  1. Today I fitted: 1) Carbon bodied bonnet dampers. 2) Carbon wrapped engine cover and the most important item... a "Tuned by Abbey Motorosport" graphic on the engine cover (to celebrate last week's Miltek exhaust and UpRev work done by Abbey. Previously fitted - i) stubby, ii) carbon effect Nismo door pillar covers, iii) cargo net, iv) plush boot carpet, v) rear parking sensors, vi )TomTom unit fitted to look OEM in dash cubby (Abbey's work again), viii) vertical tonneau (made by a club member), iix) horizontal tonneau, ix) rear parking sensors. On list: i) clear reflectors on front bumper (have those, need some warmer weather to fit), ii) refurb my Rays, iii) Michelin PSS, iv) Berk HFC (hmmm wondering about those...), v) carbon wrap interior, vi) carbon cooling plate, viii) rear diffuser... goodness ... didnt realise I had so much to do... Hope Santa is listening... David
  2. Does it need an adaptor cables? Don't need one but quite like to have one at that price! David
  3. Mark (from Abbey) has just called round and taken my car away for full Miltek exhaust fitting and UpRev mapping... Although only a day's work, due to other committments I wont be at home to welcome the car home until Friday evening... But am due to be at Silverstone on Saturday so I'll have a nice new sounding and sharper performing Zed to take me there... David
  4. Interesting... I have ZZ3s on my MG ZT and found them to be incredibly quiet - in fact I have found them to be a really good tyre (albeit on a heavy and slow - well it only has 190 ponies - car). David
  5. Have had these on a couple of my cars and found them good for a quick check on startup. I agree with others it doesn't eliminate the good practise of a visual check, although I suspect a lot of us... including me... aren't always hyper diligent in doing that each week. Have thought about putting these on my Zed (and probably will when I switch to Michelin PSS) - it's finding a good place to mount the display unit that is hard! David
  6. No concerns from me about my Reg number - LD06 OPU. David
  7. I was a very quick "in & out" participant as I had to dash off and meet my son & his gf to buy them birthday (his) lunch. As always Mark was great source of useful information and Charlie did a great job in whipping out my (recently fittedby Abbey in dash SatNav -they did an awesome job in making this fit and fill the dash cubby and look really OEM) and I have now had it exchanged for a new unti so Charlie can soon refit! Am booked in Dec 5th for full Miltek exhaust fitting and Uprev remap - I knew my resolve to wait until 2013 wouldn't last...! Def be up for a summer (I vaguely remember what they are like) BBQ and car porn day. David
  8. Nexens are on mine - just been fitted month before I bought it (September) by seller. The different numbers are due to the different profile sizes. Are they good? Hmmm - they are ok but need to recognise they ARE a budget tyre so don't have ultimate grip. They get a bit better once run in and warmed up. For "pootling" around they will be fine but if you intend to use the performance available they aren't suitable, ESPECIALLY if you turn the traction control off - they get a bit "lively" then! I'll be changing to Michelin Pilot Sport soon - not cheap but then again no point in having a performance car and not being able to use it. David
  9. I might like to pop down and spectate and see where Mark keeps taking my Zed to for the bits'nbob I had done recently. David
  10. On top of my shopping list now! My recently acquired Zed had 4 new tyres fitted just before I bought it but ... Nexens...! They are OK I guess most of the time but a set of Michelin's at that price can't be turned down! Just working out whether to have my Rays refurbished now or have the tyres fitted and wheels refurbed in spring, David With my tyre machine there is no risk of damaging your rims, if you have them refurbished, I can also arrange it with Lepsons who are not the cheapest ones, but they do a really good job. Wasn't at all concerned about you damaging the rims Sly - am familiar with your work/setup from the GTROC - is just a sequencing issue for me to work out. I suspect I'll do tyres soon and leave rims until springtime. David

  12. Valet Magic in Camberly - very used to Nissan paint issues! Is one of the top body shops used by GTR owners for wraps as well as paintwork and detailing. David.
  13. I have one of these covers and it is spot on! Really well made, fits superbly (I have NOT had it fall out unless pushed) and looks truly OEM. Great value item. David
  14. In case anyone is remotely interested in the solution... The fixing "screws" are actually a press fit - and I think are one time fitting only. Tonneau fitted and my rear boot area is now hidden from sight. David
  15. I've acquired a horizontal tonneau that sits between rear strut brace and rear hatch that hides anything in the rear portion of the luggage compartment from prying eyes. The cover has two tabs that slip into slots on the inner hatch cover and two "screws" that slide into holes on the hatch cover and should secure tight. Problem I have is these outer "screws" don't seem to be engaging with anything inside the hole, hence the cover slips out as it is only located using the tabs and slots. Anyone had similar issue and worked out what these screws are actually trying to locate into? David
  16. Contact Robbie at Valet Magic in Camberley - he has an amazing reputation for wrapping on the GT-R owners club (yes I am there too.). He does clear wrapping as well as colour wraps. Maybe he wont work out to be the cheapest but his work is incredible. David
  17. Have only had my Zed for three weeks - had a couple of small problems and made contact with Abbey (who already knew the car having replaced clutch and DMF recently for previous owner - who travelled from West Ham to reach them!). Luckily for me Mark lives only 1/2 mile or so from me - he collected and dropped car off at my apartment. The work done was super quick, effectively and was incredibly (low) priced. To be honest even if it meant a 50 mile trip to take my car to Abbey I would do it - I used to travel from Bristol to Swindon to have my MPower BMW looked after years ago simply because I trusted them and they treated me and my car superbly. I feel same way about my (so far limited!) dealings with Abbey - can't imagine going anywhere else now! David
  18. He only has 3 days - never make it all the way round in time... David
  19. Do you know if the cubby will fit an '06 Facelift model? David
  20. Will try my nearest Nissan stealer for advice first David
  21. My recently purchased '06 Zed came with one key and the "valet" key but I would really like the security of having a fully functioning second key. I do NOT have the "tag" that was supplied from new. Any information on how I can buy a second key and have it programmed would be greatly appreciated. David
  22. Mine is off to Abbey Motorsport for heater attention too. Temperature setting operates more like an "On/Off" switch! Set it to 18c on the dial and get cold air (turn AirCon on makes it VERY cold!).Turn the dial one click up and WOW - SAUNA time! David
  23. So here are my latest questions! 1) Cubby Box My SatNav is fractionally too large too large to let it sit inside and allow me to close the cubby lid. So I wondered about removing the inside parts of the box where it protrudes into the box itself. I spoke to my installer about this and he is happy to do that and fabricate a mount for the unit but his concern is what is on the other side ie the outer side of those protrustrions? Are the moulded like that to fit around some thing or are they just like that for no specific reason? He doesn’t envisage a problem running the power cable but doesn’t want to start chopping the box "blind". 2) Aerial Have just bought an stubby from Redline Styling (and some other goodies too!). The OEM feels pretty well screwed on. Any tips for easy removal? 3) Passenger back release There is a flip up level on the back of the passneger backrest that should allow the seat back to tilt forward. When I pull mine up nothing happens, I assume the lower end of the cable has detatched? Anyone had this and fixed it? 4) Instrument panel lights Are these always illuminated as soon as the ignition is on? David
  24. Will do! My journey to work is only 11 miles so it's difficult to see how the temp setting is varying with the blower speed dial set OFF AUTO but I suspect I do get heat control - am off to Silverstone on Sunday so can experiment en route. David
