1. There is a few hours prep in getting the Plenum cleaned up ready for PC you know I do want a volunteer or 2 though - I want to try chrome and I want to try silver - I have a few other colours that would be fun as well. My main concern on chrome is how well it would last but if anyone is willing to be the "tester" and can get down here (I'm in Bournemouth) to swap the plenum drop me a PM. I will do the plenum in advance as I have a spare - so I know the finish is OK and it will be a straight swap on a DE engine. P.S Bring doughnuts Yea I am up for that! Did you read my comment in your other thread? My mum runs a very large powder coating company in Portsmouth so theres not much I dont know about it, and I can also steal you some powders!
2. 15 years ago a White car couldnt be given away, and now its no.1 choice! It changes all the time!
3. Erm a Dakar yellow BMW is quite rare and sexy as ****!
4. I have just had to explain to my work colleague why I spat my coffee out when I read the title! Plonker
5. I need to get a spare plenum and powder mine! Keyser, if I provide the powder you can do mine
6. I don't think the ride height will make a major difference Aran as when you set these up you have a preload adjustment on the spring and the height is then adjusted by winding the damper body... So in theory it should make no real difference wether its slammed or on full height... My settings were done using a 3D alignment, the only thing I need to play with is the dampening, which is just the turn of the button. I personally wouldnt be putting too much thought in to it, just flip a coin... Its not like its night and day difference but the DTs do feel more crashier. As for the true rear coilover on the MPs, I think you are worrying too much. Driftworks used the MonoPros on their 350Z for a long time and there was never any issues... It doesnt seem to cause any more stress on the strut tower, and even so, I dont think its enough to cause any damage as that is exactly what the damper is there for!
7. I was just on eBay looking at V8 lumps... It would be a V8 for me man! Or a Viper V10...
8. Sorry Aran, I know I've said my bit about these but seeing as I have run both setups I thought I'd just add a few words and maybe a little review! So, the HSD DualTechs... I have only been running these for 2 weeks and have yet to push the car to any extreme. Initial thoughts. Very firm, I am currently lowered around 30mm - 40mm with a slight positive rake (The front should ideally be lower than the rear to give a rake effect to aid downforce) I am currently set to 7 clicks on the rear and 10 clicks on the front(14 stages on these). The back end is so stiff that the slightest of bump will chuck the back end up, so I might have to tinker with the rear dampening! Very little body roll - pushing it round the bends. Front end seems more stable and you can point the car to where you need it and it tends to stick there, much of an improvement to the OEM setup. No fitting issues, no knocks, noises or any problems as far as fitting goes. £500 for a set of coilovers in my books a budget option, but I believe that you get good value for money with this kit. MonoPros - (I dunno why you call them HRs but I guess you mean the MonoPros? ) Exceptional build quality and come with 16 stage dampening. These can be setup to the highest dampening setting but they tend to handle the british roads a lot better, they are a lot more forgiving than the DTs. I am not an old boy but the DTs do sometimes **** me off how much they chuck me around the car... I think the MPs have a higher oil capacity where they use the monotube damper, and the spring rate is slightly different on them. 7kg/mm on the rear. The fronts also use a pillowball top mount rather than the standard rubber mount on the DTs. Yes, both setups are firm but what do you expect for a coilover? You wont be disapointed with either of the HSDs Aran - Personally if you dont plan on creating a track toy then get the DTs, I cant see you benefiting from anything getting the MPs if you just drive it on the road! The main reason I got my first set of MPs was for my E36 as they had adjustable camber and caster top mounts, I have tried loads of coilovers in the past and I really rate them!
9. This happened on my E36 once, it was the camshaft position sensor... I would say its probably a sensor issue though. Hope someone with more experiece can help.
10. I have been looking at salvageable 370z's lately, as a project and cheaper alternative to getting one! So tempted, I do like the 370z alot!
11. E92 M3 370Z Monaro Why would you want a boxster? :yuk:
12. Still not sold on airbags in the steering wheel tbh Seen it cause a lot of damage to people as well Whaaaat? Rather have an airbag go off in my face that splatter my brains all over the wheel! Still not sold on airbags in the steering wheel tbh Seen it cause a lot of damage to people as well I am no expert on airbags, but they have to be better than embedding your face in a steering wheel. Were all the people you have seen sitting too far forward or something? The seatbelt should prevent you from hitting the steering wheel I've just seen some video's and reports of people being injured by airbags due to their explosive nature Stuff like this: You should get a job designing cars! All these stupid car manufacturers who use airbags dont know wtf they're doing! Also, you said that the seatbelt is designed to stop you from hitting the wheel, fair enough, the video you posted explains that the seatbelt failed to do its job in one instance...
13. Had a play with the first image! Hope you dont mind.
14. £2000 will see you to 300BHP according to Abbey, in my personal opinion you must have more money than sense. If you want power gains get a supercharger or NOS. Or buy a V8. The only reason I will get the uprev is because of the driveability benifits, making the car drive a lot smoother as I heard its a very different drive once its done! Dont look at it as £2000. Just do what i do and say its only another £400. I never add up my mods as its very scary lol I wish my bank didnt add it up!
15. Better pics next time! A good paint correction always puts a smile on your face! Looks great!

18. My mother runs a very large powder coating company Keyser, want me to steal some powders for you?
