  1. Check your rocker covers and spark plug tubes I bet they are leaking oil
  2. They are thermostated so when temp is reached they cool down again and go back up to temp

    Which lip?

Genuine mines carbon front lip if I was to have one
  4. I changed my manifolds for the fun of it Chris Nah not really, imo its not worth buying a complete exhaust system including decats/cats if the start of the system ie manifolds is still the most restrictive part. Take a look in my journal fella its all in the there the process of manifolds. But also id advise planning and spending on the best you can afford to get the right system to make the most gains as its hard enough anyway on a Z. The best manifolds would be ones like DC Sports, Tomei or Stillen. Best decats are Motordyne art pipes. Best y pipe is the Motordyne xyz pipe And the best exhausts are pretty much the Amuse R1 titanium or the Motordyne tdx, but the invidia gemini, milltek, cobra resonated are all great systems to. Basically you'll have to spend a fair whack to get the best gains. To start id go with a y pipe and decats
  5. I suppose it all depends on what you want if it driving then its the coupe but if its a mix of both then roadster. To me the only advantage the roadster has over the coupe is hearing that glorious noise on a sunny day. I've been a mates old orange st with stage 1 mods, map and exhaust etc and I still found the Z a completely different experience in terms of driving and performance its so much more rewarding and special. I doubt you'd get the HR model with 7k but tbh I wouldn't worry about it. A modified DE with a few mods will make just as much as a HR (which is quite commonly known not to make the full 309bhp anyway). If you were going the turbo/supercharged route then the HR would be better as its stronger internally. With a few choice mods the Zs really wake up whilst retaining that great all round versatility. Excellent on long runs (I did a ring and stelvio 2000 mile round trip last june and that's the point where I realised the Z really does have it all), great daily driver and then thanks you for taking it round a track or a fast road blast. Plus the looks and attention they get is pretty awesome.
  6. Bill you will love the change from an ST believe me, 7k will get you a nice example with the GT pack, which includes heated electric seats, bose sound system, cruise control. Also look for a car with the rays alloys, all uk cars had the brembo brake setup. There are 3 models of Z and 7k will get you into the first 2. 03-05 DE engine 276bhp, most torque 06-07 Revup engine 296bhp, less torque but more revs then DE 07+ HR engine 309bhp more revs, more torque than Revup less than DE Revups are known for drinking oil and from 05 onwards if I recall right its the higher tax band £400+ I wouldn't get to hung up on which engine to go for, yes technically the HR is the better lump but they all deliver a great driving experience I would simply go on what is the best condition and looked after, take a drive in a few fella to get the idea of how they feel. Good luck you will love it, and good luck keeping zeditis at bay

    Spark Plugs

Its not that hard to do on your own fella, its a common issue with Zs. The rest of the engine etc is very reliable Mine are in the same situation but I have the covers etc sitting at home waiting for better weather when I can install my oil cooler and oil temp gauge at the same time and also renew all the breather hoses. Just keep an eye on the oil level for the time being

    Best de cats ?

You will get flames and pops with a map and decats. Mines does big flames apparently

    Best de cats ?

Much more complex than just straight pipes especially on the VQ engine. The best decats are the motordyne art pipes using helmholtz resonator technology, expensive but oh so worth it glad I got them and sold my silenced decats. If you've spent £xxx on an ARK exhaust dont fit cheap @*!# like japspeed even though they may be ok.
  10. Chris I will take a set Pm me dude and I can sort payment straight away
  11. Oh god Chris why? must hold back already spent to much
  12. Try and pull it out slowly and straight, works for me every time
  13. Check it religiously every week imo, level ground when the car has been sitting overnight so you get an accurate reading. Use the power steering tank as a spirit level. The dipstick isnt hard to read really just pull it out wipe it, put it back in leave it 5 seconds then pull out and read.

    Exhaust guru's

    3 inch system Ian?

    Exhaust guru's

For what its worth when my car was stock it was dyno'd abbeys, then when the cobra went on it was dyno'd again at abbeys before the stage 1 mods and it gained 4bhp. Not alot but a gain none the less. 3 inch bore is fine for the capacity of our engines anything bigger will lose power. The motordyne system is 3 inch I believe the xyz exit certainly exits on 3 inches. And the motordyne exhausts are proven to make power
  16. Im a fan of CG Glossworkz but apparently G Technique wash is meant to be great so il be trying that next. DJ born to be mild is good aswell
  17. Waiting for a response from z1. Hope the pulley has a balance weight and a proper rear seal could be a good buy if all im looking for is present
