Zed is built for long drives cruise control on and relax. Just eats the miles up.
-
I'll def give a review when it's done. O and ioneabee, I wish it could have all been done in the same day on a saturday lol
-
Took me about 2 hours and 20mins. Had to stop because of the suspect black liquid so that added some on. It was an easy run. No really heavy traffic. Simple as well. Down m4 on the m25 south, off at junction 6 and head towards Oxted. Getting back on the train was simple as well. Worth it I think when I see all the 350's they had down there and all the memorabilia and parts in the office lol. Better than just a standard garage that knows nothing about the zed.

Well I'd had a good look around. Scott had a look. Both of us wiped some of it off and smelt the liquid. Didn't smell like oil. Just looked a hell of a lot like it. Thing is oil in the car is a darkish brown. This was black. Plus any oil leak I would have expected to have some fairly strong smells in the engine bay and I'd had a good look around when I'd pulled over in the service station. Let's just say I'll be happy when the service is done and she's all ok lol.

That's the point I guess. As long as you enjoy the work required to fix the car up then it's not a labour at all. I was wondering about the welding and like you said how it burns away when your trying to weld. Good luck with it not that I think you need luck. Pretty impressed with those pics you've put up of the bonnet repairs you've done so far.

Cracking day so far. Got up early (not early enough though as per), then rushed down to Abbey to drop the car off for her service "plus". The "plus" being: Fitting Wasso's gold plenum spacer HEL brake lines (new type) Berk HFC's UPRev Good to meet Scott plus another member from the forum who's name i cannot for the life of me remember. He was down there from Shrewsbury i believe having his car dyno'd for the first time since he had to rebuild the engine after a failure with the oil rings i believe. When i left he was still waiting for the results so fingers crossed its not down on power and all is well. Easy enough place to find, plenty of other cars around the car park outside the garage: A few 350z's I think i spotted a skyline 2 GT86's that i spotted Back in South wales then by 3:30pm. Not bad considering i hate public transport lol Since when did trains have tv's on the backs of the seats as well???? Seriously cannot wait now till next weekend when (all going well) i'll be able to pick the car up and see what this UPRev is all about Early morning start, on a saturday! urghhhh Things to remember: plenum spacer, fitting kit, nissan service book and the all important locking wheel nut in the envelope The nice shiny new Berk HFC's couldn't get a good picture and didn't want to take them out of the bag and get them dirty lol Stupid considering they'll be covered in road muck by this time next week My azure sat waiting for some tlc this week My only "moment" was as i was on the M25 and saw black liquid starting to stream over my wing mirror. Then saw the same on the passenger side and could see it hitting the door handles. Pulled over. Some black streaks around the front wheel arches and also a bit of it on the rear arches. Instantly thought i was dropping a shed load of oil. Had a good look underneath, nothing. No smoking and no oil explosions within the engine bay. Checked the oil on the dip stick (as much as you can once the engines been ran) and while i couldn't tell exactly where the level was it had been fine when i set off and there still seemed to be plenty on there. No oil pressure issues and no low oil lights. Once i'd got to Abbey Scott came out and had a look. Didn't think it was anything bad, probably just crap from the road on the way down. I couldn't help but assume the worse though so i'm glad Scott had a look. Sooooo i'll give an update next week when i hopefully pick her up and i can add my views on the difference that the UPRev gives. Christmas come early!!

That's impressive. How did you get it from before to after?
-
Excellent updates mate. Always like to see a full on project. Doesn't matter how long it takes really. Doing the work is part of the fun isn't it that rotisserie looks excellent.

Your all jealous. It's the new mod. A car that smells of chips.

I'd want them on their knees grovelling for forgiveness. Sickening that they've managed to stop a police investigation by allowing the guy involved to get his story made up prior and effectively helped to cover it up. Then only giving the minimum amount of recompense. It's wierd because there's a Evans halshaw around by me. Don't think they do nissan just vauxhall/ford but I know people that have had problems with them (not this bad though). Safe to say I was never going to use them but after this it just helps to reaffirm to me that you cannot trust a lot of dealerships. Which is a crappy situation.

moved onto the mpss's and noticed a big improvement. Think i had the re050's on the rear and i don't get anywhere near as much tcs flashing as i used to. do really grip around corners.
-
Just happens? Coincidence. Me thinks not
-
I just dip the clutch. As it's going down and it's free I blip the throttle so that as I lift the clutch it engages as the revs hit the right point. So no holding the revs at a certain point.
-
Thanks GM as others have said I applied it pretty thinly. Was rushing anyway so didn't want to put much on. Let it haze in a few mins and buffed off great.
-
I find it a bit easier with the 380rs pedal fitted to my zed. It's still gonna take me a while before I am confident with it. Like others have said I kind of roll my foot on to the accelerator to get the blip. I tend to blip even changing down to accelerate. Way I see it is that it's all practice. Does make me smile when it's a perfect match plus the sound

Happy birthday Dan.
-
Haven't had chance to try it on the wheels yet. Interested to know why you find it hard to work with. I found it applied easier and buffed off easier than the poorboys wax I normally use.
-
i couldn't transfer money to a natwest account and i've heard its them and RBS that are effected. I'm guessing an error rather than out of money

Hi, I'm not an expert at detailing but i do like my car to look clean. Sooo just a quick wash with meguiras gold class shampoo, dry and then quickly applied the above FK1000P wax/sealant. Never used it before, previously used poorboys. Even though i was rushing it was a breeze to apply and to buff off all by hand. So had a swansea meet then with some guys from the forum, a blast around some of the welsh hills and then back about 7 hours later. All i did then in the morning was take the car to the local garage and just spray it with the jet wash. Got to be said i am seriously chuffed with the way the FK has kept the dirt at bay. Like i said i'm not an expert and maybe i'm wrong but the car was fairly minging after the meet and i'm chuffed at how the dirt just dropped off. Put some pics in of the car below after the spray wash. Just wanted to share :-) plus excuse to show pics of the car lol

Hi all. I've been doing some searching and reading. If this has already been answered feel free to send me to the location where it's stored on the forum. Basically am I right that the 350 UK gt model which I have does have a lsd 1. So not a 1.5 or 2. My understanding is that this means it only works as such in acceleration. Mainly I'm interested in why the diff that comes with my car isn't that good for drifting and what you should be doing if you wanted to improve not only drifting but the application of power from the car to the road. I thought that the diff works by putting more torque through the wheel that's still got contact with the road and is therefore (probably) spinning slower I. E. The inside rear wheel when turning. I can't figure out why this doesn't work well for drifting or how it can be improved upon for general Road driving applications. Am I also right that the diff I've got is by standard a vlsd one? Any info, links etc welcomed. Cheers Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk

Invidia Exhausts and Berk HFC Combo package deals
wizurd replied to Tarmac@TarmacSportz's topic in Tarmac Sportz
Very tempting! Good price. You're telling me. Couldn't help but take them up on this, ...just got to wait for delivery now. Reeeeey you finally got an exhaust Yep. The exhaust back box was blowing so I decided not to give anyone in my family presents for Christmas this year and only buy one big present for the Zed instead. That's the way to do it. -
Do we have any whizz kids on the site who might advise?
wizurd replied to d95gas's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Try the apology route and all that just to secure a decent reference if nothing else. Sounds like not the nicest place to work anyway so best put perhaps. Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk
