How loud do you want your new exhaust to be? If you check the US sites a lot of owners who bought the HKS replica end up selling them as the noise is really intrusive, but then if that is what you're after then all power to you.

As J's Zed said in an earlier message, the VQ was designed to cover 200,000 miles before anything major needed doing to it, although this is relative and depends on how often it was serviced, and whether it was serviced at the recommended intervals, by whom and what quality of oil was used, whether it was thrashed to within an inch of its life before up to operating temperature or driven 'carefully'. If it was driven on very short journeys then this would've caused more damage than plenty of motorway journeys. Generally they are pretty hardy motors.

The Trouser has just taken the words right out of my mouth.

I feel a migraine coming on.

Is it just me, but i find that tiny little light a right pain in the ass as its far too small to be seen in my peripheral vision. The only time i see it is when its dark and my dash lights are dimmed. I'm sure i've seen a link somewhere about how to fit a larger/brighter shift light. Or maybe i should start wearing spectacles with Coke bottle bottom lenses.

Mr Chic's fix seems a tad easier than the pedal dance.

A bit of research and asking a few knowledgable people is worth a few hundred quid, and as the old saying goes, knowledge is power.

A lovely little town in the midlands where William Webb Ellis first picked up a football and ran with it. That town is called RUGBY.

The S Tune was built to compete in the Japanese Super GT series, it had slightly modded bodywork and a modded VQ35DE which they gave the engine designation S-1 it had just under 300bhp but a redline of 7250 i think. It also had Nismo tuned suspension and i know that only one was ever brought to the UK. They also made a supercharged 350Z GT-S which went really well and ran just over 380bhp, there was talk about Nissan selling it as a kit but i haven't a clue as to whether this happened or not.

AMT, i'm in total agreement, those things look nice & small but i feel my spine crumbling each time i go over one, and my car is not even lowered. Vicious little b******s!

There have been scientists working on an innoculation against Zeditis since '03 but with no success, i think they call it AZIS. Acquired Zeditis Immunity Syndrome.

Test drove my first Zed and I've got some reservations.

Car dealers attitudes really get my goat sometimes its as though they've forgotten that for most people, other than perhaps a house this'll be the biggest purchase of your life. I'm sure there's a link to dealers somewhere on this site that members have had dealings with and their experiences will give you a good idea as to what to expect. I'm so glad that a) you got your deposit back and you walked away. The service history for one was shocking and at 35k the car is due a P3 service which is the BIG one and'll cost at least £400.00. with the replacement of important parts. Kwik Fit?? on a Zed, come on. You're not being anal about parking sensors either. Mixed tyres on the same axle is a definite no no. The handbrake is a really easy fix, but again thats not the point. I could go on but as all has turned out well i'll just reiterate what has already been said, its a buyers market, you're in the driving seat (pun intended) so don't compromise on anything that you're not happy with. As mentioned previously you've a very good chance of picking up something in really good condition thats been properly looked after via this site. If you see an advert for a car you fancy thast maybe 2 or 3 hundred miles away it might be worth asking if there is a member who is fairly local who could take a provisional look to see if its worth you travelling the distance rather than having a wasted journey. Happy hunting. -
aww what a shame, i didnt win this ZED on ebay :(

I'm with you rabbit stew i read that & thought????. I found it quite hilarious about it 'being the only one like it in the UK' no wonder, its not like it was a sleeper with masses of bhp. Something very odious about this imo. -
Congratulations on your purchase and welcome to what i consider to be the friendliest and most helpful car forum that i've been part of. If you have any queries there's always someone with the knowledge to point you in the right direction. Saturday night is going to be a long one for you. Here's wishing you many miles of happy motoring & modding (if thats gonna be your thing).

Bloody hell, they are worse than the lights i had on my old moped. Have you tried changing the bulbs? Taping a couple of Maglite torches to the lenses? Had them checked over by a car sparks? Something just isn't quite right there.

Thanks guys, i hope this sorts out the problem that i've had and stop people thinking i'm either a wind-up merchant or an ignorant pleb, or both come to that. -
I agree with Beavis Malwarebytes is a really good anti-malware piece of software and best of all its free, its caught things on more than one ccaosion and you just put it into quarantine if its not able to be sorted straight away.

Does anyone know what happened to the only S-TUNE 350Z that Nissan GB imported into the country?

I suppose i had a lucky escape if truth be told with my last 200SXS14 which was pretty highly modified, but i was honest and everytime an upgrade was fitted i vigilantly got on the phone to them to declare it. my biggest mistake and my lesson was well and truly learnt from this experience was that when i bought the car it had nitrous solenoids fitted, not wired up, no nitrous tank, no hose leading from Nos tank to solenoids and no wiring to a 'go' switch. I had a bit of a shunt and was going to have my insurance cancelled for an 'undisclosed modification' which pi**ed me off to say the least. I explained the situation to the insurance companyy who sent out another 'engineer' who looked over the car thoroughly this time and found that i was being honest about the nitrous solenoid situation. I also argued that if i was trying to hide something then why would i disclose thousands of pound of modifications but i didn't see the point of mentioning something that wasn't competely fitted. They relented although i did get stung for an extra £500 on my excess. My lesson has been learnt and i now declare anything that was fitted as an extra and whether this was factory fitted, fitted by myself (i'm a mechanical engineer by trade) or whether fitted by a trader, even to the point of being pedantic by mentioning i had an air freshener hanging fom the mirror (a mate runs a garage and the MOT spies were out and he got a bollocking for passing a car that had an air freshener hanging from the rear view mirror claiming it was instructing the drivers view, unbelievable but true). I can't understand the mindset of drivers who run modified vehicles without notifying insurance, imagine knocking some over & causing serious injury and then finding you were no longer covered.

There are some really crazy looking lighting mods on the US my350z.com site giving pretty detailed instructions as to how to go about completing the job. Demon headlamps with either a red, green or blue glow befire being switched onto to main beam seem really popular and look pretty good and a few people have painted the insides of the light gloss black which looks pretty good, although i'm not quite sure what plod or your MOT station would say about them but they definately look different.

There are varous catch cans on ebay, both rectangular and cylindrical, they also come with different coloured fitments and glass rubbers, i can't vouch for the quality of them as i've never bought one but the prices range from £19:99 upwards.

Hey Dave, i've had a word with a mate who's a courier driver to see if he could pick it up, unfortunately its rare that he goes down south as the majority of his work takes him up North. He's going to see if he can sort something out that'll take him to your part of the country. Will keep in touch. Regards, SAM
