  1. I was about to pull the confused  face when I read the OP and first comment mentioning its too expensive, before going to check current prices.

WTF has happened to them? I advertised the M6 with them late 2015 through early 2016 for £5.95 for 8 weeks at a time, now they're looking £37 for a fortnight

  2. Your house insurance may not pay out on the basis that the bags would be covered by an additional insurance, i.e. you car. Your car insurance may not pay out on the basis that they were on view (if they were). You may not be able to claim windscreen cover (if it does cover all glass) as it was theft and not a crack caused by a stone etc.

Like you say, check your policies as they'll all be different.

  3. Either way is PnP only thing is when installing to a DE series car you need to cut one small piece of plastic on Led light connector.

Genuine Nissan ones as supplied by Alex don't need any cuts to the connectors. Went straight on to my DE.

The plug has been changed at some point in the life of LEDs. I bought genuine from Abbey that they removed from an HR and needed the plug tab filed down. No biggy though, just add 5 minutes.

  4. Honest question - What do these devices actually do, I have absolutely no idea, please enlighten me!

They are basically a throttle position sensor multiplier. When you press the accelerator 20% the TPS tells the ECU and it acts accordingly. This is placed between the pedal and the TPS, so 20% is now multiplied to 60% for example. They don't improve response at all, that can only be done with the remap.

  5. Should have spigots, you're oem bolts are the correct taper, but pretty fat, so you will probably find it a tight squeeze to get the 19mm bit in, most use 17mm nuts.

I think the spigots should be ID 66.1, can't remember OD, 73 maybe?

  6. Just so people are aware, EV's don't run on magical fairy dust, they produce emissions too, so it's only right they have to pay into the pot as well. The only difference is petrol/diesel cars produce the emissions as they are driven, EV's produce it before they even charge up, possibly in a different county.

EVs are still exempt, and I've had £9.5K worth of government EV 'grants' go towards the EV purchases and x2 home chargers installed for free. Hope the scheme is still going in 2018/19 so that we'll get another £4,5K off the list price on the Jag iPace.

As for emissions I cannot be bothered to point out the obvious facts over preconceptions anymore, this piston-heads thread does it all for me, and i don't even think I've made a post on it!!

Aren't they only exempt after the 5th year if they are over £40k? Of course cheaper EV's are exempt from VED, but I don't necessarily agree with it.

As for your link, I don't have time to read it now, but if it's about the emissions in creating electricity for EV's, and it's showing it's much less than petrol/diesel, I agree, but it's not Zero however, so therefore should have to pay.

As for the new tax system, it seems fair enough for poor people like me, who can only afford a £40k car when it's 5 years old and the inflated tax has already been paid and it's back down to the normal rate :teeth:
