  1. I'm in Rochester Kent. Our labour is £55/hour , but diagnostic is free with no obligation. Give me a call if you like to come down. 07852291335. Regards Sly.
  2. I may take you up on that, I have a feeling my local dealer in Canterbury is trying to take me for every penny haha. Where are you based? Thanks Jake I'm in Rochester Hoo. (See my website's "how to find us" page at www.kaizermotor.co.uk.)
  3. After working together with a lots of average Nissan trained technician I couldn't agree more with Vik. Most of them only interested in quick Micra services and MOTs to giving them enough hours for the weekly bonus. Very few go my route and get into advance diagnostic.
  4. It is a Nissan made, but retro fitted sat-nav.(Usually fitted on PDI by the selling dealer). Welcome to the forum enjoy your new toy . (As you are in Kent you can pop down to my workshop for a free check on your clutch and a coffee, if you like )
  5. Hi Michael. It's very difficult to advice over the internet in this case, but it sounds like you have some wiring fault or similar and when they do a service and touching the car underneath they move something (like wiring loom) and that's where the problem get worst or repair itself. You need somebody with good diagnostic experience to find what causing the symptoms and repair it. Where are you from. If you near to us you more than welcome to bring it to me as I love challenges not just servicing all the time
  6. Is it there all the time or only when the engine running ?
  7. It does sounds like one of the sensor is triggered all the time. It could be a fault with it or maybe it is in wrong position (happened before when the sensor turned in the hole and the dot on the outer ring is not facing up wards than it's picking the ground up as an obstacle.)
  8. Regarding the SM: Before starting engine, put vehicle horizontally and check the engine oil level. If engine is already started, stop it and allow 10 minutes before checking (it is better to check engine oil level when the engine is warm so check it 10 min. after stopped).Regarding the grade 5W30 is recommended by Nissan. I use Mobil 1 or Motul but all good brand ok, I hope this help
  9. Is that an 'inclusive' price? (Valves, balance, disposal and VAT). Yes it is all inc.
  10. The £745 is for a set of 245/45/18 and 225/45/18.
  11. Thats a great price - for the Pilot Super Sports on 19" rims (tyre sizes 245x40 and 275x 35)? The 19" set is a bit more expensive at £990 for the Michelin or Dunlop SP Sport 1 for £840 fitted.
  12. If you need an SD card than yes it is double price of the DVD around £330, depend on the model of your head unit.
  13. keep us updated on your tyre selection..........as mine are due soon now as well - 12,000 miles does that seem about right ? I would recommend Michelin Super Sports, you can get a full set in OEM size for £745 (fitted).
  14. Nice car and great intake kit. Few picture of them after fitted is a must
  15. Michelin's are good choice (they are also the most popular tyre brand for the GTRs nowadays). I can get a full set fitted for £745 if anybody interested.
  16. I'm looking forward to meet you and your beast!!
  17. I understand your point and agree the steering lock isn't a useful device anymore. Nowadays they more than likely to break into your house and grab your key for the car. But I think insurance companies wouldn't agree with us and they will reject any claim they can .
  18. I just check the video (worked for me) it is awesome :teeth: you must bring that down to my workshop one day
  19. It's only throw you fault code up if it's well out of specification, it still can be running rich just a bit and causing the soot without fault codes. Otherwise I agree I wouldn't worry about it, just wash the car and enjoy the power. :D
  20. @Steve-r I have find the fuse it is there. Going by the Service Manual and it's wiring diagram taking the fuse out will give you a Steering Lock Relay(B2607) fault code not the Steering Lock Status(B2612) fault code. So a good technician going to find out you was taking the fuse out (or he will investigate a power supply fault at least.) and there is no fault with the lock itself. I would be surprised if they replace the lock anyway if they can not reproduce the fault at all.( all warranty questionnaire starts with this : did you confirm the customer complain?) @ Doctor Austin Are sure you want to take off one of the anti-thief feature of your car (the steering lock) because it may will have a fault in the future? I just thinking if your car stolen and recovered by the police later, than your insurance company find it out the steering lock been disabled with that connector what they going to say to you ?!
  21. That's a great write up Kev, thank you very much. Have you actually done this? I just wonder if the fuse is there in the UK/Europian cars (I haven't got one in my workshop at the moment to double check.) as fuse hasn't been mentioned in the service manual. Now that's why I love this forum, I always learn something new .
  22. Yes I would think so. The countermeasure was introduced from late 2008 on the Murano (and the first 370Z in UK was sold beggining of 2009), but still seen a few failed after that. More than likely it caused by higher average temperature, as I said I didn't hear any 370Z to fail only Murano and a few GTR. I wouldn't worry about this on a UK 370Z. (Otherwise I checked the wiring for you and there is no dedicated fuse for the SL all powered from the IPDM SL relay so you would need to remove all electric fuses one by one to find which connected to it, but IMO it's not a good idea. )
  23. I haven't seen any Z steering lock to fail yet, but as they are looks the same as the Murano's or the GTR's so I wouldn't be suprised. It is caused by too much grease inside (when the grease reaching the electric motor it's causing reduced power so it will stuck half way and that's will trigger the fault code). Depending how much grease reached the motor it is may possible to repair the lock.(I have done a few on Murano's and GTR's some still OK, but some was unrepairable.)I will look into the wiring late on today for you and find out if any fuse removal can reproduce the fault.I hope this helps. Nissan modified the parts after they find this problem so if your car newer than you have better chance to have a good one fitted already.
