  1. hey thrifty. that list sounds like a good idea to me to fix it. where did you get the fibre glass pen from and also where did you get the base coat from? I want to get it sorted this week so it doesn't spread or anything.
  2. hi all but of a long title sorry. I'll get a pic up in the morning but I've found a small chip that's on the edge of the paint work above the passenger side rear quarter window. It could have only happened this week. Basically it's about 3mm in diameter. but there is a small bit of rust in the centre of it. I want it sorted ASAP and I'm getting a chip repair paint from nissan for a small chip on the bonnet but how do I sort this easily and quickly before it gets any worse. can I simply remove this probably 2-3mm of rust and then use the chip repair kit from nissan to cover it back up or am I looking at getting a respray just over that section? If it is gonna be a respray how can I protect it to stop it getting any worse until I can get the car in? gutted its even there but having read about the thinness of the 350's paint its not surprising.
  3. hey amt only had my car two weeks and got the same issue. A very similar sized chip on the bonnet and also one on the edge of the body work above the passenger side rear quarter window. hope you don't mind me asking on your thread but was wondering is the best place to get the touch up paint from nissan or any other suppliers that are just as good? Good luck sorting it, post up some pics when your done.

cheers rt will keep that in mind. as for bird doo doo lol what should you use to gt that off? I've got some autoglym bird doodoo wipes lol
  7. cheers Leonk. because you've kept her so well looked after its made cleaning her a lot easier.
  8. I kept forgetting to add on bits hence the 3 posts lol used the two buckets method. very careful with two lambs wool mits because no sieves. used meguires gold shampoo and conditioner. on the exhaust cleaned and used meguires metal polish. came up really easy. as for the wheels used another separate mit with the shampoo and the dirt just fell off. Then once dry used Halford wheel sealant of all things and it's worked quite well I though. Thanks to leonk got a detailing kit but still need to use that plus any advice on polish and wax choices would be welcomed. no machine polisher so all by hand. One thing I would say I really need some good cloths. got some cotton ones but they have bits so need microfiber that has no dropage if that makes any sense lol
  9. cheers Chris. never enjoyed cleaning a car so much. now to celebrate one long drive and then a few beers.
  10. O and can't think of a better way to spend my b day morning as it happens. Best birthday present ever :-)
  11. lol bit lazy yer but no spare time. was contemplating washing her in the dark after work but thought better of it. gotta redo the black grill at the front looking at it lol gotta stop looking at the car.
  12. some more. not enough room to get an overall pic. will try to get one later assuming she don't look too dirty by then
  13. wow that was a slog lol car was minging dirty since I got her a week a go. felt bad since leonk had kept her spotless. anyway couple of hours and car washed and wheels washed and sealed. exhaust polished and glass cleaned. interior is still good so will do that In the week and as for clay bar polish and wax, I'll need to figure out how to do all that before I attempt it. gotta say she looks soooo good shining in the sun now but I can see why everyone obsesses so much about swirl marks and tiny specs of dust lol. taking her out for a long drive today but to be honest part of me wants to wrap her up to keep her clean lol think I need help anyway some pics attached since I've realised ive not posted any of her yet since I got her. apologises for any missed bits and swirl marks.

  15. hi all I have searched but want to check. my coolant is on the min mark and I want to top it up. What can I use? I've read the owners manual and can see the recommended nissan coolant but what other coolants can I use or are recommended by people on here. Also I'm guessing it's a 50/50 mix.
  16. cheers Rob. that's my lunch time sorted lol
  17. good good :-). I'll get on with ordering the bits and bobs.
  18. didn't know that. so would meguires products be a safe bet for the first car do you reckon?
  19. its the azure blue colour. well I want to make sure the paint is well looked after and then also looks good. why?
  20. Thanks again. Will try by hand for now then and see how it goes. I'll have a look at both the suggestions for products as well. cant wait to get some time and a dry day and really see how shiny i can get the car :-)
  21. cheers. One quick question as well do you really need a machine polisher or would I be ok with old style hand power :-)
  22. by the way i was looking at http://www.monzacarcare.com/ - seemed to have everything.
  23. Hi, I've been having a look around on here at the suggestions on how to clean a car properly and i've been looking at various sites to get all the bits from. Basically i've got a list of things i need: buckets (with sieves preferably) wash mits microfibre cloths drying towel wheel brush car shampoo polish wax (already got a clay bar thanks to previous owner) wheel cleaner and probably some other stuff that i've forgotten for now lol But can someone point me in the direction of the best place to get all this at the best price. Thanks
