Unfortunately yesterday I managed to scractch my front left hand side wheel arch as I attempted to park in a tight space (Some arse had parked basically on the line) next to a pillar and stupidly ended up with a scratched wheel arch...the paints come away so i'm considering Chips Away..the thing that worries me is that I know the sunset paint is hard to match. Anyone had any experience with them???? Pics of damage below:

I got round to using the Meguiars Metal polish this weekend. I'm quite impressed with the difference the only issue is that on the right light it seems that the clouding is on the inside of the light...its noticeable if you are looking close up but head on you can't see it. Here's the results...funnily enough the left handside was the worst and actually ended up coming out better than the right... -

Skahigh get some photos up of your before/after and i'll do the same just using the metal polish will help to see the difference between the kit and metal polish... Obviously people will have to take into account that mine was done by myself and will obviously be a bit better as a result of my sheer natural talent -

Yea someone from Gtechniq has confirmed on another forum c4 is ideal for headlights due to them being plastic and said c4 would be his choice over other products -

Yea i've read up on that part of the sanding but after reading the posts (I had seen yours GMballistic) when researching; I think i'm going to go for the Meguiars kit with the sanding pads as thats kind of best of both worlds. I've got some Colonite 476 which I use on the bodywork so may try just putting that on afterwards. The metal polish is in an interesting idea as I actually do need some for my exhaust so could kill two birds with one stone on that one. GMBallistic did you use any polish after the kit or was the kit alone sufficient?? Again thanks for the input guys -

So when you say Meguiars Paint Cleaner are you saying for the UV protection? I'm starting to think maybe its worth trying the headlight kit first before getting the sandpaper out...what do you guys think? -
Hi Guys I've had a read of other posts relating to this topic and just wanted a bit of a confidence boost with my current plan. I've read up on the potential of the Meguiars headlight restoration kit and come across some reviews saying it didn't make much difference and given how cloudy my lights are i've disregarded that option a little given the price of the kit! I want to make sure it's a good job so I came across the sand paper option. I plan on wet sanding the lights going from I believe 1500 -> 2000 -> 3000...please correct me if that's wrong. I then plan on using Gtecniques C4 as a UV sealant...i've read it's really good for this. (One thing that did worry me is a site that says it drys matte black once removed???...I'm guessing this doesn't happen otherwise I would be fairly p*ssed if I ended up with blacked out headlights). To finish off ill prob just go over with some carnaubau wax I use for the bodywork... So basically as my DIY skills aren't the most amazing I wondered if people had any tips for this particular process or amendments to my current plan?? I know there have been similar posts but like I said i'm just after some advice relating to this specific plan...primarily to give me the confidence to start sanding away at the headlights. Any help/comments appreciated

They were original seats I believe..ones with the pump which raises the lower back padding...that was an interesting concept . There was a 370z directly behind the Elise I was looking at which did make me wonder is it a sign that I should hold out for them to drop a bit in price
-
So I went to see it I found it fairly simple getting in to with the roof down..not much difference from the zed in my opinion and even got referred to as a pro from the sales guy...he didn't say the same about my skills getting out of it. Banged my head on the way out however as previously mentioned that doesn't worry me practice is what is needed there. The seat comfort was some what non existent so I suppose it's going to be a weigh up whether I can live with it. I think i'm going to keep saving and then go back when the cash is available and test drive...I chickened out of asking to test drive it due to knowing I didn't actually want the elise they were selling as it was overpriced for mileage etc. They did give me a rough estimate of 5.5k trade in value on my 04 zed with 66k on the clock however I feel I could get 7k for this potentially if I sell privately
-
Yea tbf I have been looking at similar questions too mine on other forums and a lot of owners do use them as a daily driver. Im going to go look at one after work today its 3k over budget and has 71k on the clock so I wont be buying it...they dont need to know though so im hoping I can blag a test drive
-
It depends on what u will use your next car,..........if u want a real "fun-car" i can recommend the KTM X-BOW,..........i drove it last weekend,.........awesome..... Will be my ny next choice if its affordable HAHAHA those things look bloody mad...how did you end up driving that???
-
That is a quality idea Alex..think i'll deff do that..may end up hiring 100 different potential buys...suppose there could be worst things to spend your weekends doing! So it's basically a comfort thing then . Your inputs appreciated guys definitely put a different angle on things....
-
Hmmmm...it would deff have to be a day to day driver. I wouldn't be able to afford to have that as well as another. What's your advice down to ...weather etc. I thought seem as it's supposed to handle amazingly that it may be ok??? Or is it down to maintenance? I'm 6ft as well so maybe that will be a problem... I know this is a hard question to answer but what are your opinions and when the 370z might drop to the 10-12k mark...I know your not psychics but it would be interesting to hear your thoughts?
