I don't mind reimbursing you for the recorded delivery charges - no reason why you should absorb that on my behalf. David -

When do you expect to be sending out this next batch? Dacid. -
On my comp display I have a tiny triangle always showing in the bottom left of the gauge, regardless of what is actually showing on the display. Is this trying to tell me something? David

My gun metal is the same all depends on the viewing angle and quality of the light. I think it's all to do with how the paint lays down on the plastic being different from the how it acts on the metal wing. David

Only posted on Friday morning dude. Yours was first in the queue as you paid first. You need to give the postman a few days. (even first class is not guaranteed next day these days, let alone second) I have proof of posting but no tracking numbers. Never lost anything yet! Am I in this first batch too? David -
Yikes - sounds a bit drastic... but the thought did float across my mind... David

I also found my Miltek too quiet and (without hearing it...) took Graham's comments and had Abbey fit Berks HFCs. Absolutely NO regrets at all. Not only does it give a great sound but importantly it is a sound volume and tone that you can live with. At idle it ihints at what might be under the bonnet, when "on it" it is very purposeful, yet on cruise or part throttle it is extremely civilised. Of course once Mark at Abbey works his magic post HFC fitting by a good dyno setup you then also get a definite improvement in the response of the engine too. David

It appears that these painted covers are secured by screws from behind. Three screws on the lower cover and two on the upper. BUT there isn't space to undo these from the front so.... bumper has to come off. Now I have two reasons to attempt to take my bumper off (for the first time!) - one to fit the clear side reflectors and now second to remove these covers and fit the Zunsport grill which should arrive this week... David

That's the expectation! David

Cheers - will get down and have a feel (ooo-errr) and can use one of my newly purchased trim removal tools if necessary (that made getting the rear strut cover off much easier too!). David

I am David Macpherson - Tinyflier. Cheers. -
So next daft question... Watshot advised me the painted covers "unclip"... is there an actual clip to remove or do they "self clip" with inner fixings and just need a good tug to remove?
-
Yes it is the painted covers I was referring to - apologies to all by my misleading use of the word slats! I have ordered a Zunsport grille from Steve at RS. Thanks peeps. David
-
I have a facelift MY06 with the dip in the front spoiler and two grille slats. Are those slats removable and if so how? If they are removable what lies behind them? Am thinking of black Zunsport mesh grill or removing the slats and going for a less fussy look. David

Vlad, You have PM. David

I had Steelmate units retrofitted to mine - supply & fit (including having them colour coded) was about £130 from my local (Redhill) Car Audio centre. David

Try Robbie at Valet Magic in Camberley (not too far from Basingstoke is it?). Has an awesome reputation for wrapping GTRs. David

Love the wheels and the stance... David

PM me when you get yours Dave I most certainly will Graham, David -
The cost was considerably more than £75 (on reflection it may well have been closer to 3 hrs than 5!) but I'd rather pay for something to be done 100% properly than bolox it up myself! I learned over the years that while things seem straight forward in my head - the routing of those thoughts to my hands often ends up in an almighty mess... I did think about having a go but a) it would not have occurred to me to cut a slot in the bottom to lower the unit into, I have a strong aversion to doing anything with vehicle electrics and c) I'm a wuss! Maybe with some more knowledge of these cars (I had only had mine for a month at the time) I might have had a go myself or found a helpful soul on here! David

I used the best equipment possible - Abbey Motorsport! Complete removal of the centre console was involved (which in itself I don't think is a large task) as Charlie (Abbey's tech) said he needed the cubby almost totally dismantled to get the measurements and cutting right. It looks to me like the slot was cut "simply" with a very sharp blade possibly a very small saw (?) and the "shaving" of the top I suspect was likely to have been with a Dremel to grind away enough to allow the top corners of the unit to nestle nicely into the surround. It did take them something like 4 or 5 hours to do - most of which was down to the precision they used to measure and cut so it wasn't a quick or cheap job! The rubber matt on the cubby "floor" was also trimmed to suit - to be honest the entire thing looks amazingly OEM. I did have a problem with my original Start 60 when it stopped working completely and Charlie had to partially pull the centre console out to be able to disconnect it so I could "persuade" Halfrauds to replace it. When he refitted it he used velcro (first time around he used massively strong sticky pads) so in theory it should be possible now to pull the SatNav free from the front without having to dismantle the console/cubby box. I have considered removing the cubby lid a) as it looks so good and it would look neater when in use without the lid open but what puts me off that is the SatNav is then on open display to any sticky fingered passerby and being able to simply shut it away is more secure. One thing I have noticed is you need to pause for a few seconds between turning the ignition key from ACC to Start - I think this allows the power supply to energise the SatNav before the engine fires up, Going straight from key in to START sometimes means the SatNav doesn't energise and of course as the "ON" button for the TomTom is at the rear of the unit it cannot be reached. Luckily the TomTom has a software controlled setting that energizes on detecting power and similarily closes down when Power is shut off. David
-
When you say you did some surgery what did you do? Im looking to buy a sat nag and want to do as little as possible. Would a 5 inch Tom Tom be better then? A slot had to be cut in the cubby floor which allows the unit to drop down slightly and a little bit shaved off the top inner sides of the "shoulders" of the cubby. Also a mounting bracket was fabricated - this is screwed into the top of the cubby and the SatNav attaches with strong velcro. Power cord runs down inside of cubby to a power supply near the passenger side power socket - all hidden inside the dash. Uses the supplied mini USB cable plus an adaptor for the standard cigarette socket style plug. A 5" would obviously need less room and might fit without any surgery! David

I'll have one BUT will DEF need an adult to help (that is a euphamism for "do") with the fitting... On the off chance I can piggy back on a group fitting somewhere someday I'll pop it into the cupboard and wait patiently... David
