  1. I'm not aware of any other motoring festivals on a par with FoS - they get F35s and Eurofighters turning up for christ's sake! But it's still too busy. Never been to the revival and maybe I should try it out this year instead, even if the period dress code is a ridiculous faff...
  2. is this with or without MPSS This was prior to fitting the quiet but otherwise over-rated MPSS.
  3. I thought everyone with a DE 'box misses 2nd and goes from 1st to 3rd? Certainly enough torque to render it a viable alternative to the 1>2 change which takes a clunky, rev-dropping eternity.
  4. I used to have this exact same problem and it was due to a "disc/pad warping thing". Not saying that's the solution but a new disc solved it.
  5. I think there's a little too much "uprev changed my life" nonsense on the forum. Throttle map gains are subtle IMHO, along with any 10-20bhp gain in power if you're pussyfooting around. If you're gassing it then there is a noticeable difference as the response in 1st and 2nd (with TCS off) is sharper as the wheel spin and 180 degree positioning at the next roundabout will show you. I had an uprev more for the aural benefits that come with Berk/milltek enhancements and that definitely didn't disappoint :-)
  6. Anyone else think that they need to reduce tickets now? It's just getting too busy - circa 150,000 at weekends. If you turn up or leave too late you're looking at total logjam and the stands are like a northern line platform at 8am. Stress!
  7. Hmm, they do look good but that is a CHUNK of change to drop on a 370...
  8. Well they are made from space-age aluminium...
  9. AFAIK the market has only Jap "classic" award in the last 30 years; the NSX. And the Zed simply isn't up in those leagues in terms of either engineering or build, regardless of how much we might love it. All that matters is that the 350z a classic in MY eyes. Everyone else can faff off. I think people agree that the 240/260z is a classic but are you going to keep your 350z in a carcoon for several decades years? No thanks.
  10. Bit worried to hear this - had the Berk+Milltek treatment at Abbey last year (about 13k miles ago). What kind of warranty do Berk offer against this kind of issue and is it possible they might also damage the backbox?
  11. DS2500 are track pads, they will not have intial bite until they are warmed up, once they are warmed up they are very very good, my only complaint about them is they seem to squeal a bit at times, pretty much everyone I know that has had them fitted gets some noise at some point... Well in that case they must be very biased towards high operating temps because even with some seriously fast road use they're still not biting as well as the pagids or brembos IMHO. And the squeal is bloody awful sometimes but I know it's par for the course with fixed calipers and metallic pads.
  12. Why don't you emulate some of the bloody idiots out there who drive with headphones on? Can police fine you for such behaviour? It strikes me as more than a little dangerous. MPSS are a little quieter and will alleviate some noise, as will some heavy sound damping in the boot and possibly a higher quality stereo setup. But if you wanted a quiet car to listen so you can hear music get a Prius. One of the best things about the zed is the exhaust note.
  13. Been a bit disappointed with the DS2500s. Only done 2,500 miles on them but they seem to lack both initial bite (oem brembos were good) and hot bite (pagid RS29s were great). Would be interested to hear your opinions once you've put some miles on them.
  14. Well the GT-R seems to come with a serious leg-up in running costs. Do the math very carefully...
  15. Craziest was the suzuki swift my girlfriend drove around the ring with as a terrified passenger. She also managed to make Herr Lomas green on her "tutoring" lap.
  16. Anyone else surprised that they still haven't fixed the issue with mismatched bumper paint on the 370N? It looks really jarring to me.
  17. Yeah there's a silver 370 parked up opposite the sackville hotel in bexhill most days. Near dad's place hence why I see it a lot (along with a nice burgundy R33).
  18. TBH it's not like there was a lot left on the table power wise with the 3.7 without adding forced induction or boring it out, so what else could they do but "optimise" the existing map to add a modicum of extra power? As someone has said the handling and aero mods might add enough extra spice to warrant the nismo badge. All that will (eventually) happen is that the Nismo moniker will be replaced over time as the extension to micras and jukes dilutes the cachet. A bit like AMG/AMG Black, M/M-sport, S-line/RS etc.
  19. The GT-R Nismo seems be a pretty hardcore vehicle and if the ring lap times are to be believed, a meaningful improvement over the "stock" GT-R?
  20. Little bit overstyled front and rear bumper (as usual) and the rear duckbill would make a nice addition to a standard 370z but the Nismo should have an element of Max Power about it, i.e. a BGW. Seat looks great, as do the alloys.
  21. Well the graphite alloys seem to be a non-nismo option on the 2014 US models. The look great with midnight blue. I think SLM sold the white 370 a few weeks ago?
  22. Hadn't seen that video before - pt2 had some interesting factoids as you say.
  23. Isn't this why the zed is the preferred choice of the bodybuilder? (and soon-to-be-henched?)
