Well we have just turned up on car park, peeing down so a retreat to the pub may be in order before putting tent up!

I have an oem front bumper available in azure which needs a respray anyway. I bought it for a project to smooth over the nissan badge and fill the number plate holes but changed my mind and bought a nismo front bumper instead. I'll also have the OEM one currently fit to my car available soon as well (once I have repaired the Nismo) AND.....I also have some dual chrome bumper grille edging which s brand new and that will no longer be required due to the change in plans. Have a look at my build thread for an example picture of that PM me if you are interested. I'm in the west midlands, so not a million miles away.

We have the day off tomorrow so I think we will be some of the early ones. Tonight is the camping kit fitment test.... Other than a tent,bed+sleeping bags and clothes and not forgetting beer what else is worth bringing ? Chairs, cooking kit, table, emergency food?

Packaging looked fine. but hard to tell with bubble wrap. I can't even guess at what has caused it to split in the three places. I'm not putting any of it on the car yet until it is fit for purpose. Just to add to the misery, Tracy has just got home in the Passat with a failed drivers window! Motor turns but window doesn't move. Got it closed now at least. Try and get it booked in somewhere for while we are away.

Not insured, found out paiselyfreight dont cover bodykits and I had faith that they would delivery ok so told the seller to wrap them well and that I trusted the delivery company. I just cant decide if i should fit it for lakez or not. Which is worse, a cracked nismo or a crap painted standard?

SOmething like that could work tbh. Maybe not a full targa style, but having support bar through the middle of the roof and removing either side. So basically, targa but having 8inches or so of the roof remaining in the centre? Take an old rear boot strut and jam that down the middle! You could even get RT to hydro dip the sunroof panels in carbon!!! Would that even work, hydro on glass?

What about something along this lines, you could install 2 standard sunroofs lengthways for instance and have them removable

Now Tracy and I are taking the day off on Friday so we will be there quite early i think, I don't know what everyone else is doing or wether there is scope for a midlands convoy up.....For all I know I may be still fixing parts to it on the morning as I fight with the camping gear to go in it. Tonneau divider out...tent in.

A quick update. My Rays are now back on the car after I sourced some Bridgestone re050a's for the rear. Despite my enjoyment of the alloy switch I'm glad they are back on, they look lovely...filthy but lovely. While I was at the garage picking my alloys up I asked if I could pop the car on the ramp to get a better look at the undertray. Thanks to Zmanalex as he had already given me an idea on the fixings quantity and pricing and as I looked underneath it I could see where several bolts had sheared off and where the mounting points for some of the captive nuts had split, so not as simple as just replacing some that had dropped out... so out came the cable ties which will tide (tied pun missed opurtunity) me over until after lakez. Then I'll strip it off and see what I can do with it. Tomorrow should bring my Factory Nismo kit which I will be getting on (hopefully) before lakez. Having never fitted anything to a car like this will make it fun and terrifying in equal measure . Target will be to get the front bumper and skirts on. The spats will have to wait as they are unpainted but will tie in nicely with the rear bumper/wing rust spray I require in the future. I have updated my first post with things that I will soon be listing for sale as the Nismo kit means there are items I do not need anymore due to the change in direction. I'll get them posted in the sections soon once I have pics with usernames.

Looks good. I'd like to see a side shot of your car now like your sig pic. Imagine it marries up nicely.

Looking forward to watching this. I really enjoy reading threads about you guys that aren't afraid to get stuck in. I'd stress about taking some plastic trim off let alone the work you are undertaking!

Actually can you pass something over to Richard for me. Everytime I reorder I have to type my delivery address in. Despite saving them, each time I pick my work address for delivery instead of my billing address it gives me this message and I just have to recreate it again: "last name is a required value" My last name is there.

Yes they comment how cheap, dumb & ugly it makes the car look. I was about to make the same joke I do like the white bits though. I'd be intereset how good the paint is underneath as the last but two picture you can see damage to the paint on the right hand side of the spoiler.
