Ah ok fair cop, I don't know much about Monaros because I was looking for a COUPE not a saloon when I got my Zed How can they be in the same 'sector' when they are totally different cars If we didn't buy cars on looks then there wouldn't be many Zeds around lets face it Curious would in your mind be fair to compare a corvette zr1 and a camaro zr1?

Different brand etc miles different segment, yes ones a sports car and one is a coupe but both are muscle cars and both share alot of components ie brakes, engine, transmission, Diff and both are from the same company my point is the op liked the sound so he likes the sound of the LS engine he likes its performance which last time i looked up performance states they were all 0-60 etc nothing to do with handling, the op can get a car using the same engine base C6 did have a ls2 in ive found out using the alot of the same if not similar suspension parts, that in real world covers a standing quarter well within a second of a vette the practicality wise of it is just a bonus Just for half the cost which i cant see as a bad thing unless your a brand whore im sure there are people on the forum who would shop at waitrose to buy the same brand of bread for fiver than get the same item from asda for £1 Just so they can be seen as higher society or better than everyone else

just going by the op opening statement of they look good sounds nice go well well a monaro will go just as well as a vet a monaro will sounds exactly the same as a vette all LS do look good subjective but i can see how a car can look £15k as good unless you want showoff points to me go well is acceleration, if he said it handled well then well id imagine he would have said they handle well?

Monaro never came with a LS3. Early cars (CV8 and VXR) are LS1. Facelift CV8 is LS1, but the facelift VXR has a LS2. My mistake still not 15k slower than than a vet

Unless you want the badge to show off 'corvette' i cant see why you pay twice as much for a bottom range vet than top of the range charger monaro i cant unless you in it for the poser status like Porsche jag owners

Are you really suggesting that someone who is interested in a Corvette should get a Monaro instead? That's a bit like someone coming on here and saying they can afford MPSS and what do people think of them, and someone recommending Falkens when the person didn't remotely ask about them in the first place, and their budget happily covers the premium option :p But really, no-one looking at 'Vettes is going to settle for a Monaro. Completely different cars. from the way way you and other go on about mpss there is a world of difference between a cheap tyre and mpss there isnt a world of difference between a monaro and a vette other than a price tag

Dont even look 15k faster, you no a 15k diffrence between a 370 and a gtr there is a big diffrence

what £15 grand better looking and all they are is plastic im assuming the £30k car is the bog spec one not a ZR1 or any toher special edition which all posted above are

If your just getting a base model ie not ZR1 etc as in the LS3 why not just go buy a monaro with the ls3 in at least steering wheel would be on right side and even cheaper to buy

tits ive only got plastic part of DL, just applied for a new one can take up to 2 weeks why cant they just ring DVLA like every other known track day organizer
