1. I think some jap cars will be collectable and have small rises in value, look at the early GTRs and the NSX. Pound for pound you would've made far more money investing those initial sums in a fezza or porsche. Scarcity more important than motorsport heritage sometimes, lots of valuable cars out there with no homologation provenance at all.
2. Nice alloys, colour seems a bit sober for a mustang though. Daytona yella for me please.
3. It'll be the Berks. Either put the stock cats back in or get some resonated decats?
4. Quite a lot of things have to go very wrong before a bank will call a mortgage, if only because they tend to be the least leveraged loans on a bank's balance sheet; there are riskier corporate credit lines that would be withdrawn first after blowing though a range of insurance / first loss swaps and BoE liquidity windows available to them. It would also be commercial suicide because nobody would ever borrow from them again. Sounds like the 123 account was unsustainably generous? Again, agreed, I guess my concerns are the challenges Santander have been having in Brazil and back home in Spain over the last couple of years. Also, I think I've been spending to much time watching the Baltic Dry Index. It's got me a bit paranoid (about everything). In any case gangzoom has clearly had a good work through the figures. If he's happy with the numbers, that's the main thing. That index will give you grey hairs, best avoided!

6. Santander calling its mortgages is extremely unlikely, no bank dared attempt this even in the existential crisis that was the GFC.
7. Money is effectively free (when you factor in CPI of 1% too). Debt, however, remains a liability. Have to say the 123 account is incredibly generous, considering switching to it myself...
8. If you can get a nearly new car like a dealer demo with say 4,000 miles on the clock but with the 20% VAT, 1st year VED and another grand or two off them you might be able to justify it. PCPing the CTR at £25k could work out relatively cheap if the APR is sensible (i.e <4%). Be careful about putting down large deposits though, you need to treat this as a lease and its the monthly repayments that are important. Have 3 cars on PCP, just paid one of them off and will do the same with another once the bonus is paid. Dealers love PCP and will normally give you a bigger discount off list as they get commission. Nothing stopping you from clearing the balance a month after though!
9. I have a mk1 and the aero makes it more planted at high speed, you can really feel it hunker the car down over 110mph.
10. A watch that tweets your top speed. Maybe not a good idea?!?!
11. Are the stillen gen 3s the ones you have to cut bits of the front bulkhead / bumper to fit? Btw my baboo is three months old and the 370 is still here. Keep it!!
12. Had them for two years on my 350z and one year on my 370Z with no problems. Turbo'd cars might spit them out from what I've heard. The make a highly addictive rasp on the 350z and a very loud mettalic rattlesnake snarl on the 370z. Other options like the Cobra CATs are very expensive...
13. Too many mk1s were exported!
14. Sorry forgot to say that the evora will not hold value like an exige, and the f-type will drop like a stone, justlike every other jag in the history of coventry. Guaranteed 4 figure sale price in 8 years.
15. Something rorty, practical, not too showy that will hold its value around £35k and comes in gorgeous valencia orange? BMW 1M!
16. Wow, is that smart marketing? Presumably MPSS2 and MPSC2 not far around the corner then?
17. Might be interested in a Mustang when the 370ZN comes off lease in a couple of years, hopefully Ford will have seen the light and released the GT350 on this side of the pond. It has to have the 8,250 redline. DT
18. OK so I used wheel doctor who took one look at the Nismo alloys and said there was no way he could get a good enough colour match on them. They have to go in for specialist treatment ARGH! He did a good job on the BMW alloy though for £65.
19. Black Mk1 owner here, very interesting work with the decals, looks pretty good. Every time I see the ark exhaust I wonder about speed bumps though! Lovely car, happy to see that they're not depreciating like a stone and plan on keeping mine for a while.
20. Anyone take a rough stab at what these are worth?
21. Motordyne stuff sounds great, you'll love this.
22.
Theres a billion refurb companies in london lol. Google some then check out the reviews
There are, but I'd like to avoid cowboys if possible!
23. Bought my new track weapon at the weekend; a 150ps diesel with auto slushbox and 2,000 litres of luggage space. Good career hedge in that I can always use it as a taxi if my business fails. Seriously though I had to cover the practicality base with my wife before getting a beater for the track, the BMW 1 series is only viable for very short families. Only a Miltek and panel filter away from 8 minutes BTG
