  1. That's not normal. Check; Wheel nuts are done up Tyre pressures are ok, and symmetrical Play in bushes, beatings and ball joints Sticky brake pistons Do this on all 4 corners of the car, not just the fronts.
  2. E9X M3, or E60 M5! Anything else just isn't worth it - that's my current thinking anyway...
  3. Who do you think is winning and losing then? For me it's the Tories winning and the Greens losing..
  4. I thought these weren't allowed over here? MOT regs say they're not allowed, or at least, you can have one but you still need the cable one too, so what's the point? http://www.ukmot.com/mot%20manual/index.asp?MOT_Section=Parking%20Brake%20Control&MOT_Number=3.1 Assuming you're talking about an MOT-able car as opposed to a track-schlag? Edit: PS - Sorry, not very helpful I know
  5. I run square tyres and wheels on my e46 m3 - it means I can rotate tyres to get more life from them and because the fronts are now wider, I can brake harder, I can dial out the under steer more and I make fewer tyre screechy noises. If I were the OP though, why not do a couple of days on stock sized wheels and tyres, review what you think the problems are, and then resolve using your own info. So much of what everybody says is specific to driving style, experience, car setup, etc.. that what works for one person may not be as good for another.
  6. Been through in my (standard height) HR three times now - no problems at all.
  7. Stuff like this boils my ****! I bet you'd be 'interested' if the state made you pay 60% income tax, doubled the cost of petrol and made you pray three times a day. Politics impacts everything.
  8. Still wobbling around :-/ Most of the pain has gone now, but not all by any means, and it's still bust - doesn't feel stable at all, hurts walking up/down stairs, etc. knee support helps a lot, but it's not enough. Back to the Docs... And in the mean time - I'm going mad stuck at home all the time! :-(
  9. It was totally flat on the bottom so it probably got a lot of downforce from ground effect, so if got a little bit of air over the rise, ground effect would stop and the underside of the car turns in to a "wing" (of sorts, like when you put your arm out of a car window) and from then on, the driver is a passenger. They used to have similar aero tricks in F1 years ago but it got banned because it causes too many accidents.
  10. Samsung... Voice activated... This is the one that was on the news a few weeks ago? It listens to EVERYTHING you ever say, does voice recognition and stores it all on the interweb in Samsung-land somewhere. Careful what you talk about in front of it! (Workaround = disconnect it from the internet)
  11. Would you consider splitting the gearbox from the Engine and selling separately?
  12. E60 M5. It meets none of your criteria aside from being practical and can be had for 15k (just!). 500bhp V10 - wow.
  13. What cats you got? My HFCs make a weird airy noise...
  14. What car? What brakes? How many times did you do big stops and over what period?
  15. Well, mixed news... Doc reckons I've damaged some cartilage and a ligament. 2 weeks no driving as a minimum and if it's no better in 4 more weeks it'll be MRI time.
  16. Anybody got any horror / success stories? I had a horse riding accident a couple of weeks ago where another horse careered in to me and my knee took the brunt of it. 2 weeks and a lot of ibuprofen later I'm still hobbling around with a fairly uncomfortable and unstable-feeling knee. I reckon it's a ligament that goes down the outside left of my knee (medial?) but I'm off to the docs on Monday to find out. What's your story?
  17. Buy a massive 12v battery like they have in caravans and a DC-to-AC converter. Leave the converter in the garage, and wheel the battery backwards and forwards between garage and house as needs be. You'll obviously need a battery charger in the house. Alternatively, just buy a house where the garage is attached!
  18. I run a team of IT Sales Engineers in BT - Cisco, HP, Microsoft, Citrix, EMC, etc...
  19. Has anybody found a way of making the heated seats actually stay on? Mine take an age to get warm, then they seem to turn off for a bit, then come on for a bit, etc... I just want them 'on' and if I get too hot I'll use the button!?
  20. Don't crash a swift if you rent one - the minimum excess on the insurance is very high. Trust me, I know... :-(
  21. You were turning left and I was stuck at the lights in a silver HR. Got a wave too. Was it you??
  22. I was in a silver HR, and spotted a Silver DE and a Black 370. Got waves from both. Anybody on here?
