  1. Hi people My Roxy is getting near to her P3 service, so I was wondering if anybody has any experience or stories relating to Westover Nissan in Bournemouth, what are they like, do they do a good job, is the price competitive etc. I don't think there are any good specialists or independents in the Bournemouth area so need to go the main dealer route. Cheers Anthony
  2. So much effort going into this build, I cant wait to see it in the flesh sometime.
  3. In my case, I wanted to change cars, set myself a limit of 6.5K and began looking on Autotrader, Ebay for what I could get for my money, didn't care at the start what I wanted just something different from my BM ci, narrowed it down to a Zed or Bosxter, drove a few of each and was on my way to London having seen a Boxster 3.2S spent the next 4 hours trying to get through London to see it, lost my rag, turned round and drove back home, that night I spotted a Zed and the following day was the proud owner of Roxy, not looked back since. My view is is you really want a certain type of car, just go and get it. If you are worrying about running costs, servicing and the like go buy something more mainstream with a smaller engine and boring looks but if you really really want a Zed, then go for it cos you wouldn't be worrying about sod all else except getting the car you really want.

    MP4-12C

I have to agree with Ekona that the MP4-12C is not that good looking especially when sat next to a 458 but non the less it is a quick car.
  5. How much is a genuine Gear knob as I could do with one, mine is starting to look shabby.
  6. Our family has a bodyshop and I have seen my old man repair cars for insurence jobs that were and are a lot worse than the one in the pictures, providing the car is repaired correctly and on a jig to check measurements etc, then there is nothing wrong with owning a damaged repaired vehicle. I have seen cars repaired that been involved in accidents at the docks, fallen off the transporter etc before even being registered, so there is no way of telling what your cars been through before it has been registered to its first owner. The one thing that I will say is that, a damaged repaired car is never worth as much as one that's not been recorded but that has only been in recent years for inclusions on the log book previous there were thousands of cars being repaired, put back on the road and sold to unsuspecting buyers because the sellers did not need to tell them.
  7. I'm there tomorrow with the moving motorshow, was onsite this afternoon, all the usual stands, Lotus has a bloody big one this year and the FMX boys were putting on a good show.
  8. Totally agree mate, in the past week I have had someone open their car door against mine while it was parked at work and yesterday had the aerial snapped in half. Not been a happy person this week.
  9. Hi all, I know this is very short notice but I have a few paddock passes available for this weekends British GT and F3 championship at Brands Hatch. They gain you entry into the circuit on either the Saturday or Sunday. Please PM your details and address if anyone is interested. I only have an hour or so to arrange the postage before I leave work so you'll need to be quick and they are going fast within the staff here. Cheers Anthony
  10. I have to say that only having had Roxy for a few weeks the biggest thing I have noticed is how much low down grunt the motor has compared to my last car, in most cases I am in 5th and 6th just ticking along without any probs at 30mph, once out of town its another matter, would also say that the low down grunt is more impressive than the top end and find myself thinking that she needs more power now.
  11. Had my Zed for approaching a month now, the clutch is quite heavy and take up also quite high but I have found that easy to adapt too. The mpg is what has surprised me though, I use mine everyday, it's my only car and have put nearly 3,500 miles on it because of the travelling my work involves, I don't drive like Miss Daisey and have been getting between 26 - 28 mpg including a few autobahn runs, so I'm well pleased with that as it does not affect my mileage allowance too much.
  12. I'm no expert on values but while I went up and down the country looking for my Zed, I test drove a Stilllen supercharged 2004 UK model in Black, GT spec, with satnav etc etc. It had 58,000 on the clock and I could have drove it home from the albert Embankment in London for 5,500 and that was a couple of months ago.
  13. Yeah the merc SOS does sound superb, so does the BMW but the gt-r's look proper mean.
  14. You should have gone to British GT Championship at Rockingham to hear and see the Skyline GT-R's. Next round at Brands in a couple of weeks
  15. Stuck inside a wet German at a very windy Rockingham has never made me laugh so much as reading this thread, never would have thought my rambling would result in some mills and boom paragraphs.
  16. Very true, I hope she will forgive my straying.
