Probably not, but the 309 would have more power anyway. 276BHP is very optimistic to start with as most Zeds are quite a few ponies down from the figures quoted, so you may get it to about that after you've modded. If you can afford a 313 (309) then get that... the engine is much better than the 276/296.
Price is probably smack on and worth every penny of £8K, but I fear you may have a very reduced target market for a Zed with a built engine etc... which ultimately means you may have to reduce the price or wait longer to get people interested!
Black Diamond would be fine if not tracking. Probably not as good as the others, but cheaper. I've had no problems stopping with the BD Disc and Pads combo, including some spirited driving round the Evo Triangle earlier in the year.
What on earth did they do for ~£500? If that includes all parts and fluids etc, then maybe not too bad. I'd expect them to have changed the belts, plugs, brake fluid, tranny and gearbox oil for that as well as all the normal stuff.

RT Buscuit sells (or used to) carbon dipped covers for the original key. They look pretty cool and saves the faff of a flip one.
I know I'm very childish... but...
I can only think of a couple of uses for one of these and it isn't changing gear! The carbon ones are nice, but the rest look like they should be from a sex shop!
