Yeah that's what got me thinking! Will go and measure at some point while I also measure the clearance I have without the chin spoiler in terms of lowering Key measurements from what I can see is less than 100mm high and at least 900mm long!
-
Yeah that's what I feared, probably won't get anywhere with this but goning to send off a tester email anyway! They were already there sadly as my building is a brand new addition to an existing site. I relaise that I'm very very unlikely to get anywhere with this but just a tad frustrating and did think it was odd that a standard car would catch on them. I do take them very slowly at an angle which is better but still catches even then! Bellway are still building another block on the site hence my access route is currently through a side entrance and will be for the next year or so but it just struck me that the plastic one's may be intended for temporary use only while the builders are still there so will ask that question! Yeah that does help but still catch slightly! Think I may be sad enough to go an measure them one day, just difficult to decipher from the above regulations what the exact heights should be. I'm guessing just between 25 and 100m from the surface?
-
Two reasons why I'm currenly looking into this; Firstly, the speed bumps at the development where I live (numerous blocks of flats), which are those black and yellow plastic things, have already succeeded in pretty much ripping off the front chin spoiler on my 370 (car is completely standard right height yet catches badly everytime). Secondly (and the real reason) is I want to lower my car which would be pretty much impossible atm with them in place. Do I have any argument that any speed bump should not be so tall that it is damaging a factory standard production car or that maybe these black and yellow one's should only be used as a temporary measure? (I always assumed that's what they were tbh) I did have a quick look at the highways act referring to this and it just says that; it has a minimum length of 900 millimetres measured parallel to an imaginary line along the centre of that carriageway from the point where one face meets the surface of that carriageway to the point where the other face meets the surface of that carriageway; © the highest point on it is not less than 25 millimetres nor more than 100 millimetres higher than an imaginary line parallel to the centre line of that carriageway connecting the surface of that carriageway on one side of the road hump to the surface of that carriageway on the other side of the road hump and passing vertically below that point; and, (d) no vertical face of any material forming part of that road hump exceeds 6 millimetres measured vertically from top to bottom of that face. Any ideas what arguments I can put to the management company if I contact them? Will of course lead with the fact that it's damaging my car, rather than I want to lower my car! Cheers

As I'm going to Florida in a few months I've been browsing US forums to see if there's anything I can get a bargain on. Gonna save a few bucks on a new boot mat which should be easy enough to bring home (assuming they fit the UK models) but Im also eyeing up some HFC's. Firstly, I have no idea how much they would weigh so this may be out of the question? Any guesses? Secondly, I have a custom cat back system already, would I have any issues fitting off the shelf cats/cats made for the US market? if it is doable, has anyone heard of a brand called CNT? Found a particurlar advert on 370.com for a pair of these at $150. Seems to be a fair few youtube videos on them etc, just a little wary of buying a brand I've never heard of. Cheers

Another quick quesion, this time regarding boot mats! I'm assuming manula and auto makes now difference this time but just want to chek that a boot mat from a coupe in the USA will fit a UK model Coupe?

Cheapest I can find for the front 2 is on both Oponeo and Tyre leader. Both at £308 for 2! Any reccomendations with regards to the better service from these companies?
-
I like your thinking though, my missus has a pair....
-
Haha! My bad! Yeah that's gonna be their argument I guess, for the gouged one I'm gonna say that I did specifically ask the salesman about that and he said not a problem, just stupid on my part not to get something more formal in way of a check or to get them checked myself immediately Yeah, think I might get somewhere with the wheel but probably not the tyres, worth a try though like you say!
-
Okay great, cheers both! Will go for these then! Probably just front for now! Looking at a few websites they have the MPSS and MPS3 too. What's the difference, MPSS the ones to go for yeah?
-
Given my other thread I just posted, are these the most highly recommended tyres then? I never track the car and rarely get the chance to go for 'enthusiastic' drives up in the mountains so will I really benefit from the higher end price bracket or would I be perfectly fine with replacing what's on there now (hankooks) and a few hundred quid?

....from Kwik Fit that is! Before you tell me off for going there, let me explain. Went out to the car and noticed front pass side was flat. Drove to nearest petrol station to inflate all tyres and the 2 front were very low, pass side was 12 psi, drivers 18, backs were fine. Had a free check in Kiwk Fit as it was the nearest garage and they said the 2 rears are slightly garaged and near limit but all legal and holding air so forgetting them for now! As for the fronts, the pass is leaking because the rim isn't straight and the drivers has some big gauges out of the sidewalls. I knew about the sidewalls and mentioned them to BMW (where I bought the car) and they said if they aren't road legal then they'll change them but not otherwise so they didn't but now Kwik fit says technically they are illegal! As for the other side the out of shape rim must have been leaking very slowly over the past month I've had it and being as they refurbed all the wheels for me they surely should have spotted this? Now, the car is going back to BMW Thursday to have some other things done under warranty. Do you all think i have an argument that they should replace the front gauged one for me and also fix or replace the bent rim or could they just claim I did the damage to both and I haven't got a comeback? Luckily since in licked the car up I'm still yet to kerb them freshly painted wheels so it's clear I've not hit any kerbs.. Sorry for the long story but any advice is much appreciated! Thanks

Attention 370z owner - Vossen wheels at low low prices

Out of interest and slightly off topic, anyone know what the front wings are on that first 370 with the black inlays? -
Does anyone know of a good vehicle wrapper/signage copmpany that could do the just the centre section of my front lip on 370? It's not a lot of work so don't want to travel for it or have to leave my car just struggling to find a reccomended place in Cardiff?
-
Yeah and the guy I used really does know his stuff and very helpful with any questions/requests etc so was happy to give him my money rather than an off the shelf brand, especially as it was probably half the price of a similar brand system! I guess it's only talk but he did tell me that a guy with a 370 who recently had one of his exhuasts fitted then went to a tuner in London to have it mapped etc I guess and they said that they'd never seen better power gains with just a new cat back alone!

Loving the exhaust mate, it's spot on for what I wanted and even better with the early downshifts with the paddles I'll get some vids up soon
-
Good stuff cheers mate! Will have a go tomorrow

Looks much better! finally getting round to doing mine this week! Do you just have to pull the trim off or are there some screws to do first? Any advice in where shouts to start pulling?
-
Biggest item I want for myself are lowering springs, not sure what savings might be to buy out there but would imagine they'd definitely put me over my weight limit
-
Yeah I am quite tempted to stock up on a few of these! Anyone know the best site to get them over there? Nice work around! If I can get in touch with a supplier then I'll definitely look into it! I wonder how much weight and space 10 or 20 GTR buttons would add up to mind?? Amazon.com, ebay.com , Google.com Take your pick!! Clear lens for the 370 interior light are also from the GTR $27 a set. to go with the start buttons. Best offer I found so far are on eBay, I've mailed him to see if I could get a bulk discount!
-
I'll have a look into it mate, thinking that the weight might start adding up here! Haha! Yeah, in Champions Gate, gonna head down south for a few days too, Naples and maybe Miami!
-
Very good advice! Already have a can of Le mans blue so will give that a go! Cheers mate
-
Yeah I'm thinking that's my best option when they're ready Just wondering if I can get away with fitting the diffusers before I fit a lip Cool, cheers mate! And no issues about having to protect the drilled holes from rusting?
-
I already have some of the side diffusers ready to go on my 370, so firstly just wondering if there is a guide to fitting them? What will I need? Is it some of the 3M tape (anyone have a link) AND some self tapping screws in the predrilled holes? If I do screw it into the sills will I need to do anything to prevent the bare metal exposed by the screws from rusting? (that may be a stupid question ) Second query, has anyone ever fitted the side diffusers without fitting a new front lip? In my head I think it'll need something on the front to balance it out and match the height of the side diffusers? I'm tempted by a few front lips but nothing is quite spot on for me and I've already pestered Tarmac about some options but for now I think I just want to wrap the existing centre bit and fangs in gloss black! Any help as I'm very indecisive!

great stuff, cheers Ross! Will get that done today then

Looks as though it is slightly low, maybe hence why it's coming on some times but not constant? Anyway, can anyone confirm what brake fluid is needed to top up?
