  1. Guess the insurance co will write it off, even for a little scrape like that. I doubt it would cost much to fix out of your own pocket if you have the time to find the components/panels yourself through breakers and had a cheap local shop work on it for you. Three panels + 3-4 airbags? <£2k inc labour? You might find the hit you take on a cat C/D classification is less than the cost of repairing it outside the insurance policy?
  2. Richy the alloys and red calipers are an improvement over the outgoing model, along with the new bumper/grille. All IMHO of course. Beautiful colour too, I'm sure you'll be very happy with it...
  3. No power restriction actually, it's a slight time delay between pedal and throttle body movements, giving the impression of a little less power Really? In the 350z I thought it was 65%, 65%, 80% of max power in gears 1-3 respectively controlled at the ECU level rather than throttle body. But I'm no technician...
  4. Alfie can you reply to my PM about the passenger airbag please, happy to pay £50 delivered.
  5. Just bear in mind that power has been dialled back slightly in gears 1-3 for a reason and the uprev will remove that. Roundabouts + heavy right foot + TCS off + Uprev =
  6. Yeah 300ZX TT. Cooler than any of those and famously errr reliable.
  7. Alfie are you still selling the passenger airbag? Will you take £50 for it? (Apparently the ebay dealer had already sold it to someone else for £32 and didn't update the listing.)
  8. Absolutely awesome - not quite as warm as we were expecting though. It was an "MX-5" club day so the other drivers were pretty easy going and unaggressive around track (err...BMW M club?). Very well organised and nice facilities - I always go to these paces with low expectations butI have to remember they're not go-kart tracks. I think they course really suits the Zed - two long straights, nice sweeping/driftable turns and a couple of challenging hairpins. Perfick. No issues re noise limits; standard intake + milltek & HFC registered at 83db. DT
  9. So as a reference point i registered a meagre 83dB with my setup. Very disappointed! No drive by issues either...
  10. They are also THE best sounding car in Forza 4. Scientific fact.
  11. Funny, I thought the subtle alloy redesign was an improvement. Definitely better in graphite/titanium shading too.
  12. On the downside the Milltek+Berk combo will have you flooring the accelerator through the 3500rpm magic zone all the time. It is hugely addictive hearing that rasp. I like mine - nice and quiet at cruising speeds but my inner chav does wish it would crackle & pop a bit more on downshifts/over-run, and rumble a bit deeper when cruising around town (with Vicki Pollard of course).
  13. Going this weekend for the first time and looking forward to it!
  14. Funny, I saw Tarmac's supercharged gt86 with some very moderate wheel spacing. Best talk to him for advice...
  15. Glad to hear it. And going completely off-topic if somebody put a gun to my head, made me marry and have children, I'd probably chose to cart them around in the 5L V8 Infiniti SUV. Awesome exhaust note...
  16. I think OEM brembo pads should be in the £80-90 region if you're not looking to take the car on track at any point (pagids and ferodos are expensive for a reason). Likewise drilled or grooved discs would likely be overkill for road use. And if they worked so well Boeing would probably use drilled discs on 747s (to reduce weight or increase "performance"?) but they don't....
  17. Having recently dating a "working class lass" I have discovered that it's surprisingly difficult to remove fake tan from toilet seats and paintwork. Any luck getting their St. Tropez off the Zed?
  18. Firstly well done for being one of only 11 people in England who have bought an "Infiniti" branded vehicle. TBH £300 for new discs and pads on all four corners sounds like a pretty good deal. I would've expected a quote £550 from a main dealer. Unless the G37 has a JDM style floating caliper setup? Some of the traders on here will probably be able to do you a better deal. They'll be along in a few femtoseconds...
  19. I think the only thing I'd want to do, is colour match the comedy silver door handles with the graphite alloys and then it would be pretty much perfect. Apart from not being an Alfa 8c.
  20. Midnight blue is a nissan uk configurator option for 2014 models so I assume so. I don't think you can select the frost interior though...
  21. I didn't think it could happen, but the 2014 Midnight Blue with graphite alloys and red calipers looks rather lovely for a 370z. Possibly even better with a frost leather interior? Nice...
  22. Many other expensive sports cars and GTs will have similar running costs but I think the difference is (correct me if I'm wrong) that the GTR seems to be "a way of life" and an end in itself, attracting more of the hobbyist driver than say a typical Continential GT, XKR or 997 owner? DT
  23. Some interesting advice there... Incidentally I'm surprised to see that you don't need to alter any of the brake hydraulics replacing the JDMs with a different / larger brake kit. Also why do 350z "big brake kits" not come with increased rotor diameter and 4-pots for the rears? They all seem to be front-only.
