  1. Just take a photo or ten and show it to the bloke in the shop, they're usually very helpful. A bit of PTFE tape never hurts either.
  2. I have no idea how to check? Each valve just does on/off and has multiple wires to it. Why the frig an on/off valve needs more than 2 wires I've no idea?!
  3. Piping looks like it'll be fine for what I want, 'just' a question of getting the valves to work as required.
  4. Gravity hot water 1 pump to push water through the radiators and through the heat exchanger in the tank. 2 electric valves (one for CH & one for HW) 2 Thermostats (one on the tank for HW, one in the hallway for CH)
  5. I'm trying to convert a Danfoss Set2 to a Horstmann C27. The old unit only does HW or HW+CH while the new one supports independent control of both. Most of the wiring between the valves and the controller is hidden in the walls so I can't trace them and double check what goes where. I assume I need to re-do some wiring but I can't tell what. Also, they use different back plates. Any help?!
  6. You can't see the paddles by the steering wheel.
  7. Any history to go with it? Valve clearances, service history, boot floor / sub frame repaired yet? SMG / Manual? Do you have a hard-top as well? Face lift interior? What's the zorst? Any changes to brakes / shocks / springs / bushes? VANOS re-build? clutch? what mileage? Rust on the sills? and wheel arches?

    Rear Tyre wear

MPSS are quite long lasting to be fair. Are your rears wearing evenly across the width of the tyre? How much toe are you running on the rears?
  9. Track alignments are very different to road alignments. Track settings are great on a nice smooth piece of tarmac and when you're going round corners at 90mph. Those same settings on the road will result in uneven tyre wear and typically, lots of tram-lining (wandering steering). Sure, there's always the middle ground between the two optima, but then you're compromised on both. As for tyres, depends on how you drive. I go out for long stints and give them a hard time, others go out for just a few laps then come in again. If you want to push for particularly decent times or drive for long stints, road tyres will melt and/or go off quite quickly. If you're happy just doing a handful of laps then coming in again, road tyres will be fine.
  10. It's over priced by the looks - check out your competition's prices on Amazon/ eBay / etc
  11. I have K&N filters, CNT HFCs and Miltek Cat back - sounds good on full chat and passes MOT every time. 2007 HR on 80k.
  12. Yeah, it's definitely the corners that sorts the good drivers from the good cars... I was behind a GTR for a few laps at Silverstone - he had me on the straights but I reeled him back in under braking and in the corners. Let battle commence!
  13. No video from my car I'm afraid. I think my mate in the RX7 had his GoPro running so I'll see if he publishes anything. Hopefully I'll be lots faster!
  14. Here's some data from my 2.44 lap;
  15. Silverstone GP Circuit First time here - surprisingly long circuit with plenty of corners to learn! Good fun though Managed a 2.41 theoretical best (based on three best sector times) and 2.44 actual best. The long sweepy corners are less daunting then they used to be (likely due to experience gained at Thruxton). I did have a couple of brown-pants moments but they were all minor - no spins, crashes, etc... Largely due to either cooking the tyres and out braking myself, or due to going in to the first right handed by the pits a liiitle bit too quickly. I didn't get any photos, but there was lots of exotica there - fezza, every Porsche you can imagine, radicals, BMWs, GTR, etc. Some well driven, others less so! The M continues to be better than I am, though I am sloooowly getting there with it :-) Next up will hopefully be Donnington.
  16. I'm in the market for a new one - probably go 4K but not fussed about 3D. What's the benefit of the curved screen? I just don't get it!
  17. My Pagid RS29s have done half a dozen days now in the M3 and still only 2/3s to 3/4s worn. Don't get on with YellowStuff (old version) as they go off too soon. Haven't tried the new version.
  18. Because Islam.Religion Because Terrorism, no real religion preaches hate like this. Sad times. My thoughts are with the French people tonight. Retaliation for killing Jihadi John? :-/
  19. Batteries 'can' emit hydrogen (amongst other things) when charging but I don't think it's really a problem these days?
  20. When I added the cloud black magic to my NAS (different brand) I had to re-visit lots of the security settings because I had similar experiences as you. Tried reading the release notes for the SW you recently added? If you remove the SW does the problem go away?
  21. I use that charger on my M3 which is also in a garage - haven't had any problems.
  22. Different (stiffer) chassis, but the same engine.
