Just saying from my point of view its very unjustified, and know one seems to be able to justify it just state its the rules im not debating its the rules im debating it doesnt make sense from a large picture of everything else that's governed i have posted nothing to keep anyone else happy and do not appriciate you changing my quotes to read as such for the record i agree on the most part that it doesnt make sense and i have already posted something to that affect.. perhaps you could 'quote me happy' on that instead of putting words in my mouth? the mist has dropped and you taken a step to far look at some of the posts in 'the whats next thread' thread ekona and docwra said they hate tons of text being quoted so i did that not as if your trying to make them happy sorry if you saw it that way

like i said aliveboy posted about Ved / Road tax and i tongue in check mentioned in to be fair a round about face that its silly to be called a vehicle emission tax to which you replied ...Silly argument, There was no argument it was just a comment but i thought if he wants one ill go get some logs for the fire and now were here, with every point you made i found a floor and you can say the same this is happened with me and mouthwash over Mpss it was a debate then docwra said im palm facing myself after he stated power stations dont pay emmision tax which i think is hilarious and that its for tax of emission of vehicle on a public accessible network, well the public waterways as you say have a license weather it be Or this The fact is the license is the same £28 so why doesnt the VED apply to them as its the same principle why does this pay less than this Just saying from my point of view its very unjustified, and know one seems to be able to justify it just state its the rules im not debating its the rules im debating it doesnt make sense from a large picture of everything else that's governed

be interesting to see how much of said money went towards cycle lanes (which most dont use) cycle lanes and road repairs are paid for by local government. VED goes to the central government coffers. granted the central gov then passes funds onto the local gov but these road repairs and cycle lanes are not directly paid for by VED ok regardless if cyclist dont pay anything towards cycle lanes why are they made for them before your next statement of well they pay council tax so that pays for it, Why should all non cyclists pay towards cycle lanes in the same way cyclists don't pay towards the road network then
-
ok so why is there no VED for boats on Public waterways if VED is for vehicles on public use networks only why dont they pay

No, Im with other Steve on this - its for vehicles used on the road and is calculated by emissions. Its not just vehicles or BTCC cars would have to pay it, its not just emissions or power stations would have to pay it. As for horses vs dogs, its entirely down to the health aspect, no-one has a problem with horses shitting in fields? Are people just being pedantic for the sake of it - stop and think before you type. EDIT: Oh - and the M6 toll? Ownership doesnt come into it, its privately owned but accessible to the public so the laws of the roads apply. Something like the hill at Goodwood? Not accessible so the laws dont apply. Get nicked doing donuts in Tescos at 3am, tell them its a private road and then see what happens See previous comment about thinking before keying Power stations do pay emission tax,

but its not a tax for the road its an emmsion tax so it is no its not... you could have the biggest oil burning turbo charged drag racer and as long as it is not going to go on the public highway you dont have to pay any vehicle excise duty.... honestly do a search and read up on the rules.... Congratulation you have no idea what im on about, it was posted that the road tax stop being a tax of the road in 1930 and that it is now a tax for the use of and emission produced by said vehicle not for use on the road so horse, bike, skateboarders whatever don't have to pay it as the produce no emissions, to which my reply was was a BTCC car doesn't pay tax yet produce @*!# loads of emissions, hence its not a tax of vehicle usage/emissions but is actually a road tax there for anything using it should pay, Granted was tongue in cheek but everyone else go it no no congratulations to you.... i cant believe we are having this conversation in all honesty! try reading the rules and my posts a bit more clearly. VED is a tax that is levied as an excise and which must be paid for most types of vehicle which are to be used (or parked) on the public roads in the united kingdom and the rates of this VED are based on the emissions produced by said vehicle your argument just doesnt work o cool so i can drive up and down the M6 Toll all day without paying tax then as it privately owned just like every race track, i know the rules they just dont make sense bit like stupid rule (the might have changed in last 4 years) you must have a working number plate light, doesn't state it has to actually light the number plate up so i can just unscrew my plate and fit it at the bottom of my number and it will pass a mot Or if you have door fitted they must shut but if you dont have doors fitted you can pass an mot

"Your" road? Not sure about that... Find me a horse owner that isn't paying road tax on a car and I'll be impressed... They're probably paying more tax than you as well. "Don't care if you **** off the horse crowd" - Nice - how very public spirited of you. You doing donuts in a field with horses in is probably about as damaging as somebody spraying your car in brake-fluid, and I'm sure you wouldn't like that... would you? We're all on this little island together and it's too small for intolerant attitudes like this. Grow up. Problem is there will be horse riders who think they own the road and can do as they will there is (alot) of cyclists who think they own the road and can do as they please until it all stops this attitude will be the same its a human thing, Makes me think of monday when all walking from the tour de france maybe 1-2000 people walking up the A505 and i heard a few cyclist discussing how all the people walking side by side a closed off road was its making hard to cycle and that the people should keep to the paths and i thought pot kettle black comes to mind

a bicycle is a vehicle So are all of the zero emissions vehicles that are also exempt from road tax so is every BTCC car with straight pipes and spitting flames but that another story
-
Lets open a new can of worms. It's not road tax, it's "vehicle excise duty" road tax finished in the 1930's. a bicycle is a vehicle

Except if you add more mods and take the car back for the remap, you dont have to pay the license fee again. You could even buy a cable and start mapping the car yourself if you want ........... so its not only like MS Office, you effectively get the source code as well. And £400 isnt even two rear tyres for my car, if you think thats a lot of money for better power, torque, throttle response and economy youre driving the wrong car. i can do £400 on a drift/track day easily
-
do think the Zlabs bodyparts stash could do with a boost actually
-
right so you can see people who want cheaper remaps there's a market for it and your not capitalizing on it, If you think you can do it less then you have one hell of a future business you should be starting
