  1. I expect to see that car in a worse state in the near future unless they use it exclusively for just driving to events to promote the police. Can imagine the fuel and servicing costs will be interesting. And I thought a p3 on my zed was expensive! Lol
  2. Been out today so will have a look at all the sites later on. Cheers Humpy I'll check out aria. Gotta go through OC as well. As for software. 15 quid for Windows is cheap ain't it?? How did you get that neo?
  3. Cool. Cheers both. Will take a look.
  4. Some. Any suggestions on where does good packages like that?
  5. May well end up having dual boot then if I can. Looking at more components now. Hummmm so much nice stuff out there. I'm sure 16gb of ram is enough lol
  6. Still not sure about trying Ubuntu. Might have a dual boot system. God knows lol. So wanna just wax it and get it all bought now.
  7. Agree with the Admiral bit. They've been the best for me for the last two years but then I always need multicar because of the fiesta.
  8. O and I may take u up on that alien ware case lol
  9. Interesting idea on building a hackintosh. Always go with windows since its what I'm used to. Have worked on AIX so Unix isn't something I'm alien to just not in the home arena. Thanks for the hot deals link. Not sure that's actually cheaper than I'm getting the bits for at the moment though. Although good to keep an eye on there. OS wise I may just be going windows 8.1 but I'll see. Like I said I've built a couple of pcs years back now and I know I lovr having all those boxes sat there with bits waiting to be plugged together so there's definitely a lot of satisfaction with building it yourself. Will have more of a nose around today since I'm off. Cheers for the info ideas so far.
  10. Cheers Sharpen. I do need to look at what's on offer with the prebuilt options. Do like doing it myself though. If they can do it cheaper though I'm not arguing
  11. thats a good price - i've been looking one ebuyer since thats where i used to shop for this kind of stuff. Will have to compare the prices on amazon/play and the like.
  12. tried that link now - discontinued it says
  13. hum ok. you mean the card being too long between where it slots in and the cage for the internal drives?
  14. cheers mate, thanks for the info. Yer just saw the 80+ - probably will get a mid atx tower. that'll still take a mAtx motherboard plus i know for sure the graphics card won't be a problem then. So many choices though. Want to be running some virtual machines for SQL Server 2012 and 2014, so i can play around then also be able to play some decent games on it. Find i use my phone mostly for the internet these days so the laptops getting more and more redundant
  15. yep its sata III so thats that sorted
  16. good point on the bracket. Also how does the sdd connect? gets power from the psu and then what kind of connector? it's not just the usual sata connector is it? To give you an idea of last time i built a pc - SATA wasn't out lol
  17. is the 80+ the amp's Yer i had a look at the coolermaster case and its size measurements are bigger than the card. May well just go for a larger one though
  18. ahhh - yep its retail packaging. Good to know. Out of practice with components lol Ok can drop that then. Will need a different case though. Well the case is ok, but want a larger psu. 500W is min recommended for the GPU
  19. when you say stock ones, what do you mean? i'll need a cpu fan won't i? unless they come with the cpu's these days
  20. Evening all I've built pc's in the past (quite a few years back) and i've been having a nose around at what components are out there at the moment. I'm looking to build one to run games and also a fair bit of IT work mainly around SQL Server. Would welcome any comments on if the components i'm looking at are any good and also any other suggestions regarding better choices. The box will connect to my tv for the display. The components i've got so far are: CPU - Intel i5 4670k socket 1150 Motherboard - Gigabyte GA-Z87MX-D3H Socket 1150 GPU - Gigabyte GTX760 Windforce 2GB Memory - Corsair DDR3 2400Mhz 16GB (2*8GB sticks) CPU Cooling fan - Artic cooling freezer 7 pro rev 2 Case - Coolmaster Elite 342 Black Micro ATX including Elite 500W PSU Optical Drives - Pioneer 8x Combo bulk drive - plays blue rays/dvd's and cd's. Can also burn dvd's and cd's Storage - Kingston 120GB SDD WesternDigital 1TB 7200rpm HDD Think that's everything lol So any ideas on if these bits are any good or not or what else you'd recommend i'd welcome. Obviously money is an issue otherwise i'd go mad and build a monster machine. So nothing over £800 quid in total but i'd prefer cheaper Cheers in advance
