  1. its not a copy of uprev i dont think i think it could be wrong but it works by connection the car to the database in states which then unlocks the cars ecu as so to speak when the authorized license code is entered if you cant access the database for the ecu to be unlocked you cant run the ECU like you say i guess you could try and hack there system but you would get found out very easy i would imagine as it takes the vin number for the car to unlock that cars ECU then tracing that vin to its owner and a big lawsuit but even if you could do you or your mate know how to run the uprev system and what the best way to tune the 350z and what there is to watch out for which again comes back to people who remap vw daily and people who tune nissan daily chances are if you put them in there opposite works shop with no training on the programs/cars they would **** it up a fair few times, its an art which is learnt over along time working with one set up its not anything anyone could pick up plug in a car in and become a mapping pro in a day, a week, a month
  2. as said them "remaps" have no labour costs as there generic uploads to the Ecu the Uprev system you pay your license then have a man tune the car to it best ability If the cost of a 350 remapped is 400 minus the labor of the guy tuning it on the dyno and inputting data = i dunno for arguments sake £200 that then leaves £200 for the licenses now your S3 remap will say £300 minus the guys labor at £50 means your paying £250 for the remap/license so in turn the uprev software is cheaper its just the guy that's actually tuning you car that adds cost note i don't know the direct costs its just an example
  3. i think the topic has been answered from both sides so not much more to say so
  4. get Matt in here and before you know it ,POW
  5. bit like tyres with MPSS Exactly, do you want the tyre that WILL save your life or do you want Ling Longs on there that will kill you, your loved ones and anyone you've ever set eyes on? I know what I'd do. But how do you know they've had hours of development put in them, and are not just a price tag determined by the Brand? Nike trainers, clothing, all made with cheap labor across seas, but you're paying for the brand... because koenigseggs and @*!# have them super car fan boys want them, Anyway remaps
  6. bit like tyres with MPSS
  7. the same way you cant use top end computer software with out a license its business that's out to make money the tuners don't have a choice but to charge for the license, there is no argument, if your not happy to buy the license get an aftermarket ecu and take it to any tuner but im sure it will be more expensive using the example the OP gave of his S3 at which im guessing was a Revo remap its not live tuning so there is little if no cost of labor so he is still paying for the license as such He paid £250 for a remap which involved no labor cost than two dyno runs that £200 is for the Remap/revo license the same the uprev has but we also pay for a live map to be done to it

    My 350z

going to be honest the wheel look erm flat so not for me body is nice even with the wing just think its need some real deep dish split rims then it would be perfect
  9. There you theres a space in the market start developing also the R34 started production in 5 years before the 350z that's quite a bit, Regarding the Vauxhall the engine that was used in hundreds of cars From opel ,vauxhall saab Chevrolet Saturn etc if its used in that many cars globally someone somewhere is going to develop it, other than the 350z and G35 the VQ i believe was only used in mini vans in a detuned state, so there were the only two cars that were going to get tuned as such and as well all know they didn't sell a 1/4s worth as of what they did in american compared to Europe, so why would people in Europe develop tuning for a car that has such a small market share when they can develop tuning for your GM engine or the Vw group 1.8 20vt engine used in loads of hatch back sports coupes etc and make more money due to millions more customers
  10. the other thing to remember is the Skyline and your hondas are very old apologies if that offends but there's not that much that stop tuning no walls to brake down and they have easily had another 10-15 years worth of development in there sectors they didn't have things like canbus to deal with go try getting a GTR mapped and look at there costs
  11. im sure there are others out there, im sure HKS, Jun, Esprit etc didnt mapped there demo cars with uprev. Just uprev is the best supported and easier i guess to obtain Oi, get your own comments. Tbf he posted his a minute before you lol. not that i wish to put your car down and it not that at all but how many years of experience and competition wining cars in several sports Drag,Drift Rally Time attack etc has your mate assisted in devloping? i dont wish to be rude but dont think it comes close to abbeys experience
  12. im sure there are others out there, im sure HKS, Jun, Esprit etc didnt mapped there demo cars with uprev. Just uprev is the best supported and easier i guess to obtain
  13. you've kinda just answered yours and peaks own question Uprev (aka orisis i think it) is huge globally and company like abbey installing and mapping are big names https://uprev.com/secure/ Just seen they charge $100 ph for support
  14. this is as im curious as i have two friends 1x b18 turbo del sol 1x k20 Ek that have both spent nearly grand on getting it all mapped up and running right, regarding uprev you have two choices I guess if you don wanna pay £400 odd quid for a remap dont get one with experience with feedback and customer support dont get one or get bob in a white van to pop over and map it on the rod then sell the car 6 months later when the engines rattling away and hell say it was fine when he left ( makes me laugh as 3 guys out of my local group of friends mocked me for what i paid yet all three are scooby/evo drivers that had them mapped this way and sold them all with a year as the engines were ****ed, all 3 cars were fine before and they didn't add or do anything different they had done for last 2-3 years)
  15. the video above says for hondata, custom chip etc in the description? i find it very unlikly he just used another spare stock honda chip and you still haven't said who mapped it was it friend doing a favor if not what tuner ?
  16. this it must have been hondata or something similar the best way i think i can put it is like someone who cant operate a PC taking one to a shop and paying the labour or the guys time and paying the license for the new windows Bradders im guessing the guy who did your was a mate or a low cost tuner no offence intended you didnt have Bisimoto or another world famous tuner do it for you did you?, look at the the experience and history Abbey Have there one of the king pins in British even global tuning, its like taking your car to a backstreeter at £25PH or taking it to a Main dealer at £125 PH Also its been said about the S3 mapping there is no human cost there they plug it in and walk off and do something else when i had my car mapped Mark didn't leave my car for 3-4 hours
  17. yea mine a gone thanks to tarmacs side diffusers, But regarding arches my front liners are always blowing back and touching my wheels been through 2 sets now
  18. im assuming he didnt remap the Stock ECU
  19. Because what you get im assuming you mean Revo Jabba sport them kinda company just upload a generic map its not tuned to your car the uprev from abbey etc is personally tuned and adjusted to your car to get the best from your car with the mods fitted not just upped the boost limit and push out the door like the maps you get from Revo etc
  20. i believe so but depends on the brakes and the wheels you want to fit obviously car below has 18s for proof
  21. I'm now 264 at the hubs and Abbey got an extra 17 with the uprev plenum and exhaust which put me about 295 at the fly now so not bad with 120k but I've heard Nissan were very optimistic with the de although stats say 276 they rarely came close
  22. Forza Horizon 2 has just had its 2014 release confirm i hope its better than the first as it was so close yet so far
