I thought you asked the guy who didn't like cars - he may not like them but he sounds knowledgeable on the subject! From his reply it seems he knows more about them than me and Buster combined and we have been known to supercharge the bloomin things Maybe I should get him to sign up to here and answer one technical question a day, a bit like the mystic meg of the 350 world.

Think this question has been asked about 5 times in the last day, almost as bad as not knowing what red lining is Here you go mate - http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/11639-www350z-ukcom-car-stickers/page__hl__sticker On a more serious note I hope you all are ashamed of your disgusting responses to the OP........ Gave me a good laugh at the end of a long day I know that much What a total rookie, oh well thanks to Will I PM'd Mike and I've got my sticker winging its way to me shortly Thanks for the link, I did try to look but couldn't see it in the obvious places, didn't think to look there!

You're just upset you didn't get to join in these jokes sooner! Perhaps a little but I do feel for the OP. way to break him in to the forum. On a side note a friend of mine broke his banjo when he was 15. Ouch! Not many members can say one of there opening threads created a 5+ page post I do feel for the OP but I just hope he can see the funny side, I for one have not said anything in here maliciously trying to upset him. He's come on, asked something a bit daft and got a ribbing for it. If he just laughs it off he'll be golden

I'd imagine I'd get hauled into the bosses office pretty quick if I was wondering around asking people what a banjo string was.

CS got a group buy going on in their sub forum at the moment for these very parts, worth checking out.

Also, contributing to this thread has allowed me to thrust my postcount above the 350 threshold. How do I initiate the procedure for the receiving of my free window sticker? Or does that rule even exist anymore, it's only taken me two years....

Ian's posts have the ability to teleport you? Comber (from Irish: An Comar, meaning "the confluence"[2]) is a small town in County Down, Northern Ireland. It lies 5 miles south of Newtownards, at the northern end of Strangford Lough. It is situated in the townland of Town Parks, the civil parish of Comber and the historic barony of Castlereagh Lower.[2] It had a population of 8,933 people in the 2001 Census. Comber is part of the Borough of Ards. It is also known for Comber Whiskey which was last distilled in 1953. A notable native was Thomas Andrews, the designer of the RMS Titanic and was among the many who went down with her. Well I never.

No, it's not Okay, I was hoping they were going to come in under £400. Shame

You sure you got the right price on those sport cats?

It's just a bit like the revometer in the 350z 0 - 6.5k RPM, anything in that zone is fine.. You accidentally down shift to a lower gear while hammering it and end up past that RPM, there isn't much hope for your banjo string. That's not the first time I've been told. I do feel pretty bad if the bloke is genuinely unaware of what the redline is but I mean come on, that's like not knowing what a banjo string is. Let's just hope he hasn't snapped his banjo string Just to keep on this point and not to make the guy feel bad but I went around the office, in the name of investigatory journalism, and asked several of the non car people what a redline is in car terms. They all knew. this is just a joke, I asked one bloke who doesn't like cars who said 'it's the thingy that stops you revving your engine thing past a certain point on the thingy in front of you

This feels a bit like CSI.

Has anyone told him this car doesn't have a left phalange?
-
The amount of times I've done that on other threads I thought I'd push through that feeling of 'is this really worth posting' today.

Welcome to post 21

I'm pretty sure 90% of these posts gave you your answer, your question was answered in the 2nd reply.People are asking justified questions, as you said it's a open forum, everyone is entitled to an opinion. Curious, what do you call the red line then? never called it anything, thanks for the advise Now that we're all friends, I'm going to give you a bit of a ribbing over your ignorance. I'm guessing you've been eating for the majority of your life and as a consequence you have had interactions with various different tools for getting the food from your plate (circular thing, about 21inches in circumference) to your mouth (located just below your nose). I've got money on you knowing what those various devices are called. So you'll have to excuse a few people (me included) when we struggle to believe how you've had such an extensive car history and not managed to pick up on what a redline is.

There is a rev limiter but it only protects you on the way up, not the way down.. So in second gear at 2k RPM if you boot it all the way to 6.5k RPM the limiter will kick in and cut the fuel. If you're doing 120mph and accidentally stick it in first gear, there is no saving you.
-
Ah, I see now. That makes sense Like every car ever made since the early '90s, the Zed does indeed have a rev limiter to stop you breaking things. Won't help with overrevs via a botched shift, though. Which is downshifting to 2nd instead of 4th at 100mph, for example. If only I had your tact
-
Can I also ask, have you actually driven the car you've purchased?
-
Again, I can only apologise for my rudeness and in amongst my rudeness are nuggets of information for your pleasure.
-
out of interest, is there a rev limiter on this car too? Yes, at 6500 for yours. Again though, and I'm curious more than trying to sound horrid, but why do you think the max revs for each gear is important? Also, the 350z comes with a gear change light that you can set (all the way up to the redline) which flashes at the set RPM indicating you should change gear. So you never have to fear about bouncing it off the limiter (redline).
-
You're quite right but if you came in here and said 'My Zed is pulling to the right all the time' I'd perhaps have different advice. Asking what a redline is isn't really something I'd expect someone buying a 'sports' car to ask, but fair enough. If you want a car to make it more than 20 miles down the road then it usually comes with a red line on the instrument cluster/dials/revometer/dashboard. I'm actually sorry that I'm being so rude but for someone that's been driving since I was born, I wouldn't call 'redline' jargon...
-
It's terrible, I assured my girlfriend that after the Nurburgring it was straight saving for a morgage, then all of a sudden CS are doing a group buy and there is potentially a V2 bumper up for grabs. Soon to be one homeless zed owner me thinks.
-
... It's where the redline on the revometer starts, it's not unique to the 350z. Also, why not just sit in the drivers seat and have a look at the cluster yourself? I'm struggling to not be sarcastic here as it feels like a total troll. Edit: It's quite literally a red coloured line on the inside of the revometer just in case this is genuine.
