  1. Well.... today was exam day and the results are in! I scored 972/1000, which is a pass! Yay me Still haven't qualified though; the next step is an 8-hour practical assessment in Brussels!
  2. "The unit body of the 350Z was designed to be rigid yet devoid of performance-robbing weight." lol
  3. Am I the only one pondering the steering wheel hung on the rear-view?!
  4. Did you get the job then? When do you find out?!
  5. From another IT guy in networking; good luck!
  6. In a car wash?! Have you seen the colour of the recycled water they use?
  7. I asked the seller about the delivery costs.... Dear khanaircon, Are you really charging £65 for delivery?! :-/ - rikjonatk Dear rikjonatk, Reason for £65 postage is because we want to sale this at minimal lost, This each can cost us around £17 so total cost for all six cans is £102 and you are getting this deal for £65 postage and what ever wining bid, after paying £65 for postage this is still a very good deal for anyone. - khanaircon
  8. Bit of a thread revival, but I'm glad it's not just me that feels the need to double-tap the brake pedal if I really want the brakes sharp. I'll give them a bleed (if it ever stops raining!) and see if that improves things, but by the sound of it that's just the way these cars are... There are a few comments around saying "that's just how Brembo brakes are", but I had 4-pot Brembo's on my Evo and they never needed a double tap ever. As for the cause; any ideas? I guess the pistons suck too far back in to the caliper, so it takes the first tap to push them out a bit, and the second tap to really push the pad hard on to the disk?
  9. Can't say I can answer your question, but as it's your first post, Welcome to the forum! "new baby" = a baby, or a car? Either way, congratulations and I'm sure both are welcome - pretty friendly forum...
  10. Hah, I work for BT (and I may regret saying this, I'm not sure) but if any of you ever have problems with a service BT is providing for you (personal, business, phone, TV, Internet, whatever...) just let me know. There are some cases where we can help gee things along a bit if you're stuck with a problem and aren't making the progress you'd like. (There are also some things where it's illegal for me to help you because of the way BT is regulated by the government so I can't help with everything, but I'll try my best)
  11. Yep, that's the one... This is the syllabus for the exam - it's marked out of 1000 and you need 850 or more to pass... I got about 846 /1000 when I last tried this a few years ago. After that (if I pass) there's an 8hour practical exam in Brussels before I get my CCIE 'badge'. Lots of work has gone in to this already and there's lots more to follow, but it'll be good for my career and hopefully well worth the effort. 1.00 Planning & Designing 802.11 Wireless Technologies 12. "Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert - Wireless" The CCIE range of exams are the pinnacle of exams for Cisco, who are a leading network equipment manufacturer. I basically spend my days designing, selling and troubleshooting large WiFi networks and security solutions to support hundreds / thousands of Users in places like Banks, Hospitals, big Corporates, Universities, etc... There are thousands of people across the world with various CCIE qualifications of one flavour or another, but only about 100 people with this particular qualification. The CCIE certification is well respected within the IT industry, it gives me leverage to demand more money from my employer (or makes going contracting easier, if i chose to go freelance) and it gives customers a bit more confidence that I know what I'm doing.
  13. Just booked my written exam... Don't expect most of you will know what this it, but suffice to say I'm be chuffed to bits if I pass it! If I do, a pair of HFCs are on the cards for Christmas... If I pass the 8Hr practical next year as well, then maybe I'll think about some lowering springs and stiffer ARBs too... wish me luck!
  14. Nope... Pretty sure Pagid do (or at least, did) the OEM brakes for various Porker, Bimmer and Vauxhall marques over the years... so they can't be that bad for general motoring. Might be different if you're tracking it, but then you wouldn't expect an OEM pad to be ok on track....
  15. Try selling it to a gearbox refurb place? "Mr Gearbox" (Sheffield, I think) took my old Astra one off me some years ago.
  16. Just get something with a polarised lens and you're half way there... Don't get RayBan P Aviators though - they're too 'flat' and loads of sun comes in round the side of the lens... I'll probably get some polarised Oakley glasses for my next set, just need to find a pair that isn't too garish.
  17. On a flat road, engine warmed up, 6th gear, 60mph, 60PSI
  18. I was just driving the Zed to pick the g/f up from the train station when, in the oncoming traffic, I saw a lovely looking red zed from a distance... On first glance I thought it must have had a fair amount of body work done as it didn't look normal, but either way, I was impressed and was briefly looking forward to crawling a bit closer to it... when I got there though, it wasn't a Zed at all, it was actually a bog-standard (new shape at least) Audi TT! I didn't even laugh at myself, so ashamed was I that I couldn't even spot another of the very car I was driving!! Please don't ban me!
  19. A black 350 and a blue 370; both looked in good nick (and were well parked, lol) but the Blue 70 in particular did look good... never seen that colour in real life before.
  20. Anti-roll bars, bushes, lower profile tyres
  21. With 28-pages of chat about WaxyBox, it's got to be worth a punt... Can somebody PM me the discount code please? Thanks!
