have brand new 13 plates cars totaling the best part of 60K. But what to do.....they play the system, and obviously win. So yes, I do feel sorry for the many who cant get a job but really want one......but summary execution (well maybe not execution - as I said that is a bit harsh) for spongers is a must!!!!
  17. summary execution outside jobcentres??? A bit harsh...but these are harsh times. Worth a try!!
  18. Done mine now so much better Got pulled for my front 3/4 plate tonight no warning just a £100 fine :O to pay with in 28 days Seems a bit harsh for 3/4 plate??? Usually just a warning. What did you do to plods daughter ;)
  19. have to agree....worth a shot. on the race cyclists, three abreast, and b-roads doing 15-18 miles per hour. Dangerous. Up there with horses riding two wide....only they seem to lurk behind corners doing 2 mph, leaving horse sh*t in the perfect line through bends..... and dont get me started on caravans :boxing: Good luck with the repairs...hope it turns out ok. You never know, she might offer to pay something towards it.
  20. Modern additives in petrol mean it stores much longer....an empty tank will corrode. Each to there own.
  21. it could be just the belt thats glazed? but as you have changed them twice, unlikely. Dont overtighten it...you'll damage bearings. What is the running surface of pulley like?
  22. To be fair, you'll not need an oil change.....and even if you did you'd do it after the storage period. 3-4 months is nothing....brand new cars sit in compounds for months before they get delivered.
  23. Fill the tank, give car a good clean, disconnect the battery. Try and get discs nice and dry after cleaning - will stop them rusting up. Just drive a few miles should be fine (providing its not raining). Leave in gear when stored, leave handbrake off. Assume its getting stored in garage?. .job done Oh and I normally treat the roof....but forgot this time!!!
