What Bradders said is correct, but have you tried speaking to a specialist insurer, like those on here? They know all about the Zeds and mods are more or less 'free' in many cases...

Not sure what your car drives like, but 'gunning it' in 2nd or 3rd in mine results in motorway speeds in very little time at all... And remember the Zed is notorious for not 'feeling' very fast. I've been pulled over twice and neither time has been near the site of the alleged incident - both 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile away. They were probably checking your plates before they pulled you. How can you definitively and undeniably prove they weren't 'right behind you' (which is a vague phrase in its self, which I assume really "means within a couple hundred meters of you") when you didn't have a dash cam or lots of witnesses?

"Beyond reasonable doubt" is the phrase I believe... Two coppers, possibly with a dash cam in their car, who have little or nothing to gain by prosecuting you, versus your say so, you who have nothing to lose / everything to gain by denying the charge. Don't fancy your chances to be honest.

I seldom do this, but I just checked in the owner's manual! It says... Park on level surface Run engine until at operating temperature Turn off engine and wait more than 10 minutes for oil to drain back in to the oil pan Remove dipstick, clean and re-insert Remove dipstick and check level is between H & L Top up if below L, do not overfill. Personally, I check the level when it's fully cold - first thing in the morning.

Let it stand for longer and clean your dipstick before you take a reading - should make the reading easier.

Mine's just started to do this in 6th too (HR, 71k) - I've got some new oil and molyslip on order from CougarStore that I'm hoping will help, but ultimately it's a sign of the Synchro wearing out. I tried finding 'recon' HR boxes recently and they're like rocking-horse sh**. Best bet seems to be to find a second hand one at a breakers, or through one of the dealers on here.

You might have better luck buying two and keeping one as a spare / trying to sell the other one on yourself?

Did my rears tonight - when you can't get the calliper bolts off cos your breaker bar is too long, get a jack under the suspension 'cup' and jack up the whole lot a few inches which will give you enough room to crack the bolts off.

Went skiing in Borovets in Bulgaria one year and bumped in to a lad I knew when I was at school, hadn't seen or heard from him in about 10 years. Didn't actually like the guy so it made for a slightly awkward week really!
