  1. Bit of a luxury down sarf? Haven't seen much lower than 5deg thus far...
  2. And all this time I thought it was 70L. The fuel gauge in the Zed is rather pessimistic no?
  3. Judging by other photos / films on the World Wide Encyclopaedia Britannica it looks like you have to have to stick a piece of darkened film to the inside of your windscreen (permanently) to see this thing in daylight? Might be annoying? Pondering a purchase though...
  4. Can i ask how much the wrap weighs in total?! Just interested to know...
  5. AFAIK Zed alternators are very hardy. Just as well because they are bloody expensive!
  6. Don't forget other important upgrades which can improve the driving experience, like improved brake lines, coilovers, racing pads, quality tyres etc. It's not just about a few extra BHP. I think you should do the uprev optimisation first though, which sharpens-up rather than transforms the car. Then maybe some HFCs to add some rasp. Just don't overlook rolling chassis improvements.
  7. Wow that's absorbed a lot of time and money without a doubt. Looks like a bargain for the performance on offer.
  8. I think the car just handles better, in all conditions, with TCS switched off.
  9. Is that the most cost effective way to get hi-revving NA thrills? What about other cars like an E92 M3 or Z4M which already have these characteristics engineered into their design?
  10. Sorry to hear that but you are now a member of the very exclusive "1% club" who have managed to destroy a NA VQ35. Apparently it takes some doing... Over on Cayman-UK.com it's called the "99% club".
  11. I take it you work for Bridgestone and get an employee discount?
  12. Sure your trip computer isn't being a bit optimistic there? If not, that is truly astonishing. I'd still rather destroy the environment though
  13. SamN that's impressive! To the OP - why are you buying a 3.7L engine vehicle if you're in the slightest bit concerned about fuel economy?
  14. Not heard the others but my Milltek is civilised at cruising / motorway speeds and only announces itself in a moderate way, when putting one's foot down. Failing that the quieter OEM jobby sounds pretty good as you're well aware. The Milltek is nicer in 1st gear though.
  15. That's a first - a Nissan dealer cheaper & more organised than others
  16. That caliper colour change is pretty amazing, given all of us on here something to aim for!!!
  17. Spend 10k on the 350z and leave £2k for the numerous sets of pads, discs and tyres you're going to get through. Oh and 99ron :-)
  18. Presume that has been converted with a super/turbocharger? Good lord it looked quick!
  19. Anyone else not think the V8 with valves open is just a bit too much? I've been up close & personal with one of these on full chat and it's just utterly, utterly ridiculous - like an artillery company is firing a salvo from the rear of your car. It's too loud, not nice and to my ears actually sounds rather "synthetic". Are they using sound generating jiggery-pokery back there? Maserati V8 for noise, please
  20. See your point sam but might be best to use the last 20% around the track - make sure you squeeze the last bit of life from them? Kingers if it's any help (and I am far from an expert here) I have run Brembos and Pagids for 3-4k miles each and the former were nice for road use i.e. more progressive/smoother brake feel, but fade after a while. The pagids were sharper/better on track but noisier in terms of squeal under gentle town-braking conditions. They lasted 3 continuous laps on the nurburgring without any probs (I got tired before they did!) whereas the Bimbos simply didn't. Upgrading to HEL/RBF also seemed to reduce fading. Running stock discs.
  21. Understood and thanks for the clarification Mark.
  22. Sounds like you haven't tracked it before? Why not use your current setup out there - sure they will be fine for a few laps and eventually fade, at which point you can let the car cool off for a bit (and the oil temp/pressure too) before heading out again? If you don't know the car very well you should maybe take it a bit easy on a track day at first? And once you've knackered the existing pads/discs, get some new ones and have the lines/fluids changed at the same time? I just don't see the point removing perfectly good kit - wear it out first, it ain't cheap! DT
  23. yes I'd imagine dyno time costs more than that. So not really a cheap exercise to repeat...
  24. Hi guys, if i've had an uprev / dyno optimisation can i make further mods such as add a plenum and airboxes as i please or will they need more dyno time and ECU re-flashing to optimise? Cheers, DT
