  3. hi folks, im looking for an oil temp gauge that isnt the round common type but more of a slimline type something like this this is just a clock but if anyone knows where i can get one that displays oil temp it would be greatly appreciated

  5. Never heard of cooling issues? I do think it will be as reliable if not more reliable than a boosted VQ. Certainly a lot more tunable as I've pretty much hit my maximum without uprating everything again on mine to benefit an extra 100+ bhp.. Just converting to RB I can be looking at 450 - 500bhp as standard I reckon I would make quite a bit back off the VQ TT lump I've got at the moment to benefit what's needed for the RB26.. I've estimated around 6k for everything I need from engine/trans, mounting kit to loom and custom prop. (not including labour and any custom fabrication obviously). Is 450-500 not like the max you can get out an RB without fully building a forged engine with a lot bigger turbo/turbos? And you're VQ could achieve more than this if it's forged. I personally think 6 grand is way off as you will have to buy all the new fuelling system to support a big power RB, then the big single/twin turbos,intercooler, engine management, mapping aswell as all the machining and porting and an engineering shop for the oil system and then there's cams, valves, springs, the list is massive but if you have the money go for it. And like you said you will make a good bit of money back from the TT VQ engine and i also might want to take it off your hands
  6. Apparently it's not as good an engine as the VQ as it has oil issues aswell as cooling issues. However it is an epic engine, sounds brilliant and highly tuneable if you have the funds.apparently it takes a lot of upkeep aswell. It also looks awesome in the zed. I looked into it for a while but just seems like a lot of hassle for what you get back. That being said it will make your car totally unique in the UK. I love the idea of it and if you can afford it I say definitely go for it

  8. when I fitted my decats the engine management light only came on about once a week to a fortnight. I just bought a code reader off ebay for about £15 and reset them as it only took 2 secs. since its been mapped its been fine
  9. Oil light means there is no oil pressure and the oil isn't being pumped round the engine. Generally by the time the oil light comes on its too late and there will be some serious damage to the engine. Get it checked ASAP. It might just be a faulty sensor but you really need to get it fixed or it will be a new engine for you

The only looks mods i have is a stubby aerial and a set of rotas but have four hundred odd bhp to surprise a few folk . to be honest though its an expensive game, ive spent over 11 grand on mods in the last year and im still nowhere near finished. think i have a serious problem

  13. I was having the same problem but just with Internet explorer but I use chrome now and it's fine
  14. yeah its so much quicker with the TCS off if you can control it. Takes a bit of practice though. i ran my tyres at 18psi aswell. get the spare wheel and jack out aswell next time
  15. i had a k1 with decats and hated it from the second i started it up. its unbearably loud with the bungs out and vibrates the full car. even with the bungs in its really loud. i only had mine on the car for 6 weeks because it snapped in half . sent it back and bought a resonated cobra system which is still loud with the decats, sounds great tho and id recommend it
  16. well done. its a great adrenaline rush doing the 1/4 mile. i got a 14.2 before mine was charged and the got a 13.0 when charged but noticed after it that id had a boost leak so im going to strip mine out and try again this year to crack the 12s.
  17. my bumper washers are disconnected but the switch is still there and it passed the other day, oh and my emissions were fine even with the decats
